Schema markup in tag manager for multiple locations not registering in tester tool or search console
-
Hi Moz community,
I had implemented schema markup for companies with multiple branches. We setup an organization with multiple points of contact tag, a Local Business tag for each branch and tags for specific products/ services - all through Google tag manager.
I managed to fix the product markup with a small update to the code I found in a Google forum but have been unable to revive our local business markup.
The tags of the schema mark up are active but when I run the Google structured data testing tool it doesn't find any schema tags. We are seeing some of the tags show up in search console but not all of them.
Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?
Or, do you have any recommendations on how to markup an organization with multiple branches? Should we have one overall organization tag and a separate one for each business or is there another way of presenting each branch?
Appreciate any insight!

Hi Ruth,
Thanks for your help!
Each tag is on a separate location page and uses static JSON-LD markup in tag manager.

Having one Organization tag and then marking up each location with LocalBusiness is how I would do it. It's hard to say what might be going on without knowing a bit more about your implementation. Is all this markup on one page (e.g. an "Our Locations" page), or is each tag firing on a separate location page? You mentioned that some of the markup is showing up in GSC and some isn't - do the entities/markup that are showing up in GSC have anything in common? Are you using static JSON-LD markup in Google Tag Manager, or using variables to generate it dynamically?

Website URL, Robots.txt and Google Search Console (www. vs non www.)
Hi MOZ Community,
Technical SEO | | Badiuzz
I would like to request your kind assistance on domain URLs - www. VS non www. Recently, my team have moved to a new website where a 301 Redirection has been done. Original URL : https://www.example.com.my/ (with www.) New URL : https://example.com.my/ (without www.) Our current robots.txt sitemap : https://www.example.com.my/sitemap.xml (with www.)
Our Google Search Console property : https://www.example.com.my/ (with www.) Question:
1. How/Should I standardize these so that Google crawler can effectively crawl my website?
2. Do I have to change back my website URLs to (with www.) or I just need to update my robots.txt?
3. How can I update my Google Search Console property to reflect accordingly (without www.), because I cannot see the options in the dashboard.
4. Is there any to dos such as Canonicalization needed, or should I wait for Google to automatically detect and change it, especially in GSC property? Really appreciate your kind assistance. Thank you,

Google Search Console - Sitemap
Hi all, Quick question. I'm trying to update my sitemap via Google Search Console using a sitemap.xml file that I've created with ScreamingFrog. However, when trying to submit it, it seems that Google only allows sitemaps that are located at a path within your domain (i.e. www.example.com/sitemap.xml) as opposed to being able to directly upload a sitemap.xml file.Is there any way that I can easily upload my sitemap.xml file? Or is there any easy way that I can upload the file to a path on my domain so I can upload via the URL?Any insight would be much appreciated!Best,Sung

Search Console has found over 18k 404 errors in my site, should I redirect?
most of them where old URLs pointed from a really old domain, that we have just shutten down. If the pages didn't receive any traffic, should we redirect? If I follow this https://moz.com/learn/seo/http-status-codes we shouldn't

No H1 tag in wordpress, what are the implications?
When checking my blog posts I noticed that they don't contain any H1 tags. This confused me as I'd heard that wordpress automatically puts H1 tags on your blog post titles. Is this something that might negatively affect my rankings? If an H1 tag is absent, does the H2 tag take center stage so to speak? Is this something my wordpress theme does and how can I fix it? Cheers! Anton

Schema.org for restaurant menus
Hi i have looking into ways that i can apply shema.org formatting to a website that has a collection of restaurant menus. I found related schema.org formats (eg recipes, reviews, products etc) though can not seem to find a format set out for menu items. I am considering using the product format (http://schema.org/Product) for each menu item on a restaurant menu though not sure if this would add much value or not. I was hoping Google when then know more about the data collected on the website and be able to show it more accurately to the end user when they are searching for this data (restaurant menu), with rich snippets in serp results. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Why is Google stripping/replacing my TITLE tag for the site with the BRAND Name only when looking at BRAND level search
When doing a search in Google (US Proxy) - Google is stripping and replacing my functional TITLE with the brand name only (say 'Nike'), but if you do a specific search term like ('buy nike shoes') and see a top 10 listing for my site's homepage, now the title works and shows correctly. I saw this a few years ago with another one of my company domains, but didn't ask the question as it worked out. Thanks for any insight.. NOTE: It's not damaging any results, or rankings for the site.. but: when searching for BRAND name of the company, like I explained, it's replacing a optimized title for the BRAND name, and then re-placing it naturally when deep search brings up the homepage and the TITLE looks fine.. Very weird at best! Thanks, Rob

Registering a domain for multiple years
Does registering or renewing a domain name for more than a year improve search as a result of a more trusted site and company that will seem to be around for longer than just a year?
