Big changes in beginning of december
-
For one of our biggest sites I noticed a big difference in ranking drops in the beginning of december. The site is in Swedish so the google updates are a bit different than for google.com. For many of our keyword we dropped far down in the SERPs. Most of the keywords we had at top 10, or top 20, but these got first dropped down to 100/150+ but since then they have started to gain a bit, not near the previous results though.
For our main keyword (a really high competitive keyword) we got dropped totally (+200). The site is about 7 years old, have good content, regulary updated (1-2 news a day, 2-4 new articles a week).
Our traffic is still pretty good, actually almost the same as previous the big drop for the "hard" keyword. We seem to get more traffic for our long tail keywords instead, which is good. I would like be able to get traffic from both types of keywords though.
One more thing to add. I have notice that a couple of our competitors, both in this area and other, also got hit in the same way. This should mean that some sort of google update/filter has hit us.
So, in short, my question is if anyone knows about a update/filter in the beginning of december for the Swedish market. And, how can we work ourselves back?
Edit: Also, the site ranks number one for the titel of the page and for the titel of the hard keywords, the site also ranks number one. The "right" pages also gets in the top when I do a seach for "site:domain.com keyword".

Perhaps you are right about the links but it feels strange that we have dropped that far down in that case. We have around PA 57 and DA 48 with almost 250 root domains linking which is quite high comparing to the competitors. Even though some of the links got devaluated, we shouldn't drop 100-200 places for many of our more difficult keywords.
I will continue working with the links, and go through the onpage seo to see if I can turn things around. Would be sad to let the site go.

I don't have a specific answer in regards to the Swedish market, but if this happened to me, I would go on the notion that some links that are pointing to the site have been devalued, based on the other information you provided.
Sounds like an effort to earn high quality authority links will be needed to re-gain those rankings.

Why Google Is Changing our Title Tags?
Hi fellow Moz SEOs, Need your URGENT help! We set an optimised title for our client websites. These titles are approved by our clients. When they checked on Google, noticed the title was not the same. They notified me about this issue. The title looks fine when I checked the source code. Why Google set our title differently? For example: Title approved by client: Heart Specialist Clinic Singapore | Cardiology Clinic | Dr. Lim Ing Haan
International SEO | | Verz
**Google set our title: **Dr. Lim Ing Haan: Heart Specialist Clinic Singapore ... Title approved by client: Hernia Surgery Singapore | Arden JR Surgery
**Google set our title: **Arden JR Surgery: Hernia Surgery Singapore Title approved by client: Top Specialist Divorce & Family Lawyer - Yeo & Associates LLC
Google set our title: Yeo & Associates LLC: Top Specialist Divorce & Family Lawyer Title approved by client: Child care Centre in Singapore| Top Preschool | Carpe Diem
Google set our title: Carpe Diem: Child care Centre in Singapore| Top Preschool Every day, they are requesting me to update Google's title with their approved title. Also, asking me these questions.
Why did this happen?
Why didn't set their recommended title? Is there any way to set our approved titles? Please, help me to find the solution. ASAP Thanks in advance!0 -

Changing the language of the website meta title and description?
Hello, Moz community! I'm planning to change the language of my website title and description from English to rank better for queries on the local language. Do you think this would increase the local language ranking? And in case I need to switch back to English, let's say in 2021, would it be difficult to regain the current rankings? Please let me know if you have any thoughts on this. Thank you!

How can I change the currency Google lists my products with in the SERP?
I.e. This product - http://www.absoluteautomation.ca/fgd400-sensaphone400-p/fgd400.htm - shows up as USD in the SERP. (In the US it just won't show a currency, if Canada it will show USD on the SERP). My pricing is all in CAD, how can I tell Google this? (It knows pricing is CAD in my Google Product Listings/Merchant Center). Thanks!

Impact changing domain from ccTLD to .com
I've got a couple of clients who have an international market for their products or services. Both of these clients have a .co.uk domain. For one site the US market is the major audience, the other it's european countries. At the moment, neither of these clients have translated page or content targeted to a specific country. There are no plans at this stage to create such content. Google considers the .co.uk to be targeted to the United Kingdom. The assumption is that by changing this to .com it will increase their international reach. For both the domains, referral and direct traffic is much more diverse than organic (which as you'd expect is heavily UK weighted - but there is some international organic traffic) Does anyone have any experience making such a change? How did the change affect your international reach/visibility? Does anyone have any metrics that they'd like to share that could be used to make a case to clients? (Note, I'm not interested in how you'd go about handling the domain change - I'm happy/confident about doing this.)

Change domain from .es to .com
Hi all, we have a website with 2 domains name to point to it: -hacerfamilia.es -hacerfamilia.com We used to take .es like the default domain, so the .com redirected to the .es with a 301 header. But now we decided to change to .com because it is more international. So default domain would be .com. We made a multiple redirect to .es to .com with a simple htaccess rule, with a 301 header. The hosting it is the same, and the address too, for the two domains. Should we take any other steps? Thank you.

Http://us.burberry.com/: Big traffic change for top URL (error 593f1ceb2d67)
Please forgive duplicating this question on the SEOMoz & Webmaster Tools forum but I'm hoping to hit both audiences with this question... A few days ago I noticed that our US homepage (us.burberry.com) had dropped from PR5 to PR0, and the page has been deindexed by Google. After checking Webmaster Tools I also received the following message: http://us.burberry.com/: Big traffic change for top URL April 2, 2012Search results clicks for http://us.burberry.com/ have decreased significantly.Message ID: 593f1ceb2d67.We're not doing any link building at all (we've enough on-site issues to deal with). The only changes I have made are adding Google Analytics to the website, uploading sitemaps via Webmaster Tools (it's not linked to from robots.txt yet), and setting the burberry.com and www.burberry.com geo-location settings to 'unlisted' (we want uk.burberry.com appearing in the UK results, us.burberry.com appearing in the US results etc rather than www.burberry.com).I've reversed the geo-location settings but I doubt this would have caused this. We've duplicate copies of our homepage (such as us.burberry.com/store//) from typos in inbound links (and bad programming that allows them to work rather than 404'ing) but I don't think any of this is new. What I don't understand is (a) why this is happening now and (b) why is this just affecting our US homepage? We've ~40 different duplicates of the homepage (us, uk, ca, pt, ro, sk etc etc) so why is the US site being affected and not the others? Does anyone know if this is due to an algorithm change by Google or something else all together? Background:Our website www.burberry.com has 46 subdomains such as uk.burberry.com, ca.burberry.com and us.burberry.com. There is a lot of duplicate content on each subdomain (including basic things like tracking parameters in URLs) and across subdomains (uk.burberry.com/store & us.burberry.com/store are exactly the same), there's very little text on the site (its nearly all images), as well as poor redirects, inaccessible content (AJAX/Flash) and a whole host of basic SEO things that aren't being done correctly. I've joined the company in the last few months and have started addressing these issues but I've got a LOT of work to do yet.One thing that we have in our favour is a link profile that is as clean and natural as they come - there was only ever one link building campaign performed (which was before my time) and I had all of those links removed as soon as I joined the company.Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your timeDean RoweEdit: us.burberry.com 301 redirects to us.burberry.com/store/ as explained on the webmaster tools forum, but I don't believe this is the cause as its the same across all subdomains.
