I currently have a client that has multiple domains for multiple brands that share the same IP Address. Will link juice be passed along to the different sites when they link to one another or will it simply be considered internal linking?

I have 7 brands that are owned by the same company, each with their own domain. The brands work together to form products that are then sold to the consumer although there is not a e-commerce aspect to any of the sites.
I am looking to create a modified link wheel between the sites, but didn't know if my efforts would pay off due to the same IP Address for all the sites.
Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

I think if there are in context references to the other brands and you're not linking all the time, then probably still apply no-follow. Basically, apply a simple principle - if you think you may be, or someone else could perceive that you're being manipulative, don't do it. Same with any ethical situation in life.

If you are very worried, I would say just make them nofollow. The benefit you would get from them might not be worth the worry.
But, since you control the sites yourself, I don't see any reason why you can't experiment. Put a few of the links to your other site, in context, and make them do follow. Wait a few weeks and see what happens. Did your other site benefit. In that case, I would keep them. If your other site goes down, or sees no benefit, then I would then make them no follow. These links should have little risk of getting you banned from google - unless you have thousands of these - and it has a small chance of doing some good.
Again, I will put the caveat to say that this is what I would do. I have been doing seo for about 4 years as part of my businesses, but I am not a full time SEO don't claim to be an expert.

What about the fact that each of the sites post content that references the other brands' websites? Do you feel that I should avoid linking to the sites in the content being generates? Maybe use no follows so the reader can get to the site, but not have the spiders follow...

I agree that you should not do anything as obvious as a link wheel, especially with the recent google updates and penalties.
That being said, I have a number of sites in same server that link to each other. This was not done with the intention of creating a link wheel. I simply went the microsite route instead of a main large site. I did, and still do seem to be getting benefit from them linking to each other. Of course, each site has its own links from different places linking to it, so the inter-linking between my sites is a very very small portion of my total inbound links.
I am however working on merging the sites right now since I am worried google may frown upon this kind of thing in the future. But for now - and the past - it seemed to have helped.
Just my 2 pesos opinion/experience. I hope this helps.

For a start you shouldn't be doing any 'link wheels' as you risk damaging all 7 sites. If the brands are within the same company and are related you could probably 'cross-sell' but that can just look spammy from a customer's perspective.
You'd be better focussing on each brand individually and building up its authority and getting quality links than linking 7 sites on the same IP/C-Block.
Just. Don't. Do. The. Wheel.

New site. How important is traffic for a new site? And what about domain age?
Hi guys. I've been building a new site because i've seen a real SEO opportunity out there. I'm a mixing professional by trade and so I wanted to take advantage of SEO to help gain more work. Here's the site: www.signalchainstudios.co.uk I'm curious about domain age. This site fairly well optimised for my keywords, and my site got pretty good content on it (i think so anyway). But it's no where to be seen on the SERP's (link at all). Is this just a domain age issue? I'd have though it might be in the top 50 because my site's services are not hard to rank for at all! Also what about traffic? Does Google want to see an 'active' site before it considers 'promoting' it up the ranks? Or are back links and good content the main factor in the equation? SEO question regarding rails app on www.site.com hosted on Heroku and www.site.com/blog at another host
Hi, I have a rails app hosted on Heroku (www.site.com) and would much prefer to set up a Wordpress blog using a different host pointing to www.site.com/blog, as opposed to using a gem within the actual app. Whats are peoples thoughts regarding there being any ranking implications for implementing the set up as noted in this post on Stackoverflow: "What I would do is serve your Wordpress blog along side your Rails app (so you've got a PHP and a Rails server running), and just have your /blog route point to a controller that redirects to your Wordpress app. Add something like this to your routes.rb: _`get '/blog', to:'blog#redirect'`_ and then have a redirect method in your BlogController that simply does this: _`classBlogController<applicationcontrollerdef redirect="" redirect_to="" "url_of_wordpress_blog"endend<="" code=""></applicationcontrollerdef>`_ _Now you can point at yourdomain.com/blog and it will take you to the Wordpress site._

Hi, I have opportunity to get a link from a brands website to our website as we are official retailers. Should I give them our homepage URL or should I give them their brands page on our website? Redirect one store to another...
Here's the situation: 2 online stores. Store A is doing really well, traffic, sales, and keyword ranking wise. Store B, not so much. Owner wants to redirect all links from store B to store A and then possibly re-brand store A and give it a different URL. This is a slow time, sales pick up in spring. Redirecting 2 aged site to brand spanking new one
Does 301 redircting 2 aged domain to a new one have a compounding effect? Ive redirected domain #1 to teh new site and my new domain has now jumped to position 6 on Google for the keyword. I have noticed that the sites above me are all aged domains and some with very few backlinks. Number 1 is 4 years old and 20 backlinks, thats it! I am wondering, if I redirected a 11 year old domain that is in the same niche, but never really targeteed that same keyword, would that bump my site even higher? Obviously i am building quality backlinks to the new domain and making sure these are hard to get high quality backlinks. Thanks for your help guys

Redirect between domains: any real number on how much link juice is lost?
Hi, I'm thinking of rebranding my website and moving it to a new domain. Of course I would implement 301 redirects page to page from old-domain.com to new-domain.com. I wonder if you have any real figure based on your experiments on how much link juice I could lose in the process and if it will take time for Google to re-crawl correctly the new page. I could get some of the backlinks changed as well, so they would point to the new domain. Cutts says it would get changed at least the more important, but how many? which are the more important? Also, what about if I move just a part of the website that has no backlinks? Supposedly it won't have any link juice to pass through but of course all the pages will be hosted on a brand new domain that won't pass domain-power to those internal pages, so will I lose rankings for these pages?
