Campaign Churning for Two Days
-
I started a campaign 5/11/2012. It's still churning. Here's what the Crawl Diagnostics Summary has said for the two days.
- Starter Crawl in Progress!
- Processing Crawl Data
- Started: May 11th, 2012
- To get you started quickly Roger is crawling up to 250 pages on your site. You should see these results within two hours. The full crawl will complete within 7 days.
Should I / can I stop this campaign? How?
-
Hey Larry!
Sometimes larger sites will spin for a while. Sorry about the delay on the starter crawl. I just checked your campaigns out and it looks like you have full crawls for each of them.
Not sure what happened there.

Here's your answer on yesterday's blog post.
-
You have got to wait. It took me some time to receive the report (It was worth the wait) and the maximum time is 7 days.

Moz campaign works around my robots.txt settings
My robots.txt file looks like this: User-agent: * Disallow: /*? Disallow: /search So, it should block (deindex) all dynamic URLs. If I check this url in Google: site:http://www.webdesign.org/search/page-1.html?author=47 Google tells me: A description for this result is not available because of this site's robots.txt – learn more. So far so good. Now, I ran a Moz SEO campaign and I got a bunch of duplicate page content errors. One of the links is this one: http://www.webdesign.org/search/page-1.html?author=47 (the same I tested in Google and it told me that the page is blocked by robots.txt which I want) So, it makes me think that Moz campaigns check files regardless of what robots.txt say? It’s my understanding User-agent: * should forbid Rogerbot from crawling as well. Am I missing something?

Campaign 4XX error gives duplicate page URL
I ran the report for my site and had many more 4xx errors than I've had in the past month. I updated my .htaccess to include 301 statements based on Google Webmaster Tools Crawl Errors. Google has been reporting a positive downward trend in my errors, but my SEOmoz campaign has shown a dramatic increase in the 4xx pages. Here is an example of an 4xx URL page: http://www.maximphotostudio.net/engagements/266/inniswood_park_engagements/http:%2F%2Fwww.maximphotostudio.net%2Fengagements%2F266%2Finniswood_park_engagements%2F This is strange because URL: http://www.maximphotostudio.net/engagements/266/inniswood_park_engagements/ is valid and works great, but then there is a duplicate entry with %2F representing forward slashes and 2 http statements in each link. What is the reason for this?
