Rel=author
-
Hi everyone, i'm trying to understand the rel=author thing for cotent, i need some clarification please.
Firstly do you only use it for content on your site or can you have it for a guest post you have done on another domain which is not your own - linking to your author profile on your domain?
Secondly implementing it, i understand it's 3 links:
1., Link on your content where the blog post is with a rel=author going to your domain authort page.
2., a link from your domain author page going to your google + profile. This is rel=me
3 a link on your google+ profile to your blog? if so how do i do this? i only have an option to edit about page and add recommended links? there is no 'contributor' section. I am UK profile also.
Any help really appreciated, thanks guys.

I am pretty confused now.
I have a holiday website e-commerce, i write content on travel blogs, do i need to do rel=author if so what is easist way and how please?

It seems your are trying to connect a Brand Page as an Author - Which is not accepted yet
(I am assuming this, due to Brand Pages only have the link sections you have described)
Make sure your are using personal profile for author - then your brand page would use publisher

Ah i'm stil confused hehe. Well when i edit my Google+ profile i have no 'contributor to' section, just a 'recommended links' on my about page. Any ideas?

Hi Paul,
Will do this in reverse order to make life a bit easier - and I suspect there will be other posts suggesting other ways to do this too - google has made several changes about how to do this - none of which are very clear!
Point 3. To link your google+ profile (personal profile - not company page!) go to your profile page, hit edit, scroll down to "contributor to" and add your homepage url(s) there and save. If you write for several different sites, you can add those too. It's basically googles method of verifying the author against the publisher and vice versa.
Point 2. This as far as I am aware is only needed if you have an author page with multiple authors on it - but yes, that would be the implementation method.
Point 1. Not quite sure I understand what you mean there - so here is a few things about that.
You can add your author name in each post, and rel=author that back directly to your g+ profile
If you have multiple authors and want to link it to your author page on site - you could do that, but I am not sure that google will still pick each article up and accredit you as the author - my suggestion (unless anyone else can clarify the correct way) would be to do as above.
There is another point if you have a g+ company page - Go to https://developers.google.com/+/plugins/badge/#connect to add a rel=publisher tag to the head of your homepage only and that will qualify your for direct connect.
Hope that helps!

Link rel="prev" AND canonical
Hi guys, When you have several tabs on your website with products, you can most likely navigate to page 2, 3, 4 etc...
Technical SEO | | AdenaSEO
You can add the link rel="prev" and link rel="next" tags to make sure that 1 page get's indexed / ranked by Google. am I correct? However this still means that all the pages can get indexed, right? For example a webshop makes use of the link rel="prev" and ="next" tags. In the Google results page though, all the seperate tabs pages are still visible/indexed..
http://www.domain.nl/watches/?tab=1
http://www.domain.nl/watches/?tab=24
http://www.domain.nl/watches/?tab=19
etc..... Can we prevent this, and make sure only the main page get's indexed and ranked, by adding a canonical link on every 'tab page' to the main page --> www.domain.nl/watches/ I hope I explained it well and I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Regards, Tom1 -
New site: More pages for usability, or fewer more detailed pages for greater domain authority flow?
Ladies and gents! We're building a new site. We have a list of 28 professions, and we're wondering whether or not to include them all on one long and detailed page, or to keep them on their own separate pages. Thinking about the flow of domain authority - I could see 28 pages diluting it quite heavily - but at the same time, I think having the separate pages would be better for the user. What do you think?

301 redirect with Magento; still Page authority 0 after 6 weeks
Hi Mozzers! In December '14 I have execute a 301 redirect in the 'old' page in the admin of my Magento store. Now I was surprised to see that the Page Authority is still 0 of the new page 6 weeks after the execution. should I have seen the update of the PA on the new page already after 6 weeks of time? If yes, then I assume that my Magento didn't execute this properly? Old url: http://hippemamashop.nl/mama/boeken/fotoalbum.html

Using Rel Nofollow on Duplicate Pages
Hi there, I have a rather large site that has duplicate content on many pages due to how it's being spidered by google. I was hoping I could set the internal link to this page as "nofollow." My question is that I have hundreds of other sites with backlinks to these duplicate content pages.. will this affect me negatively if I tell google not to index the duplicated pages?

Rel=nofollow for affiliate links?
Hi, For a holiday/travel website including hotels and holiday packages from affiliates I am currently using the rel="nofollow" attribute to link out to the affiliate's website and wanted to know if this is the right way? To be more precise: there are distinct pages for each city and on a city specific page there are ~50 available hotels listed with some other information such as price and address, etc. Each of these hotels have an outlink to the affiliate's hotel website which uses private branding and as such is running on a subdomain hotels.mytraveldomain.tld. So in order not to pass on the link juice to the affiliate's website I thought I would simply use rel="nofollow". Would you also use nofollow? or are there any other opinions out there about that?

Rel=cannonical vs. noindex.follow for paginated pages
I"m working on a real estate site that has multiple listing pages, e.g. http://www.hhcrealestate.com/manhattan-beach-mls-real-estate-listings I'm trying to get the main result page to rank for that particular geo-keyword, i.e. "manhattan beach homes for sale". I want to make sure all of the individual listings on the paginated pages, 2,3, 4 etc. still get indexed. Is it better to add to all of the paginated pages, i.e.manhattan-beach-mls-real-estate-listings-2, manhattan-beach-mls-real-estate-listings--3, manhattan-beach-mls-real-estate-listings-4, etc. or is it better to add noindex, follow to those pages?

Why the rapid drop in Domain Authority?
I couple weeks ago I switched my website from Drupal to a Wordpress CMS: Martial Arts Austin My rankings have remained the same, but the Domain Authority has plummeted from like 29 to 21. I know this is small fry, but I don't want my business to drop in ranking. The URL's were kept exactly the same, with the internal links and copy also kept the same with few additions. Also, according to Open Site Explorer, the site's stronger pages have now averaged out with the weaker and unused pages so they all now share the same Page Authority - that doesn't seem right. Is there reason for concern? Did I screw something up, or am I making too much of this? Thanks
