Part Number Variations 10-10-55-P or 101055p
-
I hope I'm not investing too much of the communities time but I diving into saving my site from the Panda or other unknown damage and have issues.
My two biggest selling parts are in a configuration like 10-10-55-P. They are low searched, maybe 50 people per month worldwide but this sale is crucial to us.
The manufacture ( which sells direct but more difficult to deal with, I think you still need to give them your birthday and sex to place an online order) has #1 and 2 rank, I have 3,4.
I have 3000 parts and focused. . The other 5 large competitive distributors have 100,000 to 1,000,000 parts and have more resources. Sometimes when I test 101055 or 10-10 55( which sometimes is used) I can drop to 7 or 8 and the competitive distributor beats out the manufacturer. I suspect because they get 1000 times more traffic.
Today I still am 3,4 for 101055p, but is there an organic strategy to address dashes and is capitalization import and should it be addressed to insure #3 organic rank?..

My opinion is that using two different variations of the same keyword in the title does not qualify as keyword stuffing.
However, I would suggest that you include the part name, too, like:
Part 101055, Gasket For Yamaha 2030 | 10-10 55
Just because some people may search for the part by name, and it is more descriptive.

In another question regarding keywords, another " authority told me if I make the title page::
101055 / 10-10 55.
That this would be keyword stuffing. What is your opinion?
-
If you are ranking for 101055p but not for 10-10-55-P, I would suggest that you ensure that both variations are:
- Present in the page title.
- Used at least 1-2 times in the page content.

P.O Box VS. Actual Address
We have a website (http://www.delivertech.ca) that uses a P.O Box number versus an actual address as their "location". Does this affect SEO? Is it better to use an actual address? Thanks.

When you add 10.000 pages that have no real intention to rank in the SERP, should you: "follow, noindex" or disallow the whole directory through robots? What is your opinion?
I just want a second opinion 🙂 The customer don't want to loose any internal linkvalue by vaporizing link value though a big amount of internal links. What would you do?

Google places keyword variations
Hi all, I have a site that is ranking #1 in Google Places for its main <city><keyword>search... but it does not rank for any of its basic keyword variations, which I find very confusing.</keyword></city> ie (just an example) Chicago Caterer (ranked #1 in google places)

Chicago Caterers (not ranked in google places)
Chicago Catering (not ranked in google places)
Chicago Catering Company (not ranked in google places)
Chicago Catering Companies (etc..) How can I secure a google places ranking for these simple keyword variations? Do I build links to the google plus page using that anchor text? Do I get citations that contain that keyword somewhere on the page? Do I optimize for these keyword variations on the actual website itself? (not the places listing). Obviously I don't stuff these keywords into the google places listing. Any help would be much appreciated!0 -
Google showing 10 million less links than October
I've received no messages from Google about 'iffy' links whatsoever, and the links they're reporting in Webmaster Toosl have declined by 10 MILLION since October. We did go through a CMS upgrade in December which I believe had some impact, and then I set a preferred domain at the end of last month, but we were bleeding links before then. Any idea what could have happened? We don't engage in any link building schemes whatsoever, and like I mentioned, I've received no messages at all from Google regarding a penalty.

Drop in number of pages in Bing index
I regularly check our index inclusion and this morning saw that we had dropped from having approx 6,000 pages in Bing's index to less than 100. We still have 13,000 in Bing's image index, and I've seen no similar drop in the number of pages in either Google or Yahoo. I've checked with our dev team and there have been no significant changes to the sitemap or robots file. Has anybody seen anything like this before, or could give any insight into why it might be happening?

High number of items per page or low number with more category pages?
In SEO terms, what would be the best method: High number of items per page or low number with more pages? For example, this category listing here: http://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/90/fsx-civil-aircraft/ It has 10 items per page. Would there be any benefit of changing a listing like that to 20 items in order to decrease the number of pages in the category? Also, what other ways could you increase the SEO of category listings like that?

Hidden Text? Part of the game or a major faux pas?
Hey all... I've been doing some competitive analysis lately on different niches in different cities, and upon looking at source code have noticed MANY sites(typically 2-3 of the top listed sites in each niche) who have hidden text, blocked by a box/logo, colored the same as the background, or both. Is this a typical practice? My understanding is Google seriously frowns on this, so is it worth reporting competitors who are doing such things? I don't see any grey areas in this matter and think it's a serious violation, but here these sites are at the top.
