Conversion Rate - site feedback

Hi
We gave a website a bit of a facelift last nov with the aim of increasing its position within Search Engines and getting it to begin making sales.
The site: www.funkyfootstools.com is now moving in the right direction for its keyphrases, footstools and ottomans although it still needs some work. The issue I have is that from the visitors that come to the site, the stats prove they have a look around, they are just not purchasing - I am not sure if this is because of the layout, ie. usability or if there is something else.
Any ideas & feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Carl

Nice clean design, but not always to-the-point
- Use a pay-off at the header of the page (what can I find at this page)
- Change the elements "his week's featured footstools" and the black-and-white ilustrations (just show your product!!)
- Change the colour of your "Add to basket'" button and make the button more prominent
- Delete the red-white socks on a product detail page (and other pages exept the homepage). It's nice to use it at the homepage as a gimmick, but on every page it may be iritating. Your products are beautifull, show them!! Not the socks!
- Redesign your product detail pages: let the product be the most important part of the page not a big purple header, not the navigation on the left. Relocate 'free delivery" etc to a place above the fold.
- Remove the category navigation at your shopping basket page, just show the basket and the service claims like free delivery.
- Change the colour of your "checkout" button and simplify the form, just visit large webshops for examples.
Good Luck!

Add mentioned by Mcarle, FOOTSTOOLs is your priority here. At first glance, I assume you are selling socks.
Suggestions:
1. Add real images of footstools, not the black and white designs
2. Move "This week's featured footstools" and "Free delivery" above the fold
3. Run a usability test using www.usertesting.com
4. Make the product the focus on the product pages, not the header (with socks)
5. Change the colour of your "Add to basket'" button
If possible, I would also remove the following step in the process and include in on the product page (with remove item): http://www.funkyfootstools.com/basket.asp?cat=3&prod=148
Best of luck!

Cute site, & I think the cute might be the problem.
As much as I love the image of the socks & feet...& the bright purple & green colors, they do not match your product descriptions of
The benchstool is individually hand built using the finest aniline leather by skilled craftsmen at our own workshop.
In the US I can go to any furniture outlet & buy the "same" product for much less still with leather mass produced in china. Yes, I know it is produced in China, but it will only cost me $99.00
Pottery Barn has the opposite idea, they look like a gallery & have very simple BG.
Think about two main ideas:
1. Your selling footstools, so make the FOOTSTOOL the main attraction in your site, not the feet with funky stripped socks & purple banners...
2. If you are selling based on UNIQUE ARTISAN QUALITY then spend a few pages showing us that artisan craft shop...The leather, the tools, the work bench.. convince us this is a hand made piece of art & not mass produced...

Any Reports on Conversion Rate Drops in 2014?
I'm looking for some reports about conversion rate changes over the past year as well as any trends you may have noticed about ecommerce conversion rates because we are seeing something quite odd. We are seeing a large drop in overall conversion rates on some sites I manage this year despite seeing significant revenue growth. When I looked through the stats I found something interesting. Our conversion rates have actually increased on each of the three device types (desktop, tablet and mobile) but because there is a huge surge in visits from mobile devices (the device with the lowest conversion rates) and a large decline in vistis from our top convertor (desktop) our overall conversion rates are down. This is especially troubling to me because my bonus was based on increasing conversion rates and I could use some help from you to see if others in the industry are facing this issue or not. Thanks

Adwords and Seller Ratings
We are in the process of having an agency take over an adwords account. Will we lose our seller ratings? The website we are advertising will not change, just the adwords account. Based on what I've read google pulls data from display URL. We were concerned with losing them as we've had a CTR% since they started showing up in our search ads. They will NOT be using our account, but they will be adding us to their MCC & granting us access. Thank You!!

Is it better to get a new site instead of maintaining a category? I'm stuck.
If you had a website "Food for Dogs" and: Food for German shepherds was improving in search traffic & conversions Snack Food for German shepherds had no change and never resulted in conversions but resulted in many leads for #1 Food for Poodles was unchanged but improving conversions Here's the kicker... Food Container for Dogs was super high traffic but with no conversions or any activity to other categories Would you redirect "food container for dogs" to a different site and delete that tab from the original site completely? It's still related but does not offer any $ value or leads to any of the other categories. Just note that we have a different interest in this category that will support the other categories at one time, but not any time soon. We also have a major group on LinkedIN that's grown to thousands of members for the "food container for dogs" category. On top of it all, the "food container for dogs" has been increasing in rank on Google for several keyphrases to positions 2-5 (nationally) Other important question: Would keeping "food container for dogs" influence the ranking of the other keywords? (by dilution of the site's PR or any other reason?)

Reviews not shown on google search & seller rating extensions (adwords)
Hello, we have 2 questions, regarding reviews from rating websites. 1. Reviews on google Search We have several reviews for our website www.theprintspace.co.uk from various rating sites (e.g. qype, yelp, remotegoat, etc.). When searching for theprintspace on google, only some reviews and only some rating website are shown, most are not. For qype, for instance, we have 8 reviews, but google only indicates that we have 3. The yelp reviews (and many others) are not shown at all. According to google, it takes a maximum of 2 months for the correct number of reviews to be shown on google, but the reviews have been online for over 2 months now. Is there any way this problem can be solved, so google shows the correct number of reviews? 2. Seller rating extensions on google adwords We would like the reviews to be displayed in our google adwords as a seller rating extension. These will include the merchant star rating for advertisers that are highly rated on Google Product Search. We are setting up a google merchant account to do so. Google says: "Ratings are based on the user reviews collected by Google Product Search, which aggregates reviews from a broad base of sources across the web, including Reseller Ratings, Bizrate, ReviewCentre.com and Viewpoints." Do you know if the following rating website are in google's "base of sources" and will thus be recognised and used in google adwords as rating extensions? Yelp Qype Scoot Remotegoat viewlondon tipped Or does google only source from big e-commerce rating websites? How do we get the ratings into our adwords? Thank you for your help!

Landing Page Conversion
Hi, I'm having a few issues with my landing page conversion. I have followed several guides found on this site (especially the unbounce.com ones) but what'ever I try my landing page CRO doesn't seem to increase. the landing page in question is http://www.drivingtestnow.co.uk/find-driving-test-cancellations. I'm getting traffic to my landing page solely through PPC traffic from Google. My stats are rough as follows: Arrive at landing page - 100% (obviously)

Click through to buy now page - 15-20%
Actually complete the buy now process - 1% Conversion from organic traffic landing directly on the homepage at http://www.drivingtestnow.co.uk is having a conversion rate of about 5%. It seems odd to me that my highly targeted ad campaign and landing page are convertign so badly compared to the less atrgeted organic search traffic and homepage. Have you got any ideas why this might be occurring and also any tips on how I can improve the conversion rate for my product? Gary...0
