Rel=author, google plus, picture in Article page SERP
-
Hello,
Could someone explain the easiest way to use Google Plus and rel="author" to claim our articles written by us and get our picture beside them in the Google SERPS
site: nlpca(dot)com

Here's a great SEOMoz post on the subject:
http://www.seomoz.org/blog/authorship-google-plus-link-building
And if you're using a Wordpress CMS: http://www.devonwebdesigners.com/3278/relauthor-step-by-step-for-wordpress/
Best of luck, I'm in the process of implementing this myself. And as others have noted, you can test if it's working through GWT.

I have tried to implement this on my Grass Roots SEO site which seems to be working just by using the following code:
<a <span="">rel</a><a <span="">="author" href="</a>https://plus.google.com/107417726658928760708">+Martin Evans
My Google+ profile also shows my site as a site I contribute to.
More info can be found at http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/google-publisher-code-with-badge-and-1-button?replies=1#post-790448 if you plan to do this on a wordpress site.

here's a great walk through. I just did it on our site and it worked well.
http://www.virante.com/blog/2012/01/08/how-to-show-your-author-photo-in-google-search-results/
just make sure to use Google's rich snippet tool to check your work before submitting it to Google's Microdata Submission
Also, here's google's official walk through http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1408986

Rel canonical tag from shopify page to wordpress site page
We have pages on our shopify site example - https://shop.example.com/collections/cast-aluminum-plaques/products/cast-aluminum-address-plaque That we want to put a rel canonical tag on to direct to our wordpress site page - https://www.example.com/aluminum-plaques/ We have links form the wordpress page to the shop page, and over time ahve found that google has ranked the shop pages over the wp pages, which we do not want. So we want to put rel canonical tags on the shop pages to say the wp page is the authority. I hope that makes sense, and I would appreciate your feeback and best solution. Thanks! Is that possible?

Can I tell Google to Ignore Parts of a Page?
Hi all, I was wondering if there was some sort of html trick that I could use to selectively tell a search engine to ignore texts on certain parts of a page. Thanks!

Using author on every page of website?
I'm currently get to grips with schema and one thing im using is author on my blog posts and seeing my photo etc on organic searches which are related. I see one of my competitors is using author on every page on their website, not just blog posts etc. Are there any recommendation when it should be used? Should it be site wide or is it really intended for blog posts etc? Would it be wrong for me to use on every page of my website as one of my businesses is myself as a lone person? This is what you get when searching for driving lessons in just about any town! https://www.google.co.uk/#gs_rn=15&gs_ri=psy-ab&tok=LS_DOrAHswmHC9_8AJZEJA&suggest=p&pq=driving instructor brighton&cp=20&gs_id=1k2&xhr=t&q=driving+lessons+crawley&es_nrs=true&pf=p&sclient=psy-ab&oq=driving+lessons+craw&gs_l=&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_cp.r_qf.&bvm=bv.47244034,d.d2k&fp=45c2f917e11bca99&biw=1680&bih=843 Any comments welcome! Was moving up in SERPS then Got Stuck on Page 2
Hi, I was continuously acquiring quality back-links and my site was moving up in Google SERPS for 3 main keywords. Within a few weeks i was on Page 2 and 3 for these three keywords, but after reaching there I got stuck on these pages and positions despite no change in link building strategy / pattern. I have even increased the number and quality of links that I acquire per day, but I am still stuck at exact same positions. The website is10 months old and related to a software niche. I update this website once a week. For one keyword I am stuck at position 1 of page two (you can well imagine the frustration..!!). My question is that what do I need to do to get out of this "SERP lock"?

Internal Pages outranking homepage in SERPs
First of all I would like to stress that this relates to a new site which is just a few weeks old, however it is something that has regularly happened to a lot of our websites in the past, so I am wondering if there is some underlying problem. We have recently setup the domain www.calcioitaliashop.com. The domain name itself "calcio italia shop" is actually one of the main keywords we are targeting. However, when we enter this into google (we are using .co.uk version), a lot of the category pages appear, yet the root domain does not. Does this indicate some coding problem with the website? I thought we might have some robots problem, but running a site://www.calcioitaliashop.com command shows that the homepage is in the index, so I am just wondering what could be causing these results?
