How can i find the top keywords generating traffic, Both paid and organic, for my competitors? Are there specific tools out there I can use if I dont have access to their Google Analytics account?

Hi Rich,
Did these answers help you, or are you still looking for some more insight?

I love SEMRush for this. Give it a keyword and it'll show you the top organic and paid listings. Give it a URL and it'll give you organic and paid keywords for that URL.
SEMRush (and all tools) can only give an estimate as to the amount of traffic. These tools base these calculations by looking at the position of the competitor in the SERP, the search volume per month of that keyword, and the likelihood of someone clicking on that result.
If you know that x% of people click on the top organic result and you know how many people are searching per month for that keyword, then you can get a pretty good idea of what the traffic is going to be like for that URL.
As for which keywords are converting... you'll need Google Adwords / Analytics for that. You could ask your competitors for access which would be funny, but obviously refused!
But keep in mind, if you trying to find the "top" keywords, tools like SEMRush only report the keywords that are in use / working for a given competitor. It doesn't mean there aren't other keywords you should look into - keywords that your competitors aren't ranking for at all. In fact, that's the goal... find the keywords your competitors don't know about (and therefore tools like SEMRush don't know about).

Google Keywords Tools can give you an idea for what keywords are driving traffic.
As far as your competitors, check out Spyfu.
These are fairly 'basic' and easy to use. There are more advanced/expensive routes, but I am sure these would give you a good start/good results.

Search traffic steady, Landing pages receiving traffic had massive drop
Following the week of Google's major algorithm update in January, we saw this graph in our Moz dashboard. (green bars are # of landing pages receiving traffic from search, blue line is traffic from search) Traffic from SEO grew slightly, but number of landing pages receiving traffic fell by more than 50%. We didn't make any changes to sitemap, rel=canonical, number of pages being published, etc. Traffic from top keywords held consistent. Number of pages/images google crawled and indexed grew per webmaster tools. Big spike in Nov/Dec is because we are in retail, seasonal not technical issues. Is anyone else experience the same thing? An algo change? Or something more specific to our site? Quality traffic is what we care about, so number of pages traffic is going to could be a positive thing (easier to optimize). But jury is out. Organic Traffic Drops to Zero After Site Migration
I know this question is terribly general . . . but I don't even know where to start in terms of sharing info, which I would be glad to post on request. My site was recently re-designed and migrated to a new server. I certainly expected SOME drop in traffic as google gets the snew site all figured out, but as you can see this drop has been dramatic. It's a simple wordpress site, I have yoast ptimized on it, I don't have many obvious errors that have not already been fixed that I can see.

I'm trying to figure out what caused the decline and would love advice on where I should start digging. Any recommendations would really help me! Thanks in advance. Jodi momsfavoritestuff.com

Non search traffic in a report, user data etc
Are there any plans so we could add more data from Google Analytics to the seomoz reports? At the moment the reports are nice but my clients want to know the bigger picture than just the search traffic. They need to know the total traffic, the bounce rate, pages viewed etc - data in Google Analytics. There are other seo type tools which offer this information when you generate reports and if seomoz were to allow it then it would make life so much easier as I would not need to maintain a subscription here for the cool tools on offer and to offer websites at up to $100 a month just to generate client reports.

Using the 'Organic Traffic Data ' feature.
I don't have access to the clients Google Analytics Password. Can you set it up without being redirected to Google webmasters? Is there a way to insert a simple code into the website and then have SEOmoz double check the code? Thanks so much

Internal link question - compared with my competitors
Dear all, I started to working on SEO on my website http://www.techstation.it and I have some thing that I would clarify. I see a lot of differences between internal links of my website and my competitors that usually are placed a bit better. (Please check attached image). They have A LOT of internal links, about 2.000+ instead 137 (mine), that's wrong in my SEOMOz dashboard. Every news and article page has 120-130 links to other contents. About teh external followed links: Mine: 1,674 #1: 2,018 #2: 316 (????) - this is placed really good for some competitive keywords #3 (best ranked): 7,905 links I have two more points that I would fix: Articles ranking We were one of the first 5-6 website that published at the launch day the review of Intel Core i7 3960X CPU and started with a ranking in the last first page results, a few days alter in the second and now we are at the end of the second page. This happens .. I think... every time 😕 All my article pages are graded with "A grade" in the control panel. So what should I do for increase my rankings? Thank you very much in advance! Alex

Where in SEOMoz pro can I determine how many .edu and .gov links a competitor's site has?
Like in the SEOBook toolbar where you can click the information button and get the number of links to the domain and specific page for .edu and .gov sites. Thanks, Daniel.
