How important are different class c subnets and ip's
-
We're thinking of launching several blogs in our niche and 'building them up' organically, and then linking naturally from them to our sites (very conservatively). I was wondering if we should buy entirely separate hosting for these blogs and how important are separate ip addresses and class c subnets (shown on majestic SEO tools for instance). Is it possible to create a set of authoritative blogs in a niche and have them be a little 'neighborhood' within the same shared hosting provider (obv similiar class c or even same ip).

Sounds like you're trying to outsmart Google.
Here's my advice: If you have a legitimate reason for creating independent blogs, then by all means do so, but do it out in the open where everyone, including Google can see it, because Google will see it anyway. They have tools of detecting "administratively related" sites that we can't even comprehend. It goes way beyond ip addresses, class c subnets, Google analytics profiles or whois registration data. if you have a relationship with a group of sites, chances are they will figure it out algorithmically.
As an example, the Theme Forrest folks do a great job of this with their collection of websites (try the drop-down navigation in the header to see the relationships) But aside from navigation, there is not a lot of inter-linking between these sites to my knowledge.
It's actually pretty common to run a number of sites under the same company. Danny Sullivan runs Search Engine Land and Marketing Land, and has a number of other sites. These all link to each other naturally.
But be careful. If you're doing this solely for SEO benefits, the temptation to optimize your links and overdo it may be too great, and you may end up in a place you didn't intend. If, on the other hand, the different sites can all stand alone on their own merit, this may be a great idea.
Best of luck!

I disagree with Alan Elbert, I ran 5 sites within the same niche (forex) which is silly competitive and we ran allow them on separate c class ISP to help cloak all of our linking and versatility on the web, not to mention soliciting each site as a stand alone company giving you higher revenue capabilities on affiliate partnerships etc

Very hard, You would need to register the domains with different details for example. the pattern of link networks is very hard to hide.
Having different c-class is not so importatnt, unless a high number of your links come from the same c-class. a c-class has 255 ip addresses, but each ip number can host a infinite number of websites, some small towns may have most of their web sites hosted on athe same ip number let alone c-class, so it is not un-common to have such links.
I would suggest you use the content for all these blogs on your own site, and try to attactt links. Haver a link network is dangerouse

I earned some high-quality backlinks, but the target page's ranking is not improving. Why?
Within the last three months, I acquired five .EDU backlinks and two editorial links to a page ranking for a competitive keyword. After the first few links came through, the page jumped from #15 to #7. It stayed there with minor fluctuations for a couple weeks. I earned a couple more good links, and the page fell as far as #44. It has recovered a bit then, but has not returned to the first page. It is worth noting that the .EDU links were achieved by sponsoring university programs. Could Google possibly be recognizing this as a link scheme? Are the links being earned too quickly? I don't believe it could be either, as the links reside on high quality, trustworthy sites and there wasn't a sudden major influx of them. Thank you for your insight! Also, I think my username tricked Moz into thinking I'm a staffer. Not the case!

Internal Links: How Important and How to Boost
A couple of my competitors have WAY more internal links than I do, and are outranking me. Could that be an important factor? (Let's assume all other things equal, i.e. don't bother explaining that it's complicated and many factors are involved, please.) If boosting the number is important, what's the best way to do it (site is heliski.com) thx, tj

I am getting links on people's wordpress blogs but are not showing up on the just discovered tool. Is it true that wordpress links are no-follow links that do give off any link-juice?
A blogger told me that "wordpress.com does not allow blogs to show advertisements or use links to sites that sell merchandise of any kind" is this true? Am i wasting my outreach time trying to get links from wordpress operated blogs?

Multiple Links from High Ranking Site Vs. Links from Multiple Domains - What's More Important?
I understand it is important to get links from many quality domains. Currently, I do have links from top domains (PR, Trust) and it I can get more from (high rank) pages on these same domains. Would it be better to focus on expanding my reach (find additional domains to link from) or to continue to build links from the current domains I have a connection with? What is weighted more? I realize doing both is important, but trying to figure out how to best use my time. Thanks! David

Mutliple language website with same keyword for different language
Hi you all, how are you? I'm having a problem with a new client. His website is multilanguage, and he wanted to position his website in Google US, Google Brazil and Google Argentina. The problem is the following: the client is an hotel chain, and for every hotel they own they have an internal website. Because each internal website is well optimized for the keyword that include the city the hotel is in, now the page is decently positioned with the internal pages, not the home. This is fine by me, but here is the problem. Each language (es, en and pt) ranks better in each country. How would you exchange links? Because I have, for each keyword, three websites, each one in a different languages. Coul you give me an idea with this? Someone has experienced the same thing? Thanks!

C-blocks and linking
I'm just starting to learn about cblock root domains and linking. I'm wondering about the following: Are there articles or websites to learn about dos and don'ts about getting a large number of links from one cblock? How do I know when a site has too many links versus the number of unique cblocks? I've been using Link Harvester on SEO Book and it seems like not many sites have more than 170 unique cblocks. Is this the total number of unique cblocks on the web or am I using the tool wrong?
