Getting a Facebox Item De-Indexed
-
Hello all,
Select pages on a website I manage utilizes Facebox lightbox elements for additional information. These Faceboxes have been indexed as their own pages by Google. Unfortunately, when they were created, there is no call to action or navigation elements or anything. So I would prefer that Google not index them since it is a pretty horrible user experience if you navigate to one of these Faceboxes directly.
I have tossed up no-index tags on each about three weeks ago, but they are still being indexed at present. Is there any tips or tricks that anyone has to handle this scenario or any ideas that I am not thinking of outside of just no-indexing them?
Thanks in advance!

How long should it take for indexed pages to update
Google has crawled and indexed my new site, but my old URLS appear in the search results. Is there a typical amount of time that it takes for Google to update the URL's displayed in search results?

How to Get Google to Recognize Your Pages Are Gone
Here's a quick background of the site and issue. A site lost half of its traffic over 18 months ago and its believed to be a Panda penalty. Many, many items were already taken care of and crossed off the list, but here's something that was recently brought up. There are 30,000 pages indexed in Google, but there are about 12,000 active products. Many of these pages in their index are out of stock items. A site visitor cannot find them by browsing the site unless he/she had bookmarked and item before, was given the link by a friend, read about it, etc. If they get to an old product because they had a link to it, they will see an out of stock graphic and not allow to make the purchase. So, efforts have been made about 1 month ago to 301 old products to something similar, if possible, or 410 them. Google has not been removing them from the index. My question is how to make sure Google sees that these pages are no longer there and remove from the index? Some of the items have links to them and this will help Google see them, but what about the items which have 0 external / internal links? Thanks in advance for your assistance. In working on a site which has about 10,000 items available for sale. Looking in G

Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | FCRMediaLietuva
and we have a mobile version for it m.imones.lt We originally put noindex for m.imones.lt. Is it a good decision or no? We believe that if google indexes both it creates double content. We definitely don't want that? But when someone through google goes to any of imones.lt webpage using smartphone they are redirected to m.imones.lt/whatever Thank you for your opinion.0 -

Best solution to get mass URl's out the SE's index
Hi, I've got an issue where our web developers have made a mistake on our website by messing up some URL's . Because our site works dynamically IE the URL's generated on a page are relevant to the current URL it ment the problem URL linked out to more problem URL's - effectively replicating an entire website directory under problem URL's - this has caused tens of thousands of URL's in SE's indexes which shouldn't be there. So say for example the problem URL's are like www.mysite.com/incorrect-directory/folder1/page1/ It seems I can correct this by doing the following: 1/. Use Robots.txt to disallow access to /incorrect-directory/* 2/. 301 the urls like this:

www.mysite.com/incorrect-directory/folder1/page1/
301 to:
www.mysite.com/correct-directory/folder1/page1/ 3/. 301 URL's to the root correct directory like this:
www.mysite.com/incorrect-directory/folder1/page1/
www.mysite.com/incorrect-directory/folder1/page2/
www.mysite.com/incorrect-directory/folder2/ 301 to:
www.mysite.com/correct-directory/ Which method do you think is the best solution? - I doubt there is any link juice benifit from 301'ing URL's as there shouldn't be any external links pointing to the wrong URL's.0 -
