Why does SEOMoz crawler ignore robots.txt?
-
The SEOMoz crawler ignores robots.txt
It also "indexes" pages marked as noindex.
That means it is filling up the reports with things that don't matter.
Is there any way to stop it doing that?

Hi Alan,
The code should be ok
Try to "drive-test" it with a custom crawl from http://pro.seomoz.org/tools/crawl-test then you will see if it works well.
I am glad the link was useful.

Thank you István
I added this:
User-agent: rogerbot
Disallow: /sendtoafriend/
Disallow: /photo/
Disallow: /pix/- because crawlers shouldn't go down those paths and roger is detecting pages without descriptions.
Is what I added OK?

Hi,
You can block RogerBot from Robots.txt
Check for further instructions on: http://www.seomoz.org/dp/rogerbot
"Please note: Adding this code will prevent our crawl test tool from being able to crawl your website."

Can't work out robots.txt issue.
Hi I'm getting crawl errors that MOZ isn't able to access my robots.txt file but it seems completely fine to me? Any chance anyone can help me understand what might be the issue? www.equip4gyms.co

Open Site Explorer & SEOMoz Bar for Chrome Showing Different Numbers
When I run a report on OSE checking for linking root domains, the number is always different from the number of root domain links that the SEOMoz bar shows in Chrome. For example on OSE a site shows 88 root domain links, but in the SEOMoz bar, it shows 110 root domain links. I've tested this issue with several sites and there is always a discrepancy in the number of root domain links. Does anyone know which one is actually correct and why this might be happening? Thanks.

SEOmoz campaign - keyword rankings...
Hi there, I have a quick question: Does it make a difference if I add keywords to a campaign with the '[' and ']' brackets included? I just realized that I had copy/pasted many of my keywords from the exported CSV from the Google AdWords Keyword Tool and I fear that the keyword rankings on SEOmoz might factor the brackets as part of the keywords themselves. Thanks in advance! Ben

SEOMOZ can we trust you?
I was thinking today what are the chances that SEOMOZ can look into my campaigns and see what keywords I am targeting, strategies etc. and then sell that information to others? There has to be some type of clause when you sign up correct? But who knows because I'm not sure. Having Rand and Matt Curts talking via twitter to each other kind of concerns me. Not that I'm worried that Google will know my strategies because we don't do any black-hat linking and anything shady but how much power does SEOMOZ really have and can they leak any information to other companies or Google? Scary stuff that's why I don't put all my eggs into one basket, I spread them out. Thoughts? Thanks in advance - Brett Shaffer

Seomoz bar: No Follow and Robots.txt
Should the Mozbar pickup 'nofollow" links that are handled in robots.txt ? the robots.tx blocks categories, but is still show as a followed (green) link when using the mozbar. Thanks! Holly ETA: I'm assuming that- disallow: myblog.com/category/ - is comparable to the nofollow tag on catagory?
