Removing important section of website, safely

Hi Mozzers,
It's been requested that a top level page on a website I'm working on should be removed.
It concerns me firstly because there are some nice links coming into that page.
I'm also worried because website director has suggested the menu option for that page should simply be removed from all navigation, so you can't find the 'removed' page via his website, but it remains as an indexed page passing linkjuice to website. Is that a risky approach from an SEO perspective?
What's the best approach to this?

- Make sure that the old URL is at least 301 redirected to a "current" URL to pass on the link juice
- Next, see if you can contact all the external link sources that point to the old page & ask them to update to point to a different page (if possible)

HTML and XML sitemaps for one website.
Hi all, First, we have created a HTML sitemap for our wordpress website. Then we again generated XML sitemap and submitted same in search console. It's been more than a week and still new XML sitemap has not been indexed yet. I can still only see HTML sitemap for search results "company sitemap". Also search console do have only XML sitemap. Both sitemaps are accessible but only HTML has been indexed. Is there anything wrong having 2 sitemaps? Why XML sitemap not been indexed? Thanks

Creating a new website, but I'd like to control it under a different domain.
I'd like to control it under the domain of another website with a higher DA. Can I create the new website (website A) and do an immediate re-direct to another website (website B)? Or would I be better at putting it as a subdomain? Such as www.websitea.websiteb.com? Cheers all, Rhys

Seperating Different Parts Of The Website
Hi There, I have a client with two parts to his business both for different types of customer with different language and copy needed. At the moment they have one website and I am trying to figure out the most search engine friendly way to present these different types. So for example if a client came in looking for service A, he would see the home page for service A and if he came in looking for service B he would come across the home page for service B. I know I could have seperate service pages for each service he provides, but I think it would be off putting to come to a home page of a site and see completely unrelated services on one page. I hope I am explaining myself here. As far as I can see the options are:- subdomains for servicea.examplesite.com, serviceb.examplesite.com and a split page (see attachement) where you click which you are interested in (don't like this idea) seperate websites a home page which shows all the services (too confusing) Any advice would be most grateful. Traffic Dropping To Website

I have noticed up to 50% of traffic coming to the website drops off at the home page point,
and drops further from other pages on the site. I realise some may possibly say that this could be down to various factors such as server issues, poor web design, or the wrong traffic reaching the site I have did corrected the following: There was an issue with there being www.domain.com and www.domain.com/home, Screaming Frog and Moz showed that these both had duplicate meta tagging issues. Initially I had created a separate page called 'home' to include in the main nav bar under the slider, but yesterday I replaced this page with a request in the functions.php to place 'home' in the nav bar as a redirect back to the home www.domain.com page. This works great. So I now have the following 301 permanent redirects: non-www to www resolve in the htaccess file, plus 2 permanent 301 redirects in the nav bar. I wonder if this is acceptable protocol re the nav bar redirects, and I wonder if you could possibly advise if the actions that I have taken will have any negative impact on the web seo, link structure, crawlability or indexing. New Re-design will my website rankings drop?
Hi guys, I have had to re-design my site although we are only 4 months into the seo game we have seen some good progress with our rankings. My question is there anything I need to consider before implementing the new designs so it doesn't effect my current rankings or any of our SEO work. Our current designs are content thing and so we have had to create more content to better optimize our site, however if doing so will this loose our current ranking position? Apperciate any advice around this Thanks

Websites with only one "html file" and page href # is good for SEO?
