Seomoz toolbar - Server location
-
Hello,
We target french countries and it seems IP server location is important.
So we took some hosting at Planete Hoster (located in Canada) with French IP, but our seomoz toolbar says our website is located in Canada
See:
Could you please explain? do we need to change the hoster and to take one in France or this one is ok?
Thank you for your answer

Sorry for responding late, I was on a lunch brake
-
Which other tool do you also use to see the location?
-
Thank you

Hi Nova,
It seems to be some kind of bug. I have checked with several tools I have and all of them pointed out that the website is hosted in France.
Maybe you should point this out to SEOmoz help team, so the team can check it up, and resolve bugs in the system.
Gr.,
Istvan

Should I use location in keywords in a campaign?
We're setting up 25 campaigns for clients and many of the keywords in each are identical. Rather than creating a keyword with a specific location for each client (pool builder san francisco), would it be more effective to use only "pool builder" as the keyword and then set the location for the San Francisco area? I'm concerned that we are going to run out of our keyword allotment since many of our clients have multiple locations.

Changing the way SEOmoz Detects Duplicate Content
Hey everyone, I wanted to highlight today's blog post in case you missed it. In short, we're using a different algorithm to detect duplicate pages. http://moz.com/blog/visualizing-duplicate-web-pages If you see a change in your crawl results and you haven't done anything, this is probably why. Here's more information taken directly from the post: 1. Fewer duplicate page errors: a general decrease in the number of reported duplicate page errors. However, it bears pointing out that: **We may still miss some near-duplicates. **Like the current heuristic, only a subset of the near-duplicate pages is reported. **Completely identical pages will still be reported. **Two pages that are completely identical will have the same simhash value, and thus a difference of zero as measured by the simhash heuristic. So, all completely identical pages will still be reported. 2. Speed, speed, speed: The simhash heuristic detects duplicates and near-duplicates approximately 30 times faster than the legacy fingerprints code. This means that soon, no crawl will spend more than a day working its way through post-crawl processing, which will facilitate significantly faster delivery of results for large crawls.

SEOmoz Campaign Setup: What would you do?
I've been using moz for nearly a year now. Initially when I set up our site (rac.com.au) it was as a single campaign for the rac.com.au domain. However, our business has a number of different product offerings and marketing teams (Insurance, finance, travel/tourism, automotive, security etc) - would I be better off setting each of these 'sub' brands as a campaign on their own using the 'folder' campaign setup? For example, have a campaign setup for the Insurance business (rac.com.au/insurance) folder, Finance business (rac.com.au/finance) and so forth? The advantage I see to the folder campaign setup is more specific reporting for each of the business units. Are there disadvantages to this? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Ryan

SEOmoz not displaying correct amount of links?
When I go to the link analysis page where ti shows how many links my site has and how many my competitors have...it shows that I have 0 links. But Google Webmaster Tools shows my site as having 149 links. Is this a glitch with zeomoz or whats going on? The reason I initially subscribed to seomoz was to track my links. Thanks

How to remove Duplicate content due to url parameters from SEOMoz Crawl Diagnostics
Hello all I'm currently getting back over 8000 crawl errors for duplicate content pages . Its a joomla site with virtuemart and 95% of the errors are for parameters in the url that the customer can use to filter products. Google is handling them fine under webmaster tools parameters but its pretty hard to find the other duplicate content issues in SEOMoz with all of these in the way. All of the problem parameters start with ?product_type_ Should i try and use the robot.txt to stop them from being crawled and if so what would be the best way to include them in the robot.txt Any help greatly appreciated.

SEOMoz says i have errors but goole webmaster doesnt show them - which one is right ?
I have about 350 websites all created in farcry 4.0 cms platform. When i do a site crawl using any seo tool ( seomoz, raven, screaming frog) it comes back telling me I have duplicate titles, description and content for a bunch of my pages. The pages are the same page its just that the crawl is showing the object Id and the friendly URL which is autocreated in the CMS as different pages. EXAMPLE these are the samge page but are recognised as different in SEOMOZ crawl test and therefore flagged as having duplicate title tags and content ... <colgroup span="1"><col style="width: 488pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 23771;" span="1" width="650"></colgroup>

Now i believe i can fix this by chucking in a rel=canonical at the top of each page ? (a big job over 350 sites) But even so - my problem is that the website developers are telling me that SEOMOZ and all the other tools are wrong - that google will see these the way it should, that the object ID's would not get indexed ( although i have seen at least one object id show up in the serps.) Do i believe the developers and trust that google has it sorted or go through the process of hassling the developers to get a rel=canonical added to all the pages? (the issue sees my homepage as about 4 different pages www.domain.com/  www.domain.com/home  /index AND object id.0 -

We only need a line or two. Anything about what you think of our tools, how they have helped, etc., would be great! Thank you in advance, and I assure you this will not be a regular use of Q&A!
