Title Tag for homepage Not displaying correctly in Google Search Results
-
Hi
We have a problem with how Google is is displaying our title tag when a user does a search on our company name Increation.
I have attached two images of how the title tag for our Homepage is dispayed in Google Search Results.
One of them is "increations" - this is the result which is displaying incorrectly.
The other shows Kitchens | Bathrooms | | Luxury Kitchens | - which is how we want the title tag to be dispalyed.
This inorreclt result is only displayed when a user types in Increation into Google. (BTW it only happens on Google, not the other search engines).
To give you some background an external SEO company did some work for us (before I joined as usual :-)). They built a lot of anchor links with the word "Increations" pointing back to our home page. Is this whats causing the probelm?
Also how can we resolve this issue so that the correct Title Tag is displayed.
Thanks for your help.
Mik

Wissam beat me to the link to SERoundtable. I quote that one at least once a week in here -- it's happening to a lot of people.
-
Not a problem. Let me know your results in a few weeks after you change the appropriate tags on your site. Keep in touch.

Hi Wissam,
Thanks for your answer. It must be down to the backlinks :-(. Which will take quite a bit of time to resolve.
Cheers

Hi Alex,
Thanks for our response.
We are in the dmoz directory and it just says Increation, not "Increations"
I will have a look at your info today.
Cheers

If you are listed in the DMOZ directory that could be affecting it, as Google sometimes pulls titles for sites based off of DMOZ. The amount of anchor text links pointing to your site with that keyword really shouldn't affect what the title tag says, but recently tests have shown that it can.
Always keep in mind though, that Google like "brands" because they like the trust that they bring for the users. Although, it could just be another thing Google is testing. My last point on the Title Tag change could be that Google decided that the Title Tags you gave them weren't relevant enough and you know, they could be pulling this from the anchors.
Anyways, the first thing I would try is make it so no robots use the DMOZ directory (also known as the: Open Directory Project) for titles and descriptions take a look at this link I found in a forum for you: http://www.v7n.com/forums/seo-forum/238598-how-can-i-remove-dmoz-description-about-my-site-google-yahoo-search-results.html
Let me know how long this Title Tag change has been going on, and we can test some things to get it back to normal.

Hi Mik,
before this year, the explanation to this issue where Google show alternative title, because it used to pull it out from the DMOZ Directory and/or Yahoo Directory. thats when webmasters start using robots meta for "NOODP" and "NOYDIR".
So Google recently is changing the title depending on anchor text of the backlinks or what ever it thinks its relevant to the search query. (Higher CTR)
some current discussion happening here that you can learn from http://www.seroundtable.com/google-title-selection-12989.html

I submitted Sitemaps from AIO SEO to google search console, if I now delete the AIO plugin, do my sitemaps become invalid?
I use Yoast as SEO for my new Wordpress website https://www.satisfiedshoes.com/, however I couldn't get the sitemaps with Yoast as it was giving me error 404, and regardless of what I tried, it wasn't working. So I then got the All In One SEO while still having Yoast installed, I easily got the AIO sitemaps and then submitted them successfully to the Google search console. My question is that now I got the sitemaps on Google, since I'd rather use Yoast, If I want to delete AIO, will the sidemaps given to Google become invalid? There is no point keeping both SEO plugins active right? Thank You

Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions are not Indexing in Google
Hello Every one, I have a Wordpress website in which i installed All in SEO plugin and wrote meta titles and descriptions for each and every page and posts and submitted website to index. But after Google crawl the Meta Titles and Descriptions shown by Google are something different that are not found in Content. Even i verified the Cached version of the website and gone through Source code that crawled at that moment. the meta title which i have written is present there. Apart from this, the same URL's are displaying perfect meta titles and descriptions which i wrote in Yahoo and Bing Search Engines. Can anyone explain me how to resolve this issue. Website URL: thenewyou (dot) in Regards,

Some competitors have a thumbnail in Google search results
I've noticed that a few of my top competitors have a small photo (thumbnail) next to their listing. I'm sure it's not a coincidence that they are ranked top for the search phrase too. Is this really a help and how can it be done? Many thanks, Iain.

Why are Google search results different if you are log'd into Google or not?
I get different results when I'm log'd into my Google account associated with my website than if I'm not. The same country is occurring. So how can I rely on the google results I'm seeing? For instance my site is page 1 with the improvements I made based on SEOMOZ if I'm log'd in. Yet I'm not on the first 25 pages if I'm not logged in.

How can we fix duplicate title tags like these being reported in GWT?
Hi all, I posted this in the GWT Forum on Monday and still no answers so I will try here. Our URL is http://www.ccisolutions.com
Technical SEO | | danatanseo
We have over 200 pages on our site being flagged by GWT as having
duplicate title tags. The majority of them look similar to this: Title: <a>JBL EON MusicMix 16 | Mixer | CCI Solutions</a> GWT is reporting these URLs to have all the same title: /StoreFront/product/R-JBL-MUSICMIX.prod/StoreFront/product/R-JBL-MUSICMIX.prod?Origin=Category/StoreFront/product/R-JBL-MUSICMIX.prod?Origin=Footer/StoreFront/product/R-JBL-MUSICMIX.prod?Origin=Header/StoreFront/product/R-JBL-MUSICMIX.prod?origin=../StoreFront/product/R-JBL-MUSICMIX.prod?origin=GoogleBase These are all the same page. There was a time when we used these origin codes, but we stopped using them over a year ago. We also added canonical tags to every page to prevent us from having duplicate content issues. However, these origin codes are
still showing up in GWT. Is there anything we can do to fix this problem. Do we have a technical issue with our site code and the way Google is seeing our dynamic URLs? Any suggestions on how we can fix this problem? The same is true in our report for Meta descriptions. Thanks
you,

Website disappeared from Google organic keyword searches.
We have an auto repair company as a client www.autorepairauroratilden.com who for the better part of a year their website had ruled the 1st page organic Google search results. Their website, Blogs, Facebook, and Twitter all came up on page one for their keyword searches. On May 13th, it all came to a screeching halt. The website is nowhere to be found for any of their keywords (example: brake repair Aurora.) There are a couple of blogs on page 2 but it’s nothing like it was prior to May 13th. On May 12th we published 5 branded websites for this client – Chrysler, Ford, Honda, Jeep, and Toyota, all on separate URL’s. All the page titles, keywords, and descriptions were specifically branded to the individual websites as were all the keywords. Since the beginning of June we’ve taken down the 5 branded websites and we’ve gone through our keywords on the auto repair website. The website was last crawled on June 11th. We still do not have any page 1 placement or for that matter any page placement. I checked 10 pages out. We have a 2nd auto repair client that has been running their website as well as their 5 branded websites a couple of months longer than this client and we’ve had no problems with any of their websites and keyword search results. How do we fix this?

Google Off/On Tags
I came across this article about telling google not to crawl a portion of a webpage, but I never hear anyone in the SEO community talk about them. http://perishablepress.com/press/2009/08/23/tell-google-to-not-index-certain-parts-of-your-page/ Does anyone use these and find them to be effective? If not, how do you suggest noindexing/canonicalizing a portion of a page to avoid duplicate content that shows up on multiple pages?

Www or no www in search results??
I am working with a client, and when I check on SERP placement, I never see the "www" in the SERP's only nameofcustomer.com not www.nameofcustomer.com. Of course there is a redirect going on...Question is...should this matter at all? I dont understand the relationship between this kind of redirect and SEO. Thank Mozzers
