Multinational SEO

Hi all
The situation:
We have a .com website that is the core of our business over the last 3 years we have built this into a very sucessful brand. Customers are able to purchase products from our website and have it delivered anywhere in the world.
As part of the development of our business we want to obviously rank high within serps regardless of what country our potential customer is from.
We understand that we will need to translate much of our website to achieve this and that is something that we have in the pipeline.
My question is more aimed at the English speaking countries and how we should optimise our website for these.
For example:
websitename.com.au and websitename.co.uk were initialy setup as 301 redirects to websitename.com, however, we have now set them up as their own domains which display the exact same content as the .com website.
So to clarify the content on websitename.com/product1.html is also on websitename.com.au/product1.html and websitename.co.uk/product1.html
What would the best way to ensure that our .com.au and .co.uk gain traction within the appropriate country?
Is duplicate content still an issue?
All our prices are displayed in USD will this go againts?
We use US English (with a sprinkle of chinglish) as our websites copy languange should we change spelling for AU and UK?
Does anyone have any case studies and or other reports I can read that may help me find the right solution for us.
Thanks
Danny

First off, I agree with the advice that Charles has given you. Keep them all on the same domain! It means that your DA will help the authority of your pages aimed at other countries. Now, let me address your other questions:

Yes, duplicate content is still an issue. You can solve it using the rel=hreflang tag. This will tell Google for what country the content is meant. For instructions on how to apply it, check this post: http://searchenginewatch.com/article/2232347/A-Simple-Guide-to-Using-relalternate-hreflangx

Pricing your products locally can be helpful, in establishing your commitment to that market. I just read this article that could be helpful when thinking about that strategy: http://searchengineland.com/how-international-pricing-strategy-website-forms-impact-global-search-marketing-147265

If at all possible, localizing the way things are written will also show your commitment. We work exclusively on Spanish language projects, and I can tell you that we have to localize quite a bit depending on the market we are going after.
Let me know if you need any more help, I'll be glad to point you in the right direction if I can.

Best SEO url woocommerce, what to do?
Hi! Today we have our product categories indexed (by misstake) and for one of our desired keywords, a category have the nr 1 rank. By misstake, we didnt set nofollow, noindex on our categories, just tags, archives etc. We are now migrating to from Ithemes Exchange to Woocommerce and ime looking on improving our SEO urls for the categories. For keyword "Key1" we rank with this url: http://site/product-category/Key1. The seo meta title and description where untouched when we launched the site last spring so it doesnt look so good.. The plan is to stripe out product-category and instead ad some description ( i have a newly written text of 95 words, 519 letters without space with they keyword precent 5 times in a natural way ) to that particular category and have the url as following: http://site/key1 and then have a 301 redirect for the old http://site/product-category/Key1. What do you think of this? What shall i consider? on the right track? Grateful for any help! // Jonas

SEO - Why variation in Google positioning? Are we penalized?
Our webiste is made of 2 different parts hosted in 2 different directory on the same domain: 1. The website itself, which can be seen as a catalog. 2. A blog on WP. Sometimes we lose 50% of our traffic and 5 to 10 days later the traffic goes up again. When looking at position in Google it appears that when losses of traffic happen, the Google positions of pages from the website become bad. The blog pages themselves keep their good position. Suddenly after few days we find our previous good postioning and we have a good traffic again. Here at the questions we have: 1. Why do we have variation on our Google positioning? Which parameters can influence? Bounce rate? Speed? 3. Why only the website is penalized and never the WP blog whereas they are on same domain? If someone has experienced it before or has a idea, your expertise is welcome... Thanks.

SEO Strategy for Microsite
I am working on a project to build a microsite of sorts that will represent a joint program between two large organizations with established web presences and strong domains. Each of the organizations has dedicated sections on their sites speaking to the program, but the leadership has decided the joint program deserves it's own site with dedicated content. The two larger sites perform very well for SEO, and I don't necessarily want to jeopordize thir rankings by delivering content that competes directly with them. So I am doing some keyword research to find some opportunities that will alllow me to use the new site to target keywords not yet being captialized by the larger sites. My grand scheme is to have the three sites targeting the broadest array of keywords possible, thus maximizing exposure and avoiding competition. Here is the rub: the content between the three sites will be different but very similar, and there will be plenty of cross linking, especially from the existing sites to the new site, as we grow the brand of the joint program. I'm curious to here some expert opinions on what the puitfalls of the strategy are and what are some of the things I can do to avoid falling in the black hat category - I recognize that proliferating sites around a single topic and cross linking them is black hat. The organizations simply want to build a brand around a joint program and we are striggling to do that without a dedicated website.
