WordPress post indexation speed
-
Has anyone noticed any increases in the length of time it takes for WP posts to get indexed by Google?
I have a website with the following:
domain.com - CMS with lots of pages/content
blog.domain.com - subdomain for the blog using WP
It's odd.. the pages on the main site are indexed almost immediately. The posts on the blog are taking between 2-5 days.
The blog posts are all unique content, here's an example of a recent one:

Excellent, glad you have a sitemap. Sorry I didn't look at the robots.txt for the sitemap to begin with.
So in looking at your sitemap I can't help but pay attention to your post frequency/or lack there of. In addition to the newness of the URL, just over three months.
I always feel that post frequency plays a major role in how quickly your site is indexed, so if your updating the blog every 2-3 days you can expect a quicker indexation time. Especially if you do this for a long period of time.
In your case I see some pretty long times in between posts. They average out to about 12 days between posts. Even though recently you've posted more frequently, you haven't really set a precedent to warrant Google coming back every two to three days.
I realize that dedicating resources to write content can be tough, but if you want faster indexation I have to recommend that you increase the post frequency.
Hope That Helps!

The author tag should already be in there. It shows up when you use the tester tool: http://sht.tl/xGAw

The sitemaps are listed in the robots.txt file: blog.looksfishy.co.uk/robots.txt
They are also submitted to GWT. When I add a new post, the urls show up as being submitted but they dont get indexed

Hi Edward
I have not noticed any slow down in the speed of Google indexing Wordpress sites, the point from Paul about adding a blog sitemap is a good one, also ensure you submit it to webmaster tools.
I do not know if it will speed up the indexation times but it would not hurt to have the author attribution connected to a Google + account, it is another signal that the content is important to the blogger.
I hope this helps
Sean

Hey Edward, at first glance I don't see anything extremely out of place in your WordPress implementation. However I did notice that you have a sitemap on your main site, but not on on the blog. I've found my new pages always get indexed faster when using a sitemap that is submitted to Webmaster tools. Possibly the addition of a sitemap to the blog would help.

Website is not indexing
Hi All, My website URL is https://thepeopeople.com and it is neither caching nor indexing in Google. Earlier the URL was https://peopeople.com. I have redirected it to https://thepeopeople.com by using 301 redirections. I have checked the redirection and everything else is fine and I have submitted all the URLs in search console also, still the website is not indexing. Its been more than 5 months now. Please suggest a solution for this. Thanks in Advance.

If I change Tags and Categories in Wordpress blog post, will it negatively affect SEO and cause 404s?
Hi, I have belatedly come to the conclusion that I have been using tags and categories when blogging in wordpress incorrectly. The result is that Google seems to prefer to show my archives and tags in search results rather than the post itself. Not good UX. As the site is only a few months old, am I best to learn my lesson and tag and categorize correctly moving forward or Should I go back in to these posts and clean them up & categorize and tag correctly. If I do this, will it cause 404s and hurt my SEO? Thanks!

Index problems
“The website http://www.vaneyckshutters.com/nl/ does not show in the index of Google (site:vaneyckshutters.com/nl/). This must be the homepage in the Netherlands. Previously, the page www.vaneyckshutters.com was redirected to /nl/. This page is accessible now with a canonical tag to http://www.vaneyckshutters.com/nl/ in the hope to let /nl/ be indexed. When we look at the SERPS for keyword ‘shutters’, the page http://www.vaneyckshutters.com/ is shown in Google.nl on #32 and in Belgium #3. Problem & question: Why is it that /nl/ has not been indexed properly and why is it that we rank with http://www.vaneyckshutters.com on ‘shutters’ instead the/nl/ page?”

Who uses WordPress Tags anymore?
Just curious if people are still using WordPress Tags. I wonder if with the direction Google is going the last couple years, having sites that get bloated with extraneous Tag archives just decreases the quality of the site.

Wordpress Archive pages
In the SEOMOZ site report a number of errors were found. One of which was no or duplicate meta desctions on certain blog pages. When I drilled down to find these i noticed thosepages are the wordpress autocreated archive pages. When I searched for these through the wordpress control panel through both pages and blogs they were nowhere to be found. Does anyone know how to find these pages or are they not something I need to worry about?

Google Indexing
Hi Everybody, I am having kind of an issue when it comes to the results Google is showing on my site. I have a multilingual site, which is main language is Catalan. But of course if I am looking results in Spanish (google.es) or in English (google.com) I want Google to show the results with the proper URL, title and descriptions. My brand is "Vallnord" so if you type this in Google you will be displayed the result in Catalan (Which is not optimized at all yet) but if you search "vallnord.com/es" only then you will be displayed the result in Spanish What do I have to do in order for Google to read this the way I want? Regards, Guido.

Why google index my IP URL
hi guys, a question please. if site:112.65.247.14 , you can see google index our website IP address, this could duplicate with our darwinmarketing.com content pages. i am not quite sure why google index my IP pages while index domain pages, i understand this could because of backlink, internal link and etc, but i don't see obvious issues there, also i have submit request to google team to remove ip address index, but seems no luck. Please do you have any other suggestion on this? i was trying to do change of address setting in Google Webmaster Tools, but didn't allow as it said "Restricted to root level domains only", any ideas? Thank you! boson
