Need a good Oracle friendly CMS to host our blog
-
I'm trying to convince my tech dept to take our blog off of a subdomain and move it to a folder on our root domain. Understandably, they don't want to build it from scratch, so I need some good CMS tools to build the blog.
Our first choice is Wordpress but it isn't compatible with Oracle. Does anybody know of any good solutions that are Oracle-friendly? Our platform is PHP..
Thanks!!

Well I know you can use Drupal with Oracle since version 7 now supports PDO, and there are even some modules out there to do the heavy lifting for you.
However, for a blog Drupal is probably overkill. I would question your IT depts decision about not wanting to use MySQL/Wordpress before looking at using Drupal for just a blog.
I've never used these lesser known CMS's, but you can try them out, they all work with Oracle db: ez publish, Mysource Matrix, Silverstripe, Typo3
-
Yeah unfortunately they aren't ready to manage an additional DB
-
Not sure how your IT Dept is about LAMP stacks....
I am of course assuming you are using Linux and Oracle....
And that your IT dept will allow a MYSQL database, as this is something you will not be able to get around.
Hope this helps in some way
-
No that's definitely helpful thank you! We'll make sure to not use them
-
I don't know how helpful this is (process of elimination perhaps :)), but we're not very happy with stellant. Everything just seems 3 times more difficult than it needs to be.

Is constant contact a good source for seo links? how about best of the web? Is tweet angels a smart move? anybody got a good list of strong DA and PA link companies you can do business with and also get strong follow links from? thanks...
Thanks for all you guys do I am writing because I am trying to build a company's SEO link profile with links that have super high, and super stable Domain and Page Authorities (as well as solid Trust and Citation flows). I do this organically and even build my own sites using moz strategies - BUT, I am in need of your best advice: What are some links you can "buy" (as a result of using services from) that are strong and dofollow? Is Constant Contact good? Is Best of the Web good? tweetangels smart? I have seen several businesses with constant contact links (very high domain authority) on their profiles and as the head of business development for a mid-sized marketing firm, I want to see if constant contact, botweb, etc. are smart sources to put my clients on for the sake of the seo profile links - I am looking for strong, long-term perma-bumps for my companies and don't want to miss out on low-hanging fruit (that won't poison me in the end). Can you speak to that please? Do you guys have a list of directory links or 'whatever' links that are "get-able" by a regular guy like me that are not simply 2.0 nofollow? Thank you Ben

Has anyone seen a Blog post from LinkedIn's new Blog feature appear in SERP's?
This feature, prior to Feb. 2014 was only available to high profile users, or influencers, like Bill Gates. Now it is available to all LinkedIn users and extends the reach to LinkedIn groups and your own network. Anyone know if there's an SEO benefit? Thanks in advance.

Blog Sharing Options
We are currently evaluating a long list of blog promotion and sharing ideas for our website and wanted to ask some of the resident experts here. We post all of our blogs on our Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ pages, but would you suggest using any of these services for an internet marketing company? What would be the main purpose to using them? StumbleUpon Technorati Digg Reddit Tumblr Delicious Any missing from the list? Is there a list of great sites to ping through WordPress? I saw they provided a list on the http://codex.wordpress.org/Update_Services page. Is this good to use? Do we need to create accounts at all of those services first? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In 2013 is guest blogging a worthwhile activity?
Guest blogging is one of the activities I’ve never undertaken only because I went down the avenue of thinking if you go to the time and effort of producing great content why would you want it to be on someone else’s site when it could be on yours. The only reason I’m thinking about undertaking guest blogging now is because with social media becoming more prominent and indeed I found it to be very useful, I can see the logic that if you have got a niche of expertise to write about and you find good quality websites that will accept your guest blogs maybe that is a productive thing to do by attracting relevant traffic and also producing quality links to your website Have you got any experience of Guest blogging recently? Would you spend your precious time writing for your own website or spend some of that time guest blogging on good quality related websites? And if so what you see the main advantage is being?

Hello, I would like to create a blog but i do know where. The options are to create a blog on a platform like blogspot or wordpress or make a 'blog' section to my website - travel content. Which do you think is the best? If I create it in my website, would that boost my ranking or authority? Thank you!!!!

Is it worth setting up a Google Plus page for your blog?
Hi All, OK we all know the merit in G+, Authorship etc. I'm a regular user on G+ and I work hard to keep my profile up to date and with fresh content. I have no doubt my increased number of followers has helped my blog rank (which my G+ account is linked to). My question is - is there any merit at all in setting up a separate page for my blog so I can get +1s for it (probably very few). Much like any company page that gets +1s and people to follow that company. Or is this just plain silly and I should concentrate on building my personal profile? Thanks

Google Plus Algorithim take into account your circle of friends?
I understand that Google will now display search results from your google plus page if it is relevant or if it is from a friend. But my question is if there is weight based on the amount of friends you have or the relevancy of your friends. For example if you search for the term 'wine' if I have 5,000 friends and many of them are wine and food critics just because of that will my google plus page show up or maybe if I just mention wine would I have a higher chance of showing up than a person who is more relevant on their plus page but has less friends or rather less relevant friends? Thanks!
