Google changing the meta title for the homepage causing branding issues
-
A client of mine." Ross X Bute" current meta title is "Luxury designer clothing | Womens designer clothing" for the homepage.
If i search for luxury designer clothing it will show the full meta title for the homepage.
however if i search for the brand name.... "Ross & Bute" will show instead of the meta title.
Whats the problem?
Well my client a few month ago has decided to re brand the business to have a "X" to show instead of the "And".
The rest of the site is branded with an "X" rather than "And"
The URL www.rossandbute.com, so you can understand where google is getting this assumption from.
Is there anyway to change this so it reads the the meta title in the SERPs?
Thanks

Thanks Ankit,
The site has been re branded for a months now and has had "Ross X Bute" backlinks and anchor text for some time.
The "Ross & Bute" title however has only popped up the last couple of days.
Is it just a case of doing more of the above and sitting it out or is there more of a quick fix i could exploit?
Cheers

Since, the brand name was Ross & Bute earlier, it might actually take some time before Google can pick the change in brand name especially if the site had a lot of authority and links coming from authority sites with "And". Having said that you can try some of the following to speed up the process:
1. Press Release in Big PR sites talking about the change in name
2. Contacting and getting the anchor changed for already created brand links
3. Getting Yahoo, Business and other directory links updated
4. and wait for Google to pick up the changes

Importance - meta title keyword
HI I want to find out how important people think it is to have the keyword as the first word in the meta title? Is this something that would even make a difference?

Potential Pagination Issue/ Duplicate content issue
Hi All, We upgraded our framework , relaunched our site with new url structures etc and re did our site map to Google last week. However, it's now come to light that the rel=next, rel=Prev tags we had in place on many of our pages are missing. We are putting them back in now but my worry is , as they were previously missing when we submitted the , will I have duplicate content issues or will it resolve itself , as Google re-crawls the site over time ?.. Any advice would be greatly appreciated? thanks Pete

Duplicate Content Issues :(
I am wondering how we can solve our duplicate content issues. Here is the thing: There are so many ways you can write a description about a used watch. http://beckertime.com/product/mens-rolex-air-king-no-date-stainless-steel-watch-wsilver-dial-5500/ http://beckertime.com/product/mens-rolex-air-king-stainless-steel-date-watch-wblue-dial-5500/ Whats different between these two? The dial color. We have a lot of the same model numbers but with different conditions, dial colors, and bands.. What ideas do you have?

Should you include domain / brand in Meta Title
Hello, I am trying to come up with a strategy for creating meta title information for my eCommerce store. I have read mixed reviews on the examples below. The first includes the company / brand in the meta title and thus is included in SE results. The second does not. Probably not a 'right' answer here so I look forward to answers with rationale... also open to a completely difference strategy all together! 1MR Vortex by BPI Sports - $Company_Name OR 1MR Vortex by BPI Sports - Pre Workout Supplement Thanks!

Google + under Google business domain email account
Hello there, I have a quick and straight question and I am hoping to find answer here. What do we do with a G+ profile that was set up through a business domain's email account that is used by more than one person? We want to use the company name, but we can't as it is considered personal email account although it is under business domain verified by Google. Is there a way that we ask Google to change it and allow us to use the name of the company or should we just deactivate it? Thanks in advance!

Do different meta titles & descriptions delete the canonical origin?
Hi, hopefully anyone knows something about this case: There is a canonical tag on site "www.xyz.com**/de_de/" **refering to site "www.xyz.com/de-de/". If the meta title and descriptions are different on both sides - is there a problem that google will not pay attention to the canonical tag? Do both sides need the same title and canonical? Thanx for your answers! Cheers Heiko!
