Publishing on sites with greater domain authority
-
Hello,
I had an idea, probably not original:
While my website is still gaining domain authority, I was thinking about publishing articles in a website with great domain authority that allows articles from third parties. This way the article's relevance + domain authority of the site would result in a better position on Google for the article I write and with proper links, I can attract people to my website. This would be a temporary strategy until my website's domain authority increases.
Any suggestions on how to do this? Where can I publish articles to attract people to my website (except blogs)?
Thanks a lot.

Hi Sophia,
I want to warn you to avoid just finding places that allow you to 'submit articles' even if they appear to have an established domain authority. A lot of these sites have been overrun with spam over the years and lost their ability to improve your site's authority. Not to mention they will send very little referral traffic.
Instead, you are going to want to focus on finding real websites where you can see visible signs of readership and interaction. Look for comments and social shares on current posts. Make a connection with the webmaster and eventually, pitch a guest blog post.
Here are some great resources on guest blogging:

I hope these links help you out. You are on the right path to helping your website. You just have to be careful though, because sometimes the right path is very close to the wrong path.
Note: I'm not sure why you ended your question with (except blogs). Is there a particular reason you don't want to be published on other blogs?

I would start by identifying relevant content publishers or potential partners in your vertical and contacting them to discuss how you could work in partnership, some people may be happy to have some free content and others you may have to barter with. You will probably have to invest a fair amount of time in establishing these relationships.
A word of warning, be wary of targeting keywords in these external articles that will be high priority keywords for your website. If the content is being published to a authoritative domain you may struggle to rank above these articles even when your domain authority increases.
I don't know if you have budget for PPC but this can be a great way to drive traffic to your site whilst your organic presence is in it's infancy.
Hope this helps.

Franchise-Like Duplicate Sites
I know that ideally businesses that operate as franchises should have 1 site with separate location pages. However, I have a slightly different issue. Each location is owned by a different parent company, and named accordingly. For example, there is "Location by XYZ Company" and "Location by ABC Company." In addition, each location, while carrying similar products, does not carry the same exact products and brands. So my question is how would you go about writing the content for each of these sites, keeping the same tone but avoiding duplicate content?

Author Rank - Using the brand as the author
Hi i'm building a new site and want to start building up author rank right from the start. If you are building author rank for a brand, do you think its fine to use the brand as the actual author of the content, instead of a actual person? Or using a stage name rather then a persons actual name, and have your writers write under that particular stage name? Would love to hear peoples opinions. Cheers, Mark

Moving a html site into Wordpress
I'm getting ready to move a site into Wordpress. The current or old site is built with static html pages. My question is, how should I handle Google with these old pages. Should I 301 redirect from each old page to the new? Or is there a better way to handle it?

Should I publish several blog posts at once or stagger?
I have several blog posts that I want to publish (40 or so). For freshness is it better to stagger their publication over several months or is it fine to publish them all at the same time. The comments are closed.
