Tread of backlinks after 301
-
After 301-ing a domain to a new domain, how should we tread the changing of the backlinks to the old domain?
We might be able to have a certain amount changed rather quickly.
Should we consider the new domain as a "new" domain, and in this sense, not have them changed quickly, (afraid to trip any filter)
Or wil Google see the new domain (after indexing) with the authority of the old domain, so , if the backlinks are direct or coming through a 301 will make no difference?
Hope my question is clear and excuses for my english
Thanks for reading and hoping for input,

The redirection of your old domain to the new one should clearlc indicate google that the site is actually the same, you have only changed the domain name. Google should handle this.

Thanks Zsolt,
Yes, you do understand what i mean.
"so google will see that the new domain got so many links so quick as it is a redirected old site."
The only thing i am afraid of is if i contact the sites and they change the link from the old to the new site, and i get many to do so quickly, google might frown up, because i am gaining to many links to fast wich are not 301-ed.

Maybe I can't get it right, but here a shot:
When you are redirecting the old site, every incoming link it has will loose about 10% link juice. If you can contact with the sites linking to you and change the links than go ahead and do thatas soon as you can, just be sure to do the 301 so google will see that the new domain got so many links so quick as it is a redirected old site.

301 Redirects for Multiple Language Sites in htaccess File
Hi everyone, I have a site on a subdomain that has multiple languages set up at the domain level: https://mysite.site.com, https://mysite.site.fr , https://mysite.site.es , https://mysite.site.de , etc. We are migrating to a new subdomain and I am trying to create 301 redirects within the htaccess file, but I am a bit lost on how to do this as it seems you have to go from a relative url to an absolute - which would be fine if I was only doing this for the english site, but I'm not. It doesn't seem like I can go from absolute url to an absolute url - but I could be wrong. I am new to editing the htaccess file - so I could definitely use some advice here. Thanks.

Htaccess or url rewrite module for Magento 301 redirects?
I need to do about 6000 redirects for a Magento site. The pages no longer exist. I have tried the URL rewrite module but it isn't working for me and I don't want to do 6000 redirects in the htaccess files. Any suggestions?

301 redirects
One of our employees took an SEO class recently. She was told that having too many 301 redirects can hurt SEO. I have never heard of 301 redirects as having a negative impact. Any thoughts?

301 redirects cross domains
Hi Moz Community. We have a client that has Website A and Website B. Website A is going to be replaced by Website C, a new website and brand. Some products sold on Website A are going to be split out to Website B & C. i.e. Say Website A sells eight products - then four will go to Website B and four to Website C. OUR QUESTION Technically we know we can 301 redirect the Website A products to the relevant Website B & Website C products. 1. Given this convoluted structure, will there be any negative ramifications for SEO? and; 2. Which website would you redirect the homepage to, B or C?

Effect Of Restoring Old Website After Implementing 301 Redirects
After redesigning my old Drupal website and launching a new "improved" Wordpress version the new version is performing badly. Ranking is poor and conversions don't occur. I realize that my new design is bad (no call to action, poor structure, text heavy). New business inquiries have ceased. The site contains 450 pages. After spending $25,000 and a year of my life I see the new version is not an improvement! What would be the effect of reinstating the old version of the site and doing 301 redirects back to it? Would the old rankings be restored? I need to decide whether I should revert or focus on fixing flaws in the improved design. Any thoughts?? Thanks,

Is a 301 to a 301 ok?
I have a site that has a lot of url differences. Due to coding we sometimes have to 301 to a page that is 301'd to another. Is there any danger in doing this?
