Site rebuild without HTML extension = broken links?
-
I have a client and his site is pure HTML. He made huge amount of link building with some hundreds of links point to example.com/target.HTML
Now we decided to use WordPress with the same site structure.
If we use the exact same URLs but without the HTML ending will it cause broken links?
Is there any best practice for this kind of change?
Many thanks for any idea!

Letting wordpress end all the url's with .html is indeed a possibility. Another possibility is using your .htaccess file to accept different options so that extension doesn't even matter. In that way is doesn't matter is there is .html or .php / .asp or whatever behind it.
Look at this article in the community for more about HTACCESS:

It's really great stuff.
Hope this helps

Hello,
You can setup your wordpress urls to end with .html as well so you can keep the url same.
If you use other sort of permalinks, then yes it will be considered as broken link. but you can put a 301 redirect using htaccess and can prevent loss of link juice and broken link issue :}
My suggestion would be to keep .html strucutre for urls even in wordpress. but u want to switch use a 301 redirect!
hoep that helps.

Should I worry that thousands of spam sites are linking to me?
I was browsing Google Webmaster Tools and discovered there are 117,301 links to my site— mostly from very low-quality, spammy websites. I definitely did not solicit these links. I'm worried they are from a competitor trying to get me penalized by Google. Should I be worried about this? spam-websites.png?1505218483

Site wide links from another domain - could these cause a problem?
Hi I manage the SEO in house for the site http://www.naturalworldsafaris.com/ A new add on to our services has been launched in the form of an online store allowing us to sell, for example, expedition clothing that is relevant to the trips we offer. The store is managed elsewhere and sits on a subdomain of the company who are providing this service for us. There are sitewide links throughout this site back to our homepage: http://naturalworld.newheadings.com/index.php I'm just a bit concerned about these links from an SEO perspective and was wondering if we should request these are set up as no follow. Would appreciate any thoughts on this. Thanks!

How can I block incoming links from a bad web site ?
Hello all, We got a new client recently who had a warning from Google Webmasters tools for manual soft penalty. I did a lot of search and I found out one particular site that sounds roughly 100k links to one page and has been potentialy a high risk site. I wish to block those links from coming in to my site but their webmaster is nowhere to be seen and I do not want to use the disavow tool. Is there a way I can use code to our htaccess file or any other method? Would appreciate anyone's immediate response. Kind Regards

Image Link
If I have an image that is well optimiswed for a keyword that the page it is on is ranking for but i put a no follow in the image link - is this going to lose the value of the image on that page. A strange question i know but this image i have on my homepage is optimised around a keyword, the image is also a link but when i changed the link in the image to no follow i seem to have dropped rankings for that keyword. Probably consicidence but i thought i would throw this question out there and get some views?
