Differences in Sitemaps SEO wise?

I'm a bit confused about sitemaps. I'm just learning SEO so forgive me if this is a basic question.

I've submitted my site to google webmaster using http://pro-sitemaps.com and the sitemap generator it creates.

I've also seen sites do this: http://www.johnlewis.com/Shopping/ProductList.aspx and http://www.thesafestcandles.com/site-map.html so I did something similar for my site (www.ldnwicklesscandles.com). You figure you see everyone do it you might as well try it too and hope it works.
So I've done both 1 and 2.
Which sitemap is best for SEO purposes or should I do both? Is there any format that should or shouldn't be used for Option 2? Any site examples for good practice would be helpful.

The sitemaps you submit to google webmaster tools are used by google to help index your site and to make sure content that gets indexed. If you've got a large site with a complex architecture it can be difficult to ensure that google finds and indexes your content.

Sitemap pages on your own website are there to help visitors to your site find the pages they're looking for. Sitemap pages have lots of links to deep content on your site so will also help search engine spiders find content on your site.
If you've got a small site, a simple architecture and good navigation you'll probably find that your website sitemap page doesn't get much use. For a large site it can help provide visitors with a good overview of the content on your site.
It's worth keeping an eye on visitors to your sitemap and the local site search to see what pages they're looking for. It can indicate that it would be worth giving those pages a higher profile in your site navigation.
Think about how you can present your sitemap to help visitors understand the structure of your website and in a manner consistent with your main navigation.
You may also want to have a "Can't find what you're looking for? Get in Touch..." type call to action/form on this page especially if you offer custom/bespoke products.

Videos for SEO & Profits
Hello, I'm in the middle of developing a website that will be a tutorial site for SEO, http://universityofseo.com. My plan is to do video tutorials & blog posts to help entry-level SEOs and SMB Owners to help them become familiarized with SEO through quick and easy to watch videos. I eventually want to turn this into a revenue stream through advertisements. I want to know for both SEO and profit reasons, if I should host the videos on youtube and then embed them on my site, or do something like Bits on the Run / Whistia and put ads in the videos that way? I'm not overly obsessed with monetizing the site, but it would be nice to do it, but first and foremost i'm concerned with optimizing the site, having great and actionable content, then monetizing it. I'd appreciate any help on this matter, Zach

Does anyone know a sitemap generation tool that updates your sitemap based on changes on your website?
We have a massive site with thousands of pages which we update everyday. Is there a sitemap generator that can create google sitemaps on the fly and change only based on changes in the site? Our site is much too large to create new sitemaps on regular basis. Is there a tool that will run on server that does this automatically?

.lbi file - SEO friendly or not?
Up until yesterday afternoon i had never heard of a .lbi file. It turns out it is a library file used by Adobe Dreamweaver. From what i can tell it works like a client side included but i am unsure of the technology behind it. The issue:

When running through a recent SEO audit for a new client i found these .lbi files being used all over there site for site wide callouts and even navigation. When viewing this content through firebug or in the browser you can see the executed HTML content but when viewing the source or the page in seo-browser.com the content is nowhere to be seen. So my thought is this is not SEO friendly and is the same as displaying content in any client-side script like JavaScript or JQuery. Any feedback or thoughts on this subject would be awesome, especially if anyone has used these previously. Suggestions on how to hire help with my SEO?
Hi, I just signed up with SEOMOZ and found some major duplicate content issues with Wordpress. I have installed Yoast SEO plug in but honestly am a little lost on how Wordpress handles it all and need guidance. I would love to hire someone to do some desktop share / Skype sessions to teach me the proper way to set this up but did not see if there was any place on SEOMOZ where employers and providers can connect. How to generate a visual sitemap using sitemap.xml
