Duplicate Content Issue because of root domain and index.html

SEOMoz crawl diagnostics is suggesting that my root domain and the rootdomain/index.html are duplicate content. What can be done to ensure that both are considered as a single age only?

Add this to your .htaccess file

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^./index.html?\ HTTP/
RewriteRule ^(.)index.html?$ "/$1" [R=301,L]

This will redirect attempts to hit index.html back to root.

I have an issue with hubspot's blog platform and duplicate content.

Moz is treating my pages as duplicate content but the pages have different content in reality

Can't figure out why some of my pages are duplicate content

Within the crawl diagnostics area I'm getting duplicate page content issues on several pages. Duplicate Page Titles & Content

We have just launched a new version of a website and after running it through SEOMOZ we have over 6000 duplicate title & content errors. (awesome) 😕 We have products that show up multiple times under different URLs however we "thought" we had implemented the rel=canonical correctly. My question is - do these errors still show up in SEOMOZ despite the canonical tags being there OR if they were "correct" would we be getting "zero" errors?

Confused on setting up my domain in a campaign

I have a website that is www.example.com. When I first setup my campaign in SEOMoz, I missed the instructions that stated I need to set up my domain as it appeared in the browser. Thus, I set it up as example.com. When I realized my mistake, I setup a second campaign as www.example.com and am running them side by side to see the differences. My question has to do with the best setup. I have a blog that is a subdomain as blog.example.com. It appears that the www.example.com campaign is not crawling the blog pages but example.com is. Are there any downsides in setting up this campaign as example.com? I have a number of other sites with the same issue so would like to get this resolved before I setup the additional sites. Thanks for any assistance or insights into ways I may be "shooting myself in the foot" with the wrong domain structure in my campaign settings.

Duplicate page content due to Sort By dropdown

Hi there, I have over 150 Duplicate Page Title errors showing up in SEOMoz but on closer inspection these are related to the 'Sort By:' functionality on our ecommerce site that allows customers to sort our products by Price, Alphabetically etc. To give an example: http://www.parklanechampagne.co.uk/park-lane-champagne/special-occasions/easter Is showing as being duplicated by this page: http://www.parklanechampagne.co.uk/park-lane-champagne/special-occasions/easter?productlisting_page=1&sortorder=Price Does anyone know how I can resolve this? 404 Page/Content Duplicates & its "Warning"

My website has MANY duplicate pages and content which are both derived from the MANY 404 pages on my website. While these are flagged in SEOmoz as "Warnings," should this be of concern to SEO effectiveness?

Campaignes for sub domains

Rand yoou mentioned soon we will be able to list the root domain and be able to track subdomains also in the same campaigne. I could not find the article again now, do you have a ETA?
