Certain Pages Not Being Indexed - Please Help
-
We are having trouble getting a bulk of our pages indexed in google. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
The Following Page types are being indexed through escaped fragment:
http://www.cbuy.tv/celebrity#!65-Ashley-Tisdale/fashion/4097-Casadei-BLADE-PUMP/Product/175199
<cite>www.cbuy.tv/celebrity/155-Sophia-Bush#!</cite>
However, all our pages that look like this, are not being indexed:

Hi Takeshi,
We have a sitemap but also the pages are all interlinked. I didn't know that google puts an upper-bound on indexing based on PR - that's interesting.
Since there is a black and white difference between a set of pages of a certain kind (zero of these pages are being indexed) I suspect there is some other issue. Is it at all possible that google does not like the urls of these pages? :
1. does google not like the parameters?
2. should we reduce the length of our guid id number and move it to the end of the url?

Where are these pages being linked from? If you want these pages indexed, you may want to try making them more prominent in your site's navigation and architecture. Listing them in a sitemap can help them get discovered by Google, but actually linking to them from your site will have much more impact.
Also, I notice that the site is only pagerank 2, and already has 5000+ pages indexed in Google. Google limits the number of pages it indexes for sites based on their pagerank, so you may want to consider improving your PR so Google indexes more pages from your site.

Hi Mike,
I am sure you've probably already barked up this tree, but do those pages contain 100% substantially unique content?
Also, have you had an SEO developer review your robots.txt and .htaccess files to make sure there isn't something it there preventing crawlers from having access?

Hello Dana,
Thanks for your reply.
We have thousands of #! pages being indexed. Googlebot is sent to our escaped fragment page through a redirect. Our dynamic sitemap helped us get many pages indexed. However there are a subset of pages that google does not like at all and we cannot figure out why. For example when you visit our homepage, http://www.cbuy.tv, then navigate through images in our carousel (each assigned a unique url) none of these pages are being indexed.

Hi Mike,
I am not a developer, but I think the problem is the hashtag in your URL. This is a problem for search engines in that, anything following the "#" is completely ignored by search engines.
Depending on your platform, I would consider re-writing all of your URLs to omit that hashtag completely. Search engines (and humans!) can respond in unpredictable ways to anything other than alpha-neumeric characters. Then I would implement 301 redirects if necessary (depending on how old the site is and how many inbound links there are to each page).
I don't think that sitemap submission is even going to help right now because of the hashtag issue, but I'd love to hear from a developer on this for verification.
I hope this helps!
Dana

Google Indexing Of Pages As HTTPS vs HTTP
We recently updated our site to be mobile optimized. As part of the update, we had also planned on adding SSL security to the site. However, we use an iframe on a lot of our site pages from a third party vendor for real estate listings and that iframe was not SSL friendly and the vendor does not have that solution yet. So, those iframes weren't displaying the content. As a result, we had to shift gears and go back to just being http and not the new https that we were hoping for. However, google seems to have indexed a lot of our pages as https and gives a security error to any visitors. The new site was launched about a week ago and there was code in the htaccess file that was pushing to www and https. I have fixed the htaccess file to no longer have https. My questions is will google "reindex" the site once it recognizes the new htaccess commands in the next couple weeks?

Category Page as Shopping Aggregator Page
Hi, I have been reviewing the info from Google on structured data for products and started to ponder.
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | Alexcox6
https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/products Here is the scenario.
You have a Category Page and it lists 8 products, each products shows an image, price and review rating. As the individual products pages are already marked up they display Rich Snippets in the serps.
I wonder how do we get the rich snippets for the category page. Now Google suggest a markup for shopping aggregator pages that lists a single product, along with information about different sellers offering that product but nothing for categories. My ponder is this, Can we use the shopping aggregator markup for category pages to achieve the coveted rich results (from and to price, average reviews)? Keen to hear from anyone who has had any thoughts on the matter or had already tried this.0 -
Links / Top Pages by Page Authority ==> pages shouldnt be there
I checked my site links and top pages by page authority. What i have found i dont understand, because the first 5-10 pages did not exist!! Should know that we launched a new site and rebuilt the static pages so there are a lot of new pages, and of course we deleted some old ones. I refreshed the sitemap.xml (these pages are not in there) and upload it in GWT. Why those old pages appear under the links menu at top pages by page authority?? How can i get rid off them? thx, Endre

My indexed pages count is shrinking in webmaster tools. Is this normal ?
I noticed that our total # of indexed pages dropped recently by a substantial amount (see chart below) Is this normal? http://imgur.com/4GWzkph Also, 3 weeks after this started dropping, we got a message on increased # of crawl errors and found that a site update was causing 300+ new 404s. could this be related ?

Links to images on a page diluting page value?
We have been doing some testing with additional images on a page. For example, the page here:
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | Peter264
http://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/2550/sukhoi-su-27-flanker-package-for-fsx/ Notice the images under the heading Images/Screenshots After adding these images, we noticed a ranking drop for that page (-27 places) in the SERPS. Could the large amount of images - in particular the links on the images (links to the larger versions) be causing it to dilute the value of the actual page? Any suggestions, advice or opinions will be much appreciated.0 -

Landing page indexed and ranking in less then 24 hours
Hi, I got a landing page which went up last night about 11pm. Its been indexed and ranked since then. Its a EMD and has about 600 words of unqiue content. It currently sits on page 9 for what I would say is a non competitive term (the top result is not an EMD and has 10 backlinks from the same site, which has no PR). Now my question is this: Would you say that page 9 is the given position Google thinks this website should sit at? Or because its so new could I very much expect some more movement? Basically up the rankings? Cheers
