Facebook PPC. Using Google URL Builder - Now What?
-
Hey There!
So I've been trying some FB PPC ads. I recently learned I needed to use Google's URL builder to add the appropriate tracking fields into the URL (source, campaign, etc). The FB ad link now uses a custom URL with all the correct parameters.
Now what do I do in analytics? Do I create a filter? A goal? Getting a little dizzy going in circles with google analytic help, and I'm hoping someone here can direct me.
Thanks!

No problem Dan.
Brad Geddes has a great book if you want to learn more about Google AdWords. It's worth checking out:

Hi Dan
Thanks for that article. Just now I realize my mistake. I was simply looking for "campaigns" under traffic sources. Since I've not done any adwords before its not something I normally look at. But when I look at campaign, sure enough I see the Facebook ad traffic as a campaign source.
From there I can set up the goals etc to track conversion.
Thanks!

Question about audience targeting in Google Ads
I am setting up a test campaign where rather than structuring my campaigns by the normal ad group>keywords with no targeting. I am making duplicates of my ad groups and targeting each duplicate to a different audience so I can target the ads better. But I also want my non targeted ad group to remain to pick up people who are not in my targeted ad groups. In the non targeted ad group, should I exclude all the audiences that I have targeted in the targeted ad groups to avoid any cross over? Thanks

Google Product Ads
Hi,
Paid Search Marketing | | ChrisHolgate
I was wondering if I could ask is perhaps someone could give me some clarification as to how the amount we bid on Google Product Ads reflects the product positioning on Google Shopping? We have a Google Product Data Feed which is then linked up to our Adwords account so that we can determine a PPC bid amount. In instances like this it doesn't seem to make sense that one person may be paying 10ppc and another 20ppc when the buyers criteria for sorting merchants was purely down to the price. Since the buyer has the option to sort their products in price from minimum to maximum the sort order cannot be manipulated by Google based on the amount the merchant was paying. As such, how is determining a cost per click figure relevant when the customer is searching by base price low > high on Google Shopping? Surely I should just set the limit to £0.01 and rely on the customer determining the sort order (which ultimately will lead to a higher conversion rate) than allowing Google to skew the results based on bidding 20-30 times this amount? I should state that I'm in the UK. I do realise that a high PPC amount will increase our chance of exposure on standard search pages but my question does relate solely to results listed on Google Shopping. Thanks for your help! Competitors using bots for AdWords ?
I was having a discussion with a SEO manager on a LinkedIn group about page speed (she pretends that page speed is not taken into account by Google for SERPs at all and claims that all of what Matt Cutts says is BS) ; and she explained that she is using bots to click on her client's competitors AdWords and "kill their daily budget" So my question is, if you run/manage AdWords campaigns, have you ever met noticed such a behaviour, past the few usual click fraud rate ? What is your average fraud rate ?

Doing Google Places for customer - best solution?
I work at a media agency in Denmark and I'm trying to open a Google Places-account for one of our retail-customers which is to be linked to the customers AdWords-account. I created a Places account and via bulk upload I submitted the customers 74 locations. I was then asked to verify my bulk upload, which I did. That's two weeks ago, and I've tried to get help from our Google contact but to little avail. Could the problem be that I am doing the places account on behalf of our customer, and thus when I am asked to verify the upload I supply my own information (contact phone and business name) rather than the customers? Have any of you had a similar experience? Is there an alternate path I can take to solve this?

Exact url dynamic keyword insertion
A competitor of ours is using dynamic keyword insertion for exact urls in our field. I'm not 100% clear on this, but isn't that not allowed in adwords? I am not one that usually turns in a competitor for shady doings, but I'm not sure what to do. Any advice?

Google Ads not showing
Hello, I am having some trouble with my google adwords. I decided to split my existing campaign into two campaigns, one for customers in the UK and one for the rest of the world. The keywords are the same - only the message is different. i.e. Tractor Parts Free UK shipping on Tractor parts mysite.com/tractor-parts & Tractor Parts Fast shipping to Europe from the UK mysite.com/Tractor-Parts According to Google Adwords my UK campaign has had no impressions and no clicks. However if I search for one of the keywords it appears in the search results with the UK text. Anyone got any ideas?
