Designed new website with new domain has more than 24 million links over night on seomoz, how has this happend?
-
I recently added http://www.ard.uk.com to seomoz, its a new site with a new domain. on the first overview its saying it has more than 24 million links and has a mozrank over 7, how is this possible?
-
It appears that you have a sub-subdomain of the domain uk.com; not a unique domain.
Thus, your data reports that uk.com has 24 million links; but this data does not reflect links to your little subdomain of that bigger domain.
You may have meant to buy the domain http://www.ard.co.uk
{ www.ard. <-- the subdomain(s) } { uk <-- the domain } {.com <-- the TLD }
vs. { www. <-- the subdomain } { ard <-- the domain } { .co.uk <-- the TLD )
-
Hi Francesco,
The problem is that .uk.com is not a true TLD, like .uk.com, .com, or .org, it's actually a subdomain of the domain uk.com. So those 24 million links you are seeing are for the domain uk.com and not your site. The true TLD for the UK is .co.uk and not .uk.com. So your website is really just a subdomain of a very big domain. To get information for your site you will only be able to look at the subdomain information and not the root domain level.

This might sound daft but just to be sure, is this perhaps an old domain that you have purchased on an auction, or one which has expired and you have re-registered? If so you can certainly inherit links which other people have built up.

Hi Francesco,
I can't see why this is happening, but I'm going to fire it over to the customer services guys to take a look. Sorry the response is slow in coming - I'm still getting used to the new Q&A system.
-
i dont understand how
-
I see you have Domain Authority of 71! Thats mad!

Saying No Data Available for this URL when I tried to look at it on Open Site Explorer. Perhaps someone at SEOMOZ has spotted that there is an issue here?
I would look to see where it says the most valuable of the links are actually coming from.
-
Is the domain new or did it have a site on it maybe before you got it?
-
Ive just deleted the campaign started a fresh and its the same crazy!!
-
That def seems to be an issue - as daft as this may sound - could you double check the URL?
If thats OK - try creating a new campaign and see if that replicates - if it does, it may be a bug with the campaign tool and one for the moz staff to look into.
-
this should load up the image, im probably doing somthing daft but ive checked everything and it all looks ok
-
Could you add a screenshot - I may be being thick - but I still dont get where you areseeing info - a screenshot may help a bit
-

Is there any way to get Moz to generate a regular (e.g. weekly) report of new links to my domain, automatically?
I want to know when new people link to my domain. I do not want to log in once a week and use a complex interface to figure this out, I want it in my inbox every week. Is there a way to get Moz to do this? (I am a PRO user) Cheers, Daniel

Are seomoz ranking in jeopardy?
A few weeks ago Raventools announced that they would no longer be able to provide tools based on the adwords API, then withdrew that. Rand commented on a thread here discussing that and made similar noises. Today Raventools made an announcement as SERP tracking with wording that sounded a lot like it had more than a little influence from Google. Would I be really paranoid to be wondering whether the Rankings tools in seomoz could be at risk?

How do you track new inbound links?
Hello Fellow SEOs, I've been charged with managing and tracking my company's linkbuilding efforts. I'd love to hear from others experienced in this area: -is there a way in OSE to sort links by date? -if this isn't possible, how can you tell what new links come in every month? Is this a manual process of downloading and comparing inbound links every week? This seems pretty tedious and I would love to hear what you all do and if there is a better way. I do have a Google Alert out for my company name, but that doesn't necessarily give me what I need. Thank you!

Why Is SEOMOZ No Longer crawling All Of My Site
Hi all, I joined Seomoz over a month ago and Roger has been crawling all of the pages on the site approx 20 pages. Through out the last few weeks I have been working on the errors and notices identified by Roger. However, this week Roger has only re-crawled 1 page and is not picking up all the other pages. Has any one come across this problem. can you recommend any thing to resolve it? Many thanks in advance....

Why are SEOmoz Pro Keyword Ranking reports different between two 301-linked URLs?
Hi, My main domain is www.dancenut.com. I have this 301 URL redirected to www.dancenut.com/boston/. I set up an SEOmoz Pro campaign for each of these URLs in order to see if they were being treated differently in any way. In most cases the report results are identical, or the small differences are understandable. However, there is one big difference between the two sets of campaign reports. In the Keyword Ranking reports, the data for the Bing and Yahoo! reports are identical, but the data for the Google reports are dramatically different. Out of 21 keywords, 9 are listed in the top 50 for www.dancenut.com, but only 2 are listed in the top 50 for www.dancenut.com/boston/ (the specific positions are the same for the 2 keywords that are listed for both). Does this make any sense? Could the SEOmoz Pro data be wrong? If not, then I'm suspicious that Google may not be interpreting the 301 redirect properly. I don't think this could be fully explained by a 1-10% reduction in link juice due to the 301 because I have one keyword for which my site ranks #1 in Google, Bing, and Yahoo! with www.dancenut.com, but it doesn't even rank in the top 50 in Google with www.dancenut.com/boston/. And why would these differences only exist for Google? Any insight would be much appreciated! Andrew

Duplicate page error from SEOmoz
SEOmoz's Crawl Diagnostics is complaining about a duplicate page error. I'm trying to use a rel=canonical but maybe I'm not doing it right. This page is the original, definitive version of the content: https://www.borntosell.com/covered-call-newsletter/sent-2011-10-01 This page is an alias that points to it (each month the alias is changed to point to the then current issue): https://www.borntosell.com/covered-call-newsletter/latest-issue The alias page above contains this tag (which is also updated each month when a new issue comes out) in the section: Is that not correct? Is the https (vs http) messing something up? Thanks!

Historical error info on SEOMoz?
Is it possible to get a report of errors that were on a site back in April? Does SEOMoz keep that data available? There was a big decline in the number of errors on one of my sites and I'm trying to go back and see what it was. --Steve
