Will changing my host affect my rankings
-
Were moving our site from a UK server to an Australian server to benefit from hosting our site in our home country.
The domain name is the same, the template and files are all the same so will we lose rankings at all when the website is moved?
I plan on leaving the old website up there until the new website is cached.
What considerations should we think of before we migrate?
Cheers

Let me be the odd one out, you may loose your ranking on google.co.uk and gain positive effect on google.com.au {Keeping in mind everything remains constant except the hosting and ip address}
-
Nope, no redirects. I just kept all the file structures the same. I did keep my current 301s though.
-
If you targeting Australia then it will be useful for you otherwise no bad effect
-
If all the URL's for your pages remain the same, there is no requirement for 301 redirects at all no.
-
Great news. Did you have to do any 301 redirects? I'm presuming as long as I keep the file structures the same this is not necessary.
-
I just changed host last week and there was NO loss of rankings.

Wants to Rank Well in Multiple Countries
We have been using moz subscription from last few months & are quite happy so far. We just wanted to explore more out of it & wanted to understand how to approach the optimization for having us rank well in US. At the same time we don't wanted to lose upon what we have achieved till now. I have read through some blog posts & found that changing the international targeting in GWT can also hurt. My vision is to rank well in multiple countries but at the same time do not lose rankings in India. Any help here would be appreciated so whatever we do, we do it right.

Is it OK to change language by user IP?
Hello, I just read https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/182192?hl=en#1 about multilingual website. Google says "Avoid automatic redirection based on the user’s perceived language". so Is it ok to redirect url by user IP instead of user language?

Site Ranking in all countries except USA
Hello, I have a site www.apdermatology.com in is ranking #1 for
International SEO | | element8design
"Dermatologist Chelsea Mi" "Dermatologist Chelsea Michigan" In Google in Canada, UK, Australia, Etc.. But in the USA it is on the 4th+ Page, it has been this way for weeks if not months. And does not seem to come up. I originally thought maybe that google was penalizing the site although, it comes up in all other counties. Does anyone have any recommendations how to resolve this, or what the problem may be? Thanks.0 -
Changing server location for a global targetted site
Hi, I am just in the process of purchasing a site from someone. The site has a global target audience (well global English speaking anyway). The site is on a .info domain and is currently hosted in Germany. Checking on SemRush it looks like 70% of traffic comes from English speaking countries (US, Australia, Canada, UK). Now I need to move the hosting to one of my own when I change ownership of the site. Now does it overly matter where I choose my hosting as currently it is hosted in Germany (around 4% of visitors from Germany) but I want to do my best not to knock any rankings but I was thinking of moving it to a UK or US based host but still want to keep a general worldwide userbase. As the US accounts for the largest part of traffic (39%) would I be best choosing hosting based over in the US or does it not overly matter too much (I am in the UK so most hosting I use is UK based). I have read a number of posts on server location but most seem to be for site which have a country specific target audience. Thanks for your help! 🙂

Is there a correlation between ranking and different TLD
I've been thinking about buying some domains recently with some different extensions. In particular domains with country specific TLD's such as .in and .be etc.. But my question is has anyone had experience ranking domains like these in the UK market. Is there a correlation between ranking and a country specific domain to rank in the UK market? I know I can target these domains at the UK market in GWMT, but is there a negative factor in trying to rank say a .in the UK?

Hosting Speed Performance
Our site is currently hosted in Germany (1&1) and it primarily attracts users from the USA. We are however keen to improve our search engine rankings on UK search engines and are considering moving to UK servers. I have ‘heard’ that a site doesn’t perform as well for people visiting from the USA to UK servers as for example the German network where we are now. Can anybody offer advice on whether this will affect the response time of webpages to USA visitors? If it will have an affect, will this have a significant impact on SEO? Thanks,

Will duplicate content across international domains have a negative affect on our SERP
Our corporate website www.tryten.com showcases/sells our products to all of our customers. We have Canadian and UK based customers and would like to duplicate our website onto .ca and .co.uk domains respectively to better service them. These sites will showcase the same products, only the price and ship from locations will change. Also, the phone numbers and contact info will be altered. The sites will all be on one server. On each of the sites there will be a country selector which will take you to the appropriate domain for the country selected. Will doing this negatively affect our rankings in the US, UK and Canada?
