Only 2 internal links in OpenSite Explorer?
-
In Open Site Explorer´s tab Full list of Metrics I get for the Page Specific Metrics only 2 Internal Followd Links for one of my websites domain URL. I have checked this metric for other websites and I get some surprising results.
Most of the websites get an amount which seems logical take the size of the site into account. But there are a couple of sites more for which I get very low results like only 1 or 2 Internal Followed Links! This is strange because the sites do have at least more than a 100 internal pages which are all linking back to the domain and are indexed in Google. I have checked if there is something strange with the robots.txt or htaccess but I havent found anything.
So I wonder if this a failure in Open Site Explorer or can there be any other explanation?
Anybody with similar experience?

Hi Cees,
I would actually wait until Tuesday (US time) and re-run your metrics. Open Site Explorer is updating as I type this, so in another few hours there should be fresh information. Run your reports and see if there's still the same problem. If there is still the problem, open a ticket with the help desk either through the web or by emailing help@seomoz.org.
Thanks!

I can assure you that the links on my site are accesible for any bot. As you can see on the attached image this happens on other website also. From the 10 pages in the list there are only 2 with more than 2 lnternal links. I am 200% sure that this is not a accessibility problem. It really looks more like something not working quite well in OSE.
thanks for your response.

I see 2 possibilities that might help explain things. Your site might possibly have some site architecture or internal linking issues that may explain why a search engine bot or seomoz bot cannot crawl internal links. If you give a url we could take a look to make sure there aren't actually any issues. Also OSE only crawls approximately 25% of links on the net so it may be possible that if you run some internal links on your site through the tool they might not be included in the index. I hope this can help further investigation that may assist in finding your answer.

What impact has external links reported as http503
Hello I have 72 external broken links who are reported with a http 503 status. When I ask the owner of that site, he confirmed he has removed it from GA by using this status. My question is. Does this have an impact for the quality of my site? The site is available, there is no delay when you open the link. Thank you for your support. br

Is It Necessary to Remove The Inbound links With Spammy Score?
Hi Friends, I am new to this community. I just checked my inbound links using Moz tool and I came to know that there are some inbound links with spammy score. So, should I remove those links using disavow tool? Awaiting for the reply.

Cleaning Up Bad 301 External Links From Old Site
A relatively new site I'm working on has been hit really hard by Panda, due to over optimization of 301 external links which include exact keyword phrases, from an old site. Prior to the Panda update, all of these 301 redirects worked like a charm, but now all of these 301's from the old url are killing the new site, because all the hyper-text links include exact keyword matches. A couple weeks ago, I took the old site completely down, and removed the htaccess file, removing the 301's and in effect breaking all of these bad links. Consequently, if one were to type this old url, you'd be directed to the domain registrar, and not redirected to the new site. My hope is to eliminate most of the bad links, that are mostly on spammy sites, that aren't worth linking to. My thought is these links would eventually disappear from G. My concern is that this might not work, because G won't re-index these links, because once they're indexed by G, they'll be there forever. My fear is causing me to conclude I should hedge my bets, and just disavow these sites using the disavow tool in WMT. IMO, the disavow tool is an action of last resort, because I don't want to call attention to myself, since this site doesn't have a manual penalty inflected on it. Any opinions or advise would be greatly appreciated.

SEOmoz Not Picking Up Links
I'm finding that SEOmoz often doesn't pick up on many of the links my client's websites are attaining. The links do appear in search engine and often have a high domain authority (often PR links, which I why I follow up to see if they've been picked up). I do tend to see many of the links appear in webmaster tools, so it's a little frustrating that they don't appear, even after months of pages being live. Thoughts?

I am trying to find inbound links for one of my site urls. My question is does SEOMoz able to track all internal links as the Open Site Explorer shows 0 internal links?
It shows 0 internal links when I am pretty sure we have multiple internal links.Should we use absolute urls or relative urls for internal links?

Canonical link on canonical url
This might seem a bit of an odd one, but we seem to be going around in circles on this when using the on page optimizer tool. We have an ecommerce site (magento) which by default is putting a canonical link in the header on every product page. For example; www.example.com/product1.html has the But when we run the on page optimiser tool, we're losing points on the critical section for not having canonical set correctly. If we remove the tag, we get the tick and the a grade, but then further down the report we lose a tick for not using canonical links. What are we missing here?

Factoring in OBL to Open Site Explorer
Morning all - I've been using Open Site Explorer a fair bit since I signed up to SEOMoz a couple of months ago and found it to be a little different to other tools in the past, so would welcome some thoughts on what I should be looking for when I run reports. For example, I've always thought that Outbound links should be important when deciding whether to place a link on a a particular site, but in OSE I'm only given a Page Ranking and a Domain Ranking. Am I therefore to understand that these two factors outrank OBL and that the number of links on a page don't matter? Or have these been factored into the overall Page rank already? Thanks a lot for your help,

What analysis exists for Out Bound Links (OBL) from your site
Hi Maybe I am missing this but I can''t seem to see it. I am doing some analysis on a client's site and want to get a csv list of links from the client's site to external sites. So what I am looking for is a list of Out Bound Links (OBL) from the client's site. I want to run these past a black list / bad link neighborhood checking script I have. This would actually be a nice feature in SEO Moz Pro, unless it actually already does and I am just missing it or not setting filters correctly. Thanks Trevor
