What is the Ideal Structure for User Generated Product Reviews on My Site?

I apologize for the lengthy post, but I need help!
Here is my current structure for product reviews:
My product pages displays a set number of user product reviews before displaying a link to "see all reviews". So:
Has product details, specs (usually generic from manufacturer) and 5 user product reviews. If there are more than 5, there is a link to see all reviews:
Where each page would display 10 user product reviews, and paginate until all user reviews are displayed.
I am thinking about using the Rel Canonical tag on the paginated reviews pages to reference back to the main product page. So:
Would have the canonical URL of:
Does this structure make sense? I'm unclear what strategy I should use, but currently the product review pages account for less than 2% of overall organic traffic.

If your current product page has variations but only varies based on the reviews it is showing then there is not really anything unique (bar the reviews) on these pages and the main content (product details) is the same.
Maybe something like what Amazon does:
1. Main Product page with some reviews or snippets
2. Reviews page (dynamic) which the primary content is the reviews
Then, the different review pages can rank on their own merit and all that user generated content does not go to waste.
You could use a static URL for your product page and a dynamic URL for your reviews page so it would be something like this:
/category/product-name.html
/category/product-name/reviews/?page=1
/category/product-name/reviews/?page=2
/category/product-name/reviews/?page=3

Perhaps I'll need a few glasses myself to decipher your message? I kid I kid.
I believe the structure you are referring to is what I currently have. The main product page, and additional pages with paginated user reviews. The only difference is your example list static URLs for the paginated reviews vs using a page # parameter as I have.
And could you please clarify:
"if you use rel canonical back to your main product page you are losing the benefit of all of those additional reviews."
What would happen in a scenario such as:
- I'm a spider, crawling through your product review pages
- On the 2nd page, a very nice, useful, thorough product review
- That 2nd page rel canonicals back to the main product page
- There is a SE query matching the 2nd page product review exactly
Would the main product page be listed on the SERPs, or since there was a rel canonical URL of the main product page, it poofs and disappears altogether?

Hmm, it's a tricky one but surely, if you use rel canonical back to your main product page you are losing the benefit of all of those additional reviews.
Just spitballing here but would it not be better to have the main product page with the first five or so reviews on and then create unique, paginated pages for the product reviews with a summary of the product details (so the reviews were the primary content).
So, we would have
product-name.html
product-name-reviews-page1.html
product-name-reviews-page2.htmlThis way, you get lots of nice long tail potential from the additional review pages that summarise the product, show the unique reviews and make it VERY easy to link back to the main product page to buy?
Seems a shame to have loads of great user generated reviews and then stop yourself ranking for them. Just make the purpose of the page clear as reviews of and the path to the main page very clear so user A with concern X can have his fears allayed and click through to buy.

Site structure / IA out of balance? What does that mean to SEO?
I often see commentators mentioning out of balance site structures/IA but what does this actually mean in SEO terms? For example, Yoast advises: "If one category grows much larger than others, your site’s pyramid could be thrown off balance." Neil Patel advises "Try to balance the amount of subcategories within each category. Basically, try to keep it approximately even. If one main category has fourteen subcategories, while another main category has only three subcategories, this could become a little unbalanced." Does this have any direct influence on SEO (crawlability, etc.) or is this more a UX issue? I look forward to receiving your feedback.

Product page as homepage
Hello, Is it ok that to use the homepage of website as a product page directly where you present all your products on your homepage or can it penalise you to do that ? and in that case, is it better to have a homepage that you don't rank and create a subpage for your product page. Thank you,

Redirecting Ecommerce Site
Hi I'm working on a big site migration I'm setting up redirects for all the old categories to point to the new ones. I'm doing this based on relevancy, the categories don't match up exactly but I've tried to redirect to the most relevant alternative. Would this be the right approach?

Is there an issue with my site?
Been mostly hanging around top of page two for the last couple of years for “Liverpool Wedding photographer” although got myself on page 1 for “Liverpool photographer” I have split the title of the page to target these two keywords. I took the Liverpool photographer off the title to see if it was being detrimental to the “Liverpool wedding photographer” I didn’t see no increase in ranking so put it back as I get a bit of commercial work from it. Since last year I have got onto page 1 at least three times around position 5-6. Within a week or two I start sliding down again and end up back at top of page two. I could understand this slow push out if my competitors were busy SEO wise but from what I have seen they are not. There is a guy using the keywords in URL and calls himself “Liverpool wedding photographer” last time I checked he literally had no links but is in the first 5 positions. I have I think a better link profile than every one else. Although I am on and off with Facebook and Instagram, (more off) so that probably isn’t helping. Although I have a colleague in the video side of things and he doesn’t use social media at all and it hasn’t harmed him. A few years ago I was burned quite badly by a total charlatan. He sunk my home page to page 4. He talked the talk about creating landing pages but his methods were shoddy to say the least. I can’t believe I was taken in by him, although I was only with him for 2 months. He was still using spammy link techniques to generate lots of toxic links for me! I disavowed all of his links and put the keywords back on the home page and was back to my usual top of page 2 position within a week. Since then I have disavowed all directory links and anything not wedding related. I have an article which ranks 1st or second for “Nikon CLS”. I have also another article of 2000 words or so on another reasonable placed photography website. A few links from other vendors or people I have taken photographs for. I have about 10 featured weddings with a link on 4 good weddings blogs. I don’t think a massive amount of blog comments although I have stopped doing this. If I look at most of the competitors these are their main links, with directories as well! Last winter I put a quite substantial article about documentary wedding photography on my home page. I flew to number 2, although I photographed The World Transformed (the alternative labour conference in Liverpool). I got a lot of clicks to a gallery page (few thousand off social media} so I don’t know if that coincided with it. Same thing – watching the website go down a few positions every day until within just over a week or two I was about 4<sup>th</sup> on page 2! Its like my website is on a spring which can push into page 1 but rebounds back to top of page 2. I am staring to worry that my site has been marked as a bad character in some way because I get what seems to be rough treatment from google compared to my peers. I have written I think 4 or 5 (1500 word) articles the last couple of months talking about lenses and wedding photography related topics and Google pushed me back to page 1, peaking At position 5. I was there for a few weeks and then the slide happened again. Bit demoralised at the moment, what to do? Any help or pointers would be most appreciated. Best wishes. David.

Migrating a very large site
