Link Juice / Java pop up

Hi all
I am a bit unsure of something and would appreciate it if someone could clarify
(without the sad trombone hinting that my question is stupid like the last time i asked a question)
Our Newsletter was recently posted on a website and i am not sure if the link pointing back is actually passing link juice.
When clicking the link, a Java pop up box appears saying "click here to go to authors site"
I am wondering if this was implemented to avoid google passing its juice? Or if google can index the pop up and give us credit for the link?
Please have a look at the article, and let me know what you guys think?

Hi Greg,
Every single link points to www.bestholidaynews.com only and the only links to your page is javascript created. So they are the only ones getting juice as Alan said. I was just pointing out some tools you can use for future posts to check for external links to your site that pass link juice.

@OZ The links are embedded all over the Newsletter. Those links are short URL's redirecting to our site (for tracking purposes)
The question was weather the pop up box that appears when clicking the link passes on link value to our site. Alan's response made perfect sense and i was thinking on the same lines, i just never had the experience to back it up.

I looked at it thinking you were asking about the internal links on the page you left a link to. I am not sure where on the page the link to the author is, except for a contact the author form or their internal link.
If you use firefox then SeoMoz toolbar will allow you to highlight external links on a page. You can then use 'firebug plugin' to follow the link to the source.

your links are buried in the code of the source of the main page, but in a way that they're obscured from proper evaluation by search engines. Links from within javascript popups are very rarely able to pass the value you're wondering about. Google does it's best programatically to read and interpret javascript, yet it's a far from perfect implementation, and there's no way to be 100% sure that you're getting any inbound link value from that article.
You could potentially go through Google Webmaster Tools or OpenSiteExplorer.org to see if those links show up in your listed inbound links, yet it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack depending on how google sees those links, if it does at all.
It may have been implemented to avoid passing link value. Yet it may have been implemented by someone who thought it was a pleasing user experience, clueless to SEO.

The article "overlanding africa" belongs to me and was syndicated by this website.
There are URL shortend links within the article pointing back to my site (overlandingafrica.com) They open up in a Java pop up, and from there you click through to my site.
Is Overlandingafrica.com getting link juice via these links?
I'm sorry if i misunderstood, but it looks like you think bestholidaynews.com belongs to me as you sugessted i have it tested for performance.

So, the link is SEO friendly and visible to search engines. A handler is attached that overrides the usual click behaviour.
I would consider running the site through http://gtmetrix.com as there are large delays on loading content due to blocking issues and some missing gifs and other images 75%-95% larger than required.

I was checking this new tool which is really cool by the way and was wondering if I can outrank big guys with just content. I have a Domain authority of 28 with a spam score of 28 % Can I outrank with amazing content a site that hase a domain authority of 50 and a spam score of 1 % ? Should I ask for all my bad links to be removed so that my spam score goes down or doesn't it matter anymore those days and what matters is good content, link just don't count anymore ? Thank you,

Poor internal linking?
Hi guys, Have a large e-commerce site 10,000 pages as a client and they are currently not getting much organic traffic to their level 3 sub-category pages, the URLs are like: https://www.domain.com.au/category/s...-category-type These pages have been on-page optimised, category content added, yet hardly any traffic. However the site level 1, level 2 pages do quite well. So this suggests this might be an internal linking issue? The site is definitely not penalized and as enough authority for these level 3 pages to rank. Any ideas would be very much appreciated! Cheers.

Slideshare - Links within
Hi Guys I am going to be putting some powerpoint presentations up over time. I have a couple of questions regarding slideshare. If I add links to the slideshare are these crawl able by Google etc...? If I places the powepoint presentation on our website and slideshare would this be counter productive i.e duplicate content? Love to here your suggestions.

Does Navigation Bar have an effect on the link juice and the number of internal links?
Hi Moz community, I am getting the "Avoid Too Many Internal Links" error from Moz for most of my pages and Google declared the max number as 100 internal links. However, most of my pages can't have internal links less than 100, since it is a commercial website and there are many categories that I have to show to my visitors by using the drop down navigation bar. Without counting the links in the navigation bar, the number of internal links is below 100. I am wondering if the navigation bar links affect the link juice and counted as internal links by Google. The Same question also applies to the links in the footer. Additionally, how about the products? I have hundreds of products in the category pages and even though I use pagination I still have many links in the category pages (probably more than 100 without even counting the navigation bar links). Does Google count the product links as internal links and how about the effect on the link juice? Do I have to many internal links which is diluting link juice to less important pages
Hello Mozzers, I was looking at my homepage and subsequent category landing pages on my on my eCommerce site and wondered whether I have to many internal links which could in effect be diluting link juice to much of the pages I need it to flow. My homepage has 266 links of which 114 (43%) are duplicate links which seems a bit to much to me. One of my major competitors who is a national company has just launched a new site design and they are only showing popular categories on their home page although all categories are accessible from the menu navigation. They only have 123 links on their home page. I am wondering whether If I was to not show every category on my homepage as some of them we don't really have any sales from and only concerntrate on popular ones there like my competitors , then the link juice flowing downwards in the site would be concerntated as I would have less links for them to flow ?... Is that basically how it works ? Is there any negatives with regards to duplicate links on either home or category landing page. We are showing both the categories as visual boxes to select and they are also as selectable links on the left of a page ? Just wondered how duplicate links would be treated? Any thoughts greatly appreciated thanks Pete

Google WMT Turning 1 Link into 4,000+ Links
We operate 2 ecommerce sites. The About Us page of our main site links to the homepage of our second site. It's been this way since the second site launched about 5 years ago. The sites sell completely different products and aren't related besides both being owned by us. In Webmaster Tools for site 2, it's picking up ~4,100 links coming to the home page from site 1. But we only link to the home page 1 time in the entire site and that's from the About Us page. I've used Screaming Frog, IT has looked at source, JavaScript, etc., and we're stumped. It doesn't look like WMT has a function to show you on what pages of a domain it finds the links and we're not seeing anything by checking the site itself. Does anyone have experience with a situation like this? Anyone know an easy way to find exactly where Google sees these links coming from?

Content linking ?
If you have links on the left hand side of the website on the Navigation and content at the bottom of the page and link to the same page with different anchor text or the same would it help the page (as it is surrounded by similar text) or is the first one counted and this is it?
