Whats the deal with the date at the start of the meta descriptions?
I have not really looked into this but I'm guessing its a blog thing?
The beautifully crafted meta description is now being cut short even though its within the character limit and is now only showing 36 characters!
Is there a way to remove this?
Thanks in advance

Google may be auto-including the date in the meta description if it appears near the start of the content. To avoid this, try moving the date further down in the HTML or using structured data to mark it separately. Starting the meta description with key phrases can also help focus Google on the main text.

@CraigAddyman A 36-character meta description ensures a concise, clear message that quickly captures user interest, aligns with a branding strategy, or fits design constraints while emphasizing key information.

Ensure your meta description is relevant and engaging. Sometimes, including the primary keyword closer to the beginning can help. Additionally, check for any conflicting plugins or settings in your CMS that might be affecting the display.

Meta tags - removal
A couple of months ago, I did something that has caused me great angst. My website unique visitors was on a steady growth path for about 3 years. I swapped out my SEO plugin, from all-in-one, to Yoast. I then removed all of my meta tags. My site has about 2000 unique posts. After doing that my unique visitors has been on a steady decline of me loosing traffic at a rate of 5 to 10% of my visits. Any thoughts on the best remediation plan I should use. I put back in the meta tags, but wasn't sure of the SEO plugin switch caused the issue.

Meta Description Question
Hi, Lets say you have a 1000 pages, is it ok to generate a template meta description and flip the keywords depending on the page? For example: Red Shoes page: Buy Red Shoes at amazing prices. We have a large range of Red Shoe sizes available. Blue Shoes page: Buy Blue Shoes at amazing prices. We have a large range of Blue Shoe sizes available. Thoughts?

Why do I need to write meta descriptions?
I work at a marketing firm, and was trying to convince my boss that we need to start writing meta descriptions for all pages on the sites we develop for clients. He asked why this would be necessary since Google automatically pulls a snippet of content, containing the keyword(s) that had been searched, from any page listed in its SERPs. I didn't have an answer for this, and it got me wondering: When does Google actually display the meta descriptions that people write instead of scraped content? And is it really that necessary to write meta descriptions?

Unique Product Descriptions Vs. Speedy Launch
We are close to launching a new property and are also in the process of writing completely unique product descriptions for every product. This will continue to take a lot of time. We are debating the following two options: A. Launch soon with about 10-15% of descriptions being very unique and the rest being standard (mostly manufacture supplied). Then continue to update product content as we complete new fresh descriptions. B. Wait to launch until everything is unique. This will probably set us back 2 Months. We of course would like to go live sooner than later, but don't want to jeopardize anything as it pertains to rankings. The fear internally with launching now is that product pages get crawled, but don't make our best 1st impression with the engines. The counter argument is that it doesn't matter much, pages will get crawled again, and the fresh new content will be considered. Any inputs on this? Is '1st impression' with Google key, or is there no harm in launching and updating. Everything else is very sound -- architecture, on-site optimization, usability/crawlability etc. It's just the matter of the unique vs. generic product page content. Many thanks!
