Google does not show my website anymore
-
Hi All,
We developed a new website for the domain: www.instral.com.
Before we build the webste, the domain was indexed by google and was showed as first result on a search "Instral". Without a website! Only a super simple hostingprovider webpage.
Now, with the new website, all the website pages are found in google from page 7... home page is not even in the results.
When i search on "instral.com" in google, it will show my website on first result including homepage.
Is there something wrong with the website or DNS settings? Or mabe some other webhosting setting... am i on a blacklist or something? Bing and Yahoo are showing better results (first page).
I hope someone can help me out here...

Update: It seems to be working!
I just searched instral and found you #1 for instral.com

Hi Kevin,
Once you have searched for instral and actually gone to the site, personalization will ensure that you get the result you were looking for.
I confess, there's a mean girl inside me who's tempted to sit all day and search instral, then instaloans, then instral...instaloans...instral...lol
Is it possible to push the boundary and get some kind of different result?...hmmm

Hi Sha,
I think you are right. Funny thing is...its working OK since today.
Perhaps i just needed your magic click
Thanks for your reply.

Thank you so much for your quick response! Lets give it some time then and in the mean time we use seomoz for some optimalisation

Hi Kevin,
The problem you are seeing is that Google does not recognize Instral as a highly sought after term and since they pride themselves on being "oh so helpful", the results returned are for the term "instaloans"
If you click the link to say "no, I really did want to search for instral" then you will get the result you were expecting.
Time to get a few dozen of your mates searching for your name and clicking the link from all over the place (oops, did I suggest that??)

I had the same issue with my brands & sites for awhile.
I am "High on SEO" - imagine how hard it is to rank for that term when so many agencies tell their clients they can get them "higher search rankings" and "improve SEO" and "higher SEO rankings" - it was brutal at first.
After awhile, Google started to realize that even though Facebook and LinkedIn are more authority sites than my domain, a search for my brand should return my site. Now a search for highonseo or High on SEO returns my site #1 almost always.
I think all that happened was time - I had to wait for this result to be #1 nearly all the time.
Same thing happened to my photography site. Searching for Best Day Photo without the quotes, and it wasn't top 5 pages. Now it's #1 logged out.
Google will eventually figure out that this is your brand name and the .com is relevant to the search. Just follow good SEO practices and link building. Be a bit patient and the results will show you soon.

Should we reinstate the old website?
In a nut shell we had a great site that performed well and grew month on month but it perhaps looked a bit dated. A decision was taken to build a new site and the job given to a PR agency for some reason. All the titles, H1 tags, page content and url structure was changed and now the site has drop 50% of organic traffic. I've been tasked with trying to rebuild rankings but so far it's not going well. A snapshot of the old website still exists and i'm very tempted to have it reinstated in the hopes that our traffic will recover. What are your thoughts?

Setting Up A Website For Redirects
I've got an old defunct domain with a lot of backlinks to individual pages. I'd like to use these backlinks for link juice by redirecting them to individual pages on the new domain (both sites belong to the same company). What is the best way to set this up? I presume I need some kind of hosting & site, even if it's just a default Wordpress install, which I can then use to set up the redirects? Would it be best done using .htaccess file for 301 redirects or some other way?

Can Google show the hReview-Aggregate microformat in the SERPs on a product page if the reviews themselves are on a separate page?
Hi, We recently changed our eCommerce site structure a bit and separated our product reviews onto a a different page. There were a couple of reasons we did this : We used pagination on the product page which meant we got duplicate content warnings. We didn't want to show all the reviews on the product page because this was bad for UX (and diluted our keywords). We thought having a single page was better than paginated content, or at least safer for indexing. We found that Googlebot quite often got stuck in loops and we didn't want to bury the reviews way down in the site structure. We wanted to reduce our bounce rate a little, so having a different reviews page could help with this. In the process of doing this we tidied up our microformats a bit too. The product page used to have to three main microformats; hProduct hReview-Aggregate hReview The product page now only has hProduct and hReview-Aggregate (which is now nested inside the hProduct). This means the reviews page has hReview-Aggregate and hReviews for each review itself. We've taken care to make sure that we're specifying that it's a product review and the URL of that product. However, we've noticed over the past few weeks that Google has stopped feeding the reviews into the SERPs for product pages, and is instead only feeding them in for the reviews pages. Is there any way to separate the reviews out and get Google to use the Microformats for both pages? Would using microdata be a better way to implement this? Thanks,

Does Google index has expiration?
Hi, I have this in mind and I think you can help me. Suppose that I have a pagin something like this: www.mysite.com/politics where I have a list of the current month news. Great, everytime the bot check this url, index the links that are there. What happens next month, all that link are not visible anymore by the user unless he search in a search box or google. Does google keep those links? The current month google check that those links are there, but next month are not, but they are alive. So, my question is, Does google keep this links for ever if they are alive but nowhere in the site (the bot not find them anymore but they work)? Thanks
