Is there an easy way to create this type of post, wordpress?
-
I run a site that is in Google news and built on wordpress.
I have seen this type of post on a few sites
http://searchengineland.com/searchcap-the-day-in-search-december-21-2012-143315
Its basically a summary of posts for that day or week etc
I am wondering, does anyone know of an easy way to create these types of pages? At the moment we simply copy and paste and create all links manually.
Im wondering, is there a plugin that allows you to create a post like this but quicker?
Any ideas at all would be great
Thanks in advance

There are some plugins which do create these kind of posts automatically based on keywords. But for what I know and feel it's much better nowadays to spend 20 minutes and do it manually, plus adding comments and tips, in short, provide curation to the post.
For automated plugins in Wordpress you can simply enter "automated google news plugin" or else I would say. Look also for "goolge news" within the plugin search inside WorpdressYou can also create content from a RSS feed in a widget or in the footer of your Wordpress theme and so get updated news around that topic. Just copy any available RSS feed link about a subject (found on relevant websites and pages), use a RSS feed plugin if the WP theme you use does not have it, and paste that link.

will check it out and let you know
Thanks for your help

Here is something that I found useful
Go check the screenshot when you enter the link. It seems really helpful for that kind of situations.

Please keep me posted if that did not solve your problem and I will try to find something else.

Duplicate content created by website Calendar - A Penalty?
A colleague of mine asked me a question about duplicate content coming from their event calendar. I don't think this will affect them negatively, but I would love some feedback and thoughts. ThanksOne of my clients, LifeTech Academy, is using my RavenTools software. Raventools has reported a HUGE amount of duplicate content (4.4K instances). The duplicate content all revolves around their calendar and repeating events (http://lifetechacademy.org/events/)The question is this - will this impact their SEO efforts in a negative way?

Links / Metadata around Recent Posts etc in Wordpress / Blog - Good SEO Practice?
Hello In a Wordpress blog ( or part of an ecommerce site that runs under wordpress ) it is good to show recent posts in the sidebar on most pages. Obviously the posts aren't going to be relevant to every post , so my questions are: Is having these on the page hurting SEO for the page? Is there good metadata structure to put in there? ( like rel="nofollow" or similar ) Thoughts?

Best Way to Consolidate Domains?
Hello, My company has four websites in the same vertical and we're planning to integrate them all on our main company site. So instead of www.siteone.com, www.sitetwo.com, www.sitethree.com, etc. It would be www.branddomain.com/site-one, www.branddomain.com/site-two, etc. I have a few questions... Should we redirect the old domains to the new directories or leave the old domains and stop updating them with new content... Then have the old content, links, etc. 301 to the same content on the new site? Should we literally move all of the content to the new directories? Any tips are appreciated. It's probably pretty obvious that I don't have a ton of technical skills... my development team will be doing the heavy lifting. I just want to be sure we do this correctly from an SEO perspective! Thanks for the help, please let me know if I can clarify anything. E

Does Google prefer Wordpress Blogs?
In creating a regular brochure website such as one for a dentist or doctor, do you see any SEO benefit to having it based in a Wordpress blog? I do see the SEO benefit of having an actual blog on the site and continually updating that, but simply using the Wordpress platform as a CMS - does that give the site any benefit? If there is a benefit, is there a way to duplicate that advantage without going through the trouble of creating a Wordpress template for the site? Maybe just publishing a sitemap.xml, and feed, etc? Thanks! Tom

Hey, I have a bit of a problem/issue what is freaking me out a bit. I hope you can help me. If i do site:www.somesitename.com search in Google i see that Google is indexing my attachment pages. I want to redirect attachment URL's to parent post and stop google from indexing them. I have used different redirect plugins in hope that i can fix it myself but plugins don't work. I get a error:"too many redirects occurred trying to open www.somesitename.com/?attachment_id=1982 ". Do i need to change something in my attachment.php fail? Any idea what is causing this problem? get_header(); ?> /* Run the loop to output the attachment. * If you want to overload this in a child theme then include a file * called loop-attachment.php and that will be used instead. */ get_template_part( 'loop', 'attachment' ); ?>
