My Article Post Title in both the h1 and the h2 are the same. Is this good seo?
-
I'm seeing a common practice in wordpress themes where the h1 tag for a page has the logo in it, then the h2 would be the title to the article.
I've decided to place the title in the h1 dynamically, like this:
- Joe's Auto Store
where '' is the actual title to the post - the logo is still being used as a background image in the h1...
So for example, the page would show this:
How install a car battery - Joe's Auto Store
I think this is good seo still, but the other issue is that the first, subsequent
also has the exact same title because this is the actual post title, which uses the first h2 on the page to display the title. So the code would look like this:
- My Company
paragraph content text stuff
an example would be
How install a car battery - Joe's Auto Store
How install a car battery
At Joe's we teach how to install batteries on site. There are mor...(etc.)
Is this an issue since the post title in both the h1 and h2 are nearly the same (except for the company name)? Is this good seo still?

OK - so with that philosophy, should you keep h1 - h4 to the content areas, but leave h5 and h6 to places such as sidebars?
I'm guessing in this way, main content remains the focal point semantically while the sidebar should score less importantly...

I wouldn't stress about the
tag, it's not that big of a ranking factor, if at all. As long as you aren't overusing your keywords to the point of spamminess, having the same
and
tag should not be a problem.

I would say no, the H2 is purposefully for setting out something else on the page e.g. a H1 might be 'Dog Leads' and the H2 might be 'Leather Dog Leads'. Also why waste the opportunity to help the page rank for something a bit different, in the above case 'leather dog leads'? I cant imagine why anyone would want to SEO a page for just 1 keyword.
To use your exact example above I would do something like:
How to install a car battery - Joe's Auto Store
Car battery installation
I dont think having the same h1 & h2 because it makes automation of your tags easier a great reason to do this. If that is your reason, then presumably it will happen right throughout the site and you will have the h1 & h2 replicating itself 100s of times which looks very spammy.

Is Removing Breadcrumbs Detrimental for SEO?
We have full navigational breadcrumbs on our site for the menu and the brand menu. i.e. Home > Clothing > Jackets Brand > Brand Name > Brand Jackets There's been talk of removing this and having it like Chico's does, where on item pages they just have a link at the top to previous category (i.e. you're on a shirt product page and at the top it says "Back to Tops" instead of listing Home > Clothing > Tops) Is doing something like this detrimental to SEO? From what I've read Breadcrumbs are for user experience but I just want to be sure.

Duplicate Title Tags How harmful is it?
I recently updated a site to use a new WordPress theme. This theme in conjunction with Yoast SEO plugin is causing duplicate Title tags. The tags have the same title in them. I discovered this when adding new keywords and pages to the page optimizer in moz. I have since turned off moz to stop the duplicate title tag issue however I am wondering if tuning off yoast is worse then the duplicate title tags. Any clarification on the duplicate page title issue and its consequences would be greatly appreciated.

Title Element Too Long Question
I have recently become a pro member of SEOmoz and I've been going through the crawl diagnostics summary in an attempt to fix some of the errors. Currently I have 2,167 pages where the title element is too long. I would like to fix this, but I have certain keywords present on all of the pages that I am ranking first for. I am afraid if I take these words out of my titles it will hurt my rank for those keywords. Is it better to leave the keywords in or remove them to get under the 70 character mark?

Article Marketing for Backlinks
Ok I know there's a lot of information already on here about Article Marketing for SEO, but I need to know if anyone here has recently ran an article campaign successfully? Correct me if I am wrong, but submitting the same article to a bunch (more than 1-2) article directories for back links is a bad idea. Right? Maybe it worked in 2006, but now even the site themselves (Article Directories) are just so polluted with spam from the pass that, that Even if you submitted a genuine article.. it would still not give you as much Juice because the sites themselves are considered spamy. Looking at Alexa's ranking of Ezine Articles kind of proves that, after Panda Hit. The bottom line is, my boss says I have to start writing articles for backlinks. He wanted me to blast them across multiple directories. So I need to be absolutely certain that where I place these articles will have Quality impact on our sites SEO. Tips, Advice, Links, THANKS! Google not using <title>for SERP?</title>
Today I noticed that Google is not using my title tag for one of my pages. Search for "covered call search" Look at organic result 6: Search - Covered Calls Covered call screener filters 150000 options instantly to find the best high yield covered calls that meet your custom criteria. Free newsletter.<cite>https://www.borntosell.com/search</cite> - CachedNow, if you click through to that page you see the meta title tag is:Covered Call ScreenerEven the cached version shows the title tag as Covered Call ScreenerI am not logged in, so I don't believe personalization has anything to do with it.Have others seen this before? It is possible that "search - covered calls" was the title tag 9 months ago (before I understood SEO); I honestly don't remember. I cleaned all my titles up at least 6 months ago.Can I force Google to re-index the page? Its content has changed a few times in the last few months, and Google crawls my site frequently according to webmaster tools.
