Google omitting some entries
-
Hi,
I used this tool to test some domains. The tool can be found at
http://www.virante.com/seo-tools/duplicate-content
I have no questions about the other checks but with the similarity check.
My question is how do i get Google not to omit some entries very similar to the top 1000 pages on my site?
Will appreciate your answers, thanks.

Good response Ryan thank you once again.

I am trying to be helpful here. Your original question did not mention anything related to optimizing content. It sounds a whole lot more like you want to manipulate search engines into indexing your duplicate content. I've re-read your question a couple times and that is the only way I am able to interpret your question.
There is not a hard rule in that regard. Google will examine the percentage of duplicate content. They will understand rewording of the same content and view it as a duplication. You need to make the second page truly unique. The best suggestion I can offer is ask a second person to write a page on the same topic without allowing them to see the first page.
You can ask 5 people to write an article on the "Ford Mustang" and you can receive 5 completely different, unique articles. One could focus on resale value, another on the history of the mustang, another on racing, etc.
If you ask one person to reword the same article so it can be indexed a second time, you wont be happy with the results. Even if you do manage to get it indexed, you are one Panda update away from posting the famous "why did my rankings drop" question.

Thank you for your contribution Ryan
I am quite aware of writing for readers and always putting them first in everything beside that's what the search engines are interested in isn't in? I mean the readers finding quality relevant content through their engines.
What i am interesting after satisfying the first and primary part is optimizing the content for search engines, isn't that what SEO is all about? If most are providing quality content, all still have to compete for the limited top positions available isn't it?
Thank you for the feedback, will appreciate any other contribution.

You would need to change the content enough to where it was not seen as a duplication of the original information. You need to think of users and ask if they read the first article, what would make them want to read the second article?
If you are trying to reword the article for search engines, you are in the wrong mindset. Think of your readers.

Google News and Meta Title
Hi,
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | JohnPalmer
1. I just read this article: https://www.seroundtable.com/google-news-titles-h1-19876.html
Google want the same title. no problem. but what about the brand? for example
POST TITLE BLA BLU | My Brand
The "post title bla blu" is the H1 and title of the article and | My Brand is my brand...
I can keep it as is with the My brand? or remove it? what about posts with long title for example "POST TITLE BLA BLU POST TITLE BLA BLU | My Brand"
What is you suggestion, I know Google doesn't show all the text and we'll see "...". it's still important to write the brand name in the title or just the post title? (without the brand). Thanks,0 -

Google Reconsideration Request - Most Efficient Process
Hi, I'm working on a Google reconsideration request for a site with a longstanding penalty. Here's what I did: Round 1 Downloaded a CSV of all the domains and all the pages linking to the site. Went through the lot manually and sorted them into three types: Disavow Domain, Disavow Page, Keep - All low-quality domains were disavowed, all pages from places like blogspot with low-quality links on certain blogs were disavowed. Submitted disavow file, then sent a detailed reconsideration request including a link to the disavow file. Reconsideration request was not successful. Google gave two examples of links I should remove, bizarrely the examples they gave were already disavowed, which seemd a bit odd. So I took this to mean Google Webmaster Tools and disavow files were in themselves not enough. The links I kept were largely from PRWeb syndication which seems legit. Round 2

Here's what I'm doing now. Any ideas for how the below process can be improved to get the maximum chance of a successful request, please let me know. Get all linking pages from Webmaster Tools as before and also MajesticSEO's Historic Index. This gave me around three times more domains to remove. The additionnal domains from Majestic that weren't in Webmaster tools I just put them all in the disavow file. Conduct a manual link removal email campaign. I've got around 2500 domains to go through, so how can I best do this. My process at the moment is:
- Use software to get email addresses from whois records
- send them an email
- make a spreadsheet of responses
- include link to spreadsheet in Google Docs as well as link to new disavow file Should I research each site manually to get email addresses? It does seem rather a waste of an offshorer's time, from what I've seen some people use offshorers and others have used software tools successfully. The other thing is sending the emails, how can I do this? Any smtp email campaign site won't let me use their service because the emails are not opt-in, they classify it as spam. Does anyone know a solution to send 2500 emails legitimately from a webmail account for example? I'm having to send bulk emails to get rid of spam links. Finally most of the offending links have keyword anchor text from spun articles, I've deleted all the sites except EzineArticles. Would you delete this too, it's an awful site but client is hung up on it. ExineArticle links may have some value, on the other hand it's more of the same keyword-rich anchor text articles. Keep or disavow the individual pages? Finally, anything else I've missed? Anything to add? Thanks for all your help 🙂0 -
Why am I not ranking in Google, but I am in Yahoo and Bing?
The website in question is: www.stbarthexclusives.com Our keywords are currently ranking for both Bing and Yahoo, but we're not appearing anywhere on Google. The website is being crawled successfully, but we still don't have any results. I hoping somebody can point me in the general right direction to fix/correct this problem. Additionally, there's a decent amount of "rel=canonical tags" on the website. If that helps your evaluation. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

How does Google know if a backlink is good or not?
Hi, What does Google look at when assessing a backlink? How important is it to get a backlink from a website with relevant content? Ex: 1. Domain/Page Auth 80, website is not relevant. Does not use any of the words in your target term in any area of the website. 2. Domain/Page Auth 40, website is relevant. Uses the words in your target term multiple times across website. Which website example would benefit your SERP's more if you gained a backlink? (and if you can say, how much more would it benefit - low, medium, high).

Google alerts for products and categories?
I get daily Google alerts for our site and a competitor's site. I have noticed that I am getting multiple alerts a day from Google about products and product categories on the competitor's site. Every now and then there's an actual alert for a linking blog post or something else. How is Google noticing new product on this site but has never done the same for ours? Is there some kind of strategy involved here that I don't know about? The site is http://bit.ly/Q0o2ob

Google giving me only partial site links?
Hi Guys, My site is #1 ranked for the term "waiting till marriage," but Google only gives me partial site links. See "Forums - Articles - Questions - Videos" links in attached screenshot. How do I get the full, page-dominating, mini-description-having site links? Any suggestions? Note: I've got a ton of content and decent traffic, but I haven't put much time into developing back links yet. I'm a php developer, but I'm new to professional-level SEO. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Also, sorry about the inflammatory nature of the site. It's not a preachy site; it's just a support group. Hope it doesn't offend. partial-sitelinks.png
