Open Site Explorer Link Metrics
-
I'm new to SEOMOZ. I have a Pro account and have been messing with the tools available. I ran a report in Open Site Explorer on one of my prospects. I also entered in several of their competitors to see how they rank.
I would like to show the report to my prospective client but couldn't figure out how to download the information. Is that info available for download? Does anyone have a recommendation for showing prospects how they rank against their competitors.
Any help appreciated.

It's been over 2 years since this question was raised. Would also love to see an export option for compare metrics. Any idea as to when it will be added?

As there are so many more good visual analytics tools coming on the market and visual comparison tools coming out, this is exactly the sort of format that people want to present their data to clients to easily understand.
So when you see the good visuals and data in the seomoz competitor report but have no way of extracting that its a bit frustrating. For now i use alternative tools but hope seomoz implements some simple pdf export soon.

Thanks for reaching out to us- this is Abe from the SEOmoz help team. Even though this export feature is not currently available in Opensiteexplorer, you can export this exact information from the Link Analysis link in the SEOmoz PRO Web App. This would be a great addition to OSE, I do agree. I would recommend sending a feature request so we can hopefully implement this export option within OSE in the future: http://seomoz.zendesk.com/forums/293194-seomoz-pro-feature-requests
I hope this helps!

I am also looking to download the 'compare link metics' but doesn't appear to be a button for it?
Who would like to chip in with an answer to this please?

Why isnt my site in top 10 SERPs?
Our website, https://www.tradewindfinance.com, hasnt improved ranking for keyword " international trade finance companies." we average around the 10th page of Google SERPs. Our DA, PA, and links are higher thank the top 10 competitors. What are we doing wrong or what can I do to increase rank?

Open Site Explorer detects links from a site that redirects to it? How is this possible?
I was checking external links to a site: scte-brasilien.de/ and was wondering why there are so many links pointing from another domain (reisen-nach-brasilien.com/) although it redirects to scte-brasilien.de/? So when checking the redirecting domain OSE knows its redirecting... The URL you've entered redirects to another URL. We're showing results for scte-brasilien.de/ since it is likely to have more accurate link metrics. See data forreisen-nach-brasilien.com/ instead? How is this possible? best regards

Internal Links Data on OSE and poor ranking despite excellent metrics
Hi folks, I use OSE a lot for comparing where we stand against our competitors and I'm always surprised to see most of our competitors have loads more internal links than we do. For example, comparing 'www.kensyard.co.uk' with 'www.sterlingbuild.co.uk', we are better on every Root Domain Metric except for the Total Links metric and this is down to a much smaller number of internal links. They are ranking better than us in Google so I'm wondering if there is something wrong with the way our site is coded / structured that means Google and OSE are not picking up our internal link network properly? We have over nine times as many external root domains linking to our site than theirs, which is surely a far more valuable metric than internal links right? Or is there an issue with our internal link structure that is confusing Google and causing us to rank lower? Many thanks for any advice, Luke

Competitors links increasing rapidly
Hi there, I have 3 main competitors who I keep my eye on within Moz and I am always comparing pages as they are all sell similar products in the same way but we're increasingly getting more things put in place to make ourselves different, which is why we rank number 1 in the UK for their competitive keywords (without blowing my own trumpet!). One thing I have noticed, a competitor seems to be doing things the old school way. He has around 15 competitive keywords in his pages meta tag (irrelevant) and then has a huge 400 - 500 word description on each page describing whats on the page, what products are in that category (if it's a category page) or localised information if it's a company page. What seems to be odd, is that before penguin/panda their website had around 1,200,000 total links. Then after panda, he went down to around 300,000 total links. In the past few weeks I've noticed that he has gradually increased in total links from 300,000(estimate) to now 961,811 total links in a matter of weeks. Is this an error/glitch within Moz or is he doing something that may be classed as "blackhat" or is it something I shouldn't really be worrying about? Any feedback appreciated 🙂 Tom

How do I see all links to my site in Web Explore?
It appears that the Web Explore looks for exact matches to a page. I'd like to see all matches to any page. Will regular expressions work?

Can open site explorer miss incoming links?
In open site explorer I only see one linking domain, eventhough I know of at least 1 other. Why is that?

Link Diagnosis and Open Site Explorer
I work at a web design firm that's starting to offer SEO to its clients. They want to keep costs down until the SEO side becomes more established, so I've been using mostly free tools to do the SEO. I've been using a website called LinkDiagnosis.com to check backlinks for clients. It says the data is provided by SEOmoz, so I thought it must be pretty reliable. However, I just signed up for the PRO trial to test out all of SEOmoz's tools (& hopefully convince my company to sign us up), and I find that the link information between the 2 tools can be vastly different! Sometimes the number of unique linking domains is very close, but other times it can be off by hundreds, even thousands, with Open Site Explorer typically providing the higher numbers. Is the Link Diagnosis tool really powered with data from SEOmoz, or does it just receive a portion of the data, since it's a free tool? I'm just trying to figure out what will be the most reliable solution for me to keep using, and the discrepancies between the two tools has caused me to question the reliability of both. Thanks, Hector

Ahead in all metrics, and not even close
For my chosen keyword(s), I rank below the #1 entry by far, am a little beneath the #2 in all metrics, but way ahead of the #3 entry in all metrics (domain authority, page authority, links, etc...). I don't even come close to the first page, however. I'm figuring there's something horribly wrong (and probably obvious) that I'm doing and just not seeing. The site in question is www.thedjbay.com and the most important keyword of choice is "tampa dj." I'm not sure if maybe there's some other metric I'm not getting, or something really bad I'm doing with my site overall. Thanks in advance for any help!
