Updated title tags not displayed in SERPs?
-
A couple weeks ago I updated the title tags and URLs of some of my site's top landing pages, but the new versions aren't indexed in Google. Webmaster tools says that my site has been crawled since updated.
I'm using a pretty old version of Joomla for a CMS, and had to fight with the plugins a little bit to make it all work (sh404SEF for the URLs and sh404SEF Custom Tag Module for the title tags).
For example, www.radiussecurityinc.com's indexed title is still:
Radius Security Solutions | Home
But should be:
CCTV System Design - IP Industrial Surveillance | Radius Security
Other pages besides the home page have the old title tags as well as old URLs.
Any ideas how I can fix this? Thanks a lot in advance!
Jeff

Thanks!

I have this same issue also. Larger sites get updated quicker than smaller sites. Give it a bit more time.

Google may have crawled your site, but has not updated its cached version of the homepage since June 3rd (where the title tag was in fact different). I'd wait it out a little bit more, I'm sure you'll see it update soon.

PS - you can just click on "cached" next to any search result to see the most resent version.

If you visit the pages yourself and the website shows the correct (new) title in the title bar and address bar of your browser, Google will find out sooner or later and start using the new titles and URLs. Patience is all it takes!

Duplicate page titles
Hi, I have a Joomla 2.5 site and I use categoryblogs. So I have a page with "reviews". All the reviews are shown on this page and there are about 15 pages of it. In my SEOMoz crawl result I get 71 errors ! about "duplicate titles". How can I diminish this? I don't know how to show all the reviews in a proper way other than what I have accomplished with categoryblog. Patrick

Tripping versus Tripping.com in title tags?
Hi All, We had a quick question regarding the construction of title tags throughout our site (yay for optimizing!). We were wondering what is considered best practice or what we should be considering when we're deciding how to end our title tags - basically, it's between Tripping and Tripping.com. For example: This is the content | Tripping OR This it the content | Tripping.com Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,

"Standout" tag and "Original content" tags - what's the latest?
In November 2010 Google introduced the "standout tag" http://support.google.com/news/publisher/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=191283 I can't find any articles/blog posts/etc in google after that date, but its use was suggested in a google forum today to help with original content issues. Has anyone used them? Does anyone know what's the latest with them? Are they worth trying for SEO? Is there a possible SEO penalty for using them? Thanks, Jean

Hit by the penguin update
Hi, My site @ www.mortgageadvicecenter.co.uk has been hit by the penguin update. I cannot be found at all in google for certain keywords such as mortgage advice where we ranked page 2. We still rank for certain keywords. I really don't know why we have been penalised and what to do. I have plenty of brand links and nothing out of the ordinary link distribution. This obviously affects our bottem line so do you have any idea's or time scales? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks Ryan

New (google) local SERPs has 40 character limit on title length
Should i change my all the page titles for pages that show up in local SERPs to reflect this new limit? Is there any benefit to leaving it at the old limit and having more keywords in there? Or would there be benefit to conforming to google's new standard and having shorter titles?
