Proportion of traffic from adwords vs organic search

Hi People,
I wanted to know if anyone knows what typical click through rates of paid vs organic search results are. We seem to be experiencing a very low click through rate with our organic search results versus our adwords and it seems to be getting worse.
For example our website www.natureshop.co.uk ranks 4th for the search phrase "icebreaker" in google.co.uk (and we are the first online retailer). We are the first adwords listing as well.
For the past 3 months we have had 867 clicks through our organic listing and yet with adwords we had 14,000 clicks. This seems pretty strange to me.
Both have conversion rates of around 5%.
Do you think these sorts of stats are becoming the norm for brand based searches? (icebreaker is a merino wool clothing brand).
Adwords also says that there were around 125,000 impressions of this phrase in the search network for this period. Which means with a ranking of 4th our click through rate is less than 1%?
If anyone else can share their experience or provide some commentary on this it would be much appreciated.

Not logged in, no location set, I've got you coming in 6th naturally here, just below a block of videos, and well below the fold. Might be that many searches, but you're below what I would consider just-as-relevant (and then Wikipedia, sigh) content. 1% CTR is not bad for slice #6.

These numbers are actually pretty close to what I usually see. There are exceptions and it can be wildly different depending on the results, type of business, etc.
1% might seem low for 4th position, but I've actually seen that quite a bit. The traffic estimates by Google are usually BS. Are you looking at broad match or exact match?
Also, I know "icebreaker" is your brand, but it is a pretty vague search term. As you said, you're the first retailer. I see other results; something about a ship, etc.
I also see Amazon up there, which is a well-known brand. Sometimes it's not the fact that you're being out-ranked, but by whom you are being out-ranked. What I mean is, if you were being out-ranked by lesser-known brands, then you would probably see better CTR. But Amazon is super well-known.
All those things combined, not bad I would think.
To answer your question though, it really all depends on the brand. I work with a group that is very well-known right now. And their brand terms bring more traffic than any other type of terms.

How to know competitors keywords for adwords
I want to run google campaign for adwords and I want to target keywords that my competitor is ranking for. How can I know what are the keywords that are helping my competitors the most. Trademarked words in in Google Adwords ads - Why do competitors get to use them?
Hi, The keyword I want to use in my ad is trademarked, so they disqualified my ad. The trademark was specifically cited as the reasoning. I tried this across maybe 5 different ads. All disqualified The thing I don't understand is that there are like 10 other advertisers who are actively using this "trademarked" word in their ads. It's not like 1 scooted past Google, there's a ton of advertisers doing it. So how do I get past them or were they grandfathered in or something? FYI... I tried dynamic insert to see if that could my "trademarked" word in the back door, but no luck. Any other ideas? Thanks!

No paid results for specific search term?
Just doing some research for a potential PPC campaign. For the search terms I'm looking to target, no paid results appear wither above or to the right of the organic SERPs. Does anyone know the reason for this? Search term "Cigar Merchants" Is this because the search term is smoking related? Thanks!

Yahoo Showing Adwords URLS in Organic Results
a client is getting adwords campaign url's showing up high in the SERPs, like 2 spots under the original page. The actual unique page is number one, and number three is the same page except the url is pulled from and adwords click My guess is that yahoo is crawling adsense and mistakenly following it as a link. It's crazy that it ranks on the 3rd page though... At the same time I have recently seen 25 pages deindexed in Google! How could this happen - could these two be related. I read this forum post about similar things happening in yahoo to their site Could this be a duplicate content issue (copyscape is showing no duplicate content) or are my pages getting indexed for some other reason?

Curious about Adwords keyword tool results.
Why the Google Adwords Keywords tool says there are 0 local monthly searches for a keyword or shows a dash, but in spite of this there's competition for those keywords (up to 0.42 in some cases) ? Thanks!!

Adwords and Analytics figures not matching up
We are currently running a A/B test on a landing page using only adwords to split the traffic. Looking at the figures in adwords has given us a higher number of conversions than the analytics is giving us in transactions. The conversion rate is also different. The only visitors this page is getting is from Adwords. Can someone please help us understand why this is? Cheers Al

Do Google Autofill and Instant Search affect Adwords' Keyword Tool reports?
While performing keyword research around the term "windows", I noticed the keyword "windo" gets 18,000 global monthly searches with .23 competition. Why is this? Do y'all think the Google Autofill and Instant Search features affect reports generated by using the Google Adwords keyword tool? For example, if a user starts typing a search query only to find the site they were looking for before they finished typing the search query, does Google count the partial keyword the user never finished typing into the Adwords Keyword report? I've always wondered about this. Sometimes I find it tempting to attack a misspelled keyword because of the massive search volume and low competition for that keyword. I realize that many consumers may not be very good at spelling, and this may reflect a large search volume towards a misspelled keyword. On the other hand, I see this trend of high volume, misspelled keywords many times while performing keyword research for a variety of clients. Thanks.

Your Google AdWords account has been permanently suspended for repeated violation of AdWords or Landing Page and Site policies in this or a related account.
My client nor I received any warning. We even had a google adwords team optimize the account and my rep does not yet know the reason for the ban. Not sure if its related but their google organic rankings dropped significantly at the same time. https://adwords.google.com/support/aw/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=164786 Any advice here? Do these Questions get indexed by google? I will ask my client if I can disclose the domain. Is there any way around a permanent ban? They were spending 50K per month. Is this enough to have any clout?
