GA and Ajax Forms
-
Hi Mozzers,
Gravity Forms for Wordpress provides an unsurpassed user experience. The form submits and the form response replaces it without having to reload or redirect to another page.
The problem is that without a redirect there's no way to track this event in Google Analytics.
I'm interested in hearing from anyone who tried to track and ajax event in Google Analytics.

...ask Gravity — why didn't I think of that? Good advice, thank you both.

You could tag an event when a user hits the submit button .... then set it as a goal but you should ask gravity forms im sure they have the best way to track Eli

Is Google Filling in Search Forms?
Hi Mozers, Is it true that Google will fill in search forms and thus generate potentially thousands of pages by itself? We have a spike in number of pages indexed and it corresponds with the time we added an advanced search form to the site... Thanks for the advice! Yael

May Faceted Navigation via ajax #parameter cause duplicated content issues?
We are going to implement a faceted navigation for an ecommerce site of about 1000 products.
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | lcourse
Faceted navigation is implemented via ajax/javascript which adds to the URL a large number of #parameters.
Faceted pages are canonicalizing to page without any parameters. We do not want google to index any of the faceted pages at this point. Will google include pages with #parameters in their index?
Can I tell google somehow to ignore #parameters and not to index them?
Could this setup cause any SEO problems for us in terms of crawl bandwidth and or link equity?0 -
Large number of links form Pinterest
Could unusually large number of links from Pinterest cause issues? Would Google categorise them as spammy links or site wide links? I have a small site with Urls around 800-1000. But webmaster shows 5321 links from Pinterest.com and 1467 from Pinterest.se. Please see attachment. ffNLF

How to switch from URL based navigation to Ajax, 1000's of URLs gone
Hi everyone, We have thousands of urls generated by numerous products filters on our ecommerce site, eg./category1/category11/brand/color-red/size-xl+xxl/price-cheap/in-stock/. We are thinking of moving these filters to ajax in order to offer a better user experience and get rid of these useless urls. In your opinion, what is the best way to deal with this huge move ? leave the existing URLs respond as before : as they will disappear from our sitemap (they won't be linked anymore), I imagine robots will someday consider them as obsolete ? redirect permanent (301) to the closest existing url mark them as gone (4xx) I'd vote for option 2. Bots will suddenly see thousands of 301, but this is reflecting what is really happening, right ? Do you think this could result in some penalty ? Thank you very much for your help. Jeremy

Pagination loading with using AJAX. Should I change this?
Hello, while I was checking this site; http://www.disfracessimon.com/disfraces-adultos-16.html I found that the pagination is working this way http://www.disfracessimon.com/disfraces-adultos-16.html#/page-2

http://www.disfracessimon.com/disfraces-adultos-16.html#/page-3 and content is being loaded using AJAX. So, google is not getting the paginated results. Is this a big issue or there is no problem?
Should I create a link for See All Products or there is not a big issue? Thank you!0 -
HEADS UP - Did Google Grant WMT and GA admin access to your past employees or contractors?
Check your users and permissions in WMT and GA. I noticed that two Gmail accounts from a while back were given admin access to our accounts! That means someone that used to work for you could go in and remove your site from Googles index. Check your accounts folks just a heads up 😉 Here is an article talking about this potentially dangerous issue. http://thenextweb.com/google/2012/11/28/serious-google-security-glitch-gives-webmaster-tools-possibly-analytics-access-to-revoked-accounts
