What is a good CTR for a Google AdWords Remarketing banner campaign?
-
Hello there, given that in the banners we offer a promotion with "some bonus if you sign up", what is from your experience a good CTR for a Google AdWords Remarketing banner campaign?
Many thanks to everyone that answers.

Many thanks Rui, we'll try Yahoo! and Bing advertising.

I have no idea what a good CTR would be for the fields you mentioned
You should start the campaigns, split test different ads with different images, headlines, CTAs etc for your remarketing campaigns and keep improving your CTRs
Is in your opinion the Remarketing a good solution, in terms of increaseing the PPC budget by a reasonable profit margin for these 4 market fields (a, b, c, d )?
if the website is set up correctly, then remarketing can work well for all of these. if it's leather bags and they added the bag to the checkout but didn't proceed, then you can target these people specifically and lure them back to the website to finish the transaction.
I assume with automotive the objective is to get their contact details in which case remarketing will work well
Which kind of PPC (other than AdWords) would you use for them?
well i don't know the specifics of the business so it's difficult to say
for online printing, if it involves printing photos, then fb marketing can work well. leather bags could also work well on fb
beds and mattresses -- you could try yahoo & bing advertising as you would probably get lower cost/click than u would on adwords

We have different products for different clients and the purpose of the initial question was to understand (if exists) a kind of "cross-sectorial" typical CTR for a Remarketing campaign based on the average of real data of other PPC professionals.
Right now have several remarketing campaigns running for different clients, specifically we would like to know what do you think to be a good CTR for this market fields:
a) Automotive (high profit margin for each acquisition).
b) Online printing (low profit margin for each acquisition).
c) Beds and mattresses e-commerce (high profit margin for each acquisition).
d) Leather bags (medium profit margin for each acquisition). Is in your opinion the Remarketing a good solution, in terms of increaseing the PPC budget by a reasonable profit margin for these 4 market fields (a, b, c, d )?
Which kind of PPC (other than AdWords) would you use for them?
Many thanks.

Monthly subscription indeed!
Customer value is around $190 at the moment and remarketing brings them in at around $19 at last count
What product/service are you thinking of using remarketing for?
-
Many thanks Rui for sharing with us your data! It's very helpful for us!
Anyway, which kind business model do you have for your "education product"? Monthly subscription?
-
I run an education product.
I'm getting around 0.81% on the remarketing campaign over the last 30 days but conversion rates are crazy -- I'm getting triple the normal conversion rates.
I don't know if the CTR is a good one but compared to normal display campaigns where I get around 0.20-0.27%, it's a much higher CTR than what I usually get

Thank you Logan, we're aware that the CTR depends on a ton of factors, we just needed to listen about some real-world CTR from other marketers that had run Google AdWords remarketing campaigns.
Many thanks for your answer!

This is almost too vague of a question, because CTR is really dependent on a ton of variables, such as:
-
Perceived value of said "bonus"
-
Industry served
-
How specific, or broad your targeting is
-
Do you cap your impressions?
-
Branding and brand recognition (does it look familiar to the viewer - do they recall your message your brand, what your product is all about?)
-
The design/interactivity of the ad
Remarketing campaigns can vary significantly on those factors (and probably others), but if you can achieve 1% that would be pretty impressive IMO. Realistically, most the remarketing campaigns I've run (healthcare industry) end up .01-.75% CTR.

Huge Drop in Shopping Campaigns clicks
Anyone else experiencing a huge drop in impressions/clicks? we noticed on Friday a sudden drop with impressions/clicks on multiple shopping campaigns which have been running very successfully for a number of years, we have checked merchant centre for any errors or warnings, also checked our feed everything looks OK apart from the extreme sudden drop. All our search campaigns are performing as normal, our natural rankings are also perfectly normal, just affecting shopping campaigns, we cannot figure out why. Anyone else seen any extreme changes with shopping campaigns recently? We are based in the UK

Setting a total monthly spend limit for the Adwords account
Hi, I manage a number of campaigns and even though I keep an eye on daily budget based on our monthly budget, I freak out thinking we would waste a lot more money accidentally. Is there a way how I can set a cap for the whole Adwords account so I will not go over, even if I leave daily campaign budgets on crazy amounts? Thanks. Regards, Katarina

Adwords Express Placement and Explanation
I spoke with the adwords express rep about this, and he was extremely vague and unhelpful. So, I'd appreciate some assistance...even though it's a lot of questions. Whatever insights you can share to any portion of this, i would greatly appreciate. We setup an adwords express account, and we set our budget $50 over what Adwodrds Express says was our competitors average range. However, our ads only show up on the bottom right side of page 2. We are trying to figure out why that is? Are adwords express accounts only placed on the lower tier of PPC by definition? Will they always be on the bottom of a sidebar on the second page? Does it depend on how much we are willing to pay a month? So, if we double what we are willing to pay per month, will the ad move up? Also, it's not clear to me at all, how much we are being charged per click or how we are being billed. How are they determining what each click costs? Happy Friday and thanks in advance, Ruben

Seeking Critique on PPC Campaign Gameplan
Background: We're a home service business with potential for recurring clients. In the past, I've run PPC campaigns for a much larger company, and was profitable, but the business model was vastly different. The campaign also took place during their busy season, allowing flexibility I won't receive here. Campaign Details: AdWords only SERPs only (not partner network) Desktop users only Data Available: Lots of past data was incomplete, prompting my best estimates and judgment calls. For past leads data, I'm using Google as lead source (organic + local pack rankings), generated specifically from our quote form. Since our quote form doesn't render on Mobile/Tablet, I omitted those visits from our Analytics data, and only target Desktop in the campaign. I wound up with the following statistics: Organic (any web search), Desktop visitors who viewed our quote form page: Number of overall pageviews Number of overall leads generated from our quote form Number of overall leads which converted to sales And for our sales/numbers end of things: % our clients choose targeted package Revenue of initial sale on that package Profit generated from sale on that package Using these numbers, I calculated the % of clickers likely to bounce, complete the form, convert to clients, etc. Using our sales records, I calculated revenue/profit expected from each. And with that, I calculated the highest CPC to break even (unacceptable, obviously), as well as the projected ROI from lower, more reasonable CPCs. Notes: We're a home service business. Not all homes are created equal. Through data, I found our clients average home size and the average estimate for that home. Due to incomplete records, I can't know which Google _clients _are specific to our quote form. Some likely called through the local pack or manually dialed and said "Google" if our staff asked. To combat this, I found the % of Google _leads _who completed the quote form vs. phone call, email and applied it to clients for a reliable estimate (our system removes the quote form identifier upon lead to client conversion). I'm not factoring in the % of clients who become recurring customers as I don't have this data. Given that it's much higher than 0%, I think this allows a LOT of breathing room on my estimates. Many of our clients have stayed with us for years. If only a small number convert to long-term status, the current ROI shoots WAY up. Similar to above, I'm also not factoring in the % of clients who don't choose the initial package, but instead choose a lesser package. Again, I think this provides breathing room. Any PPC campaign will have a plethora of variables, especially intangible issues (damages, refunds, etc). I feel I have the important things down, but I'm far from an expert. I'd love to receive any advice or things I'm overlooking. Thanks.

How does this company have more characters than allowed on Google Ads?
I thought this was weird and was wondering if anyone knows the answer to this... I attached the image so you can see what I mean. How does this company get away with having more characters than what Google Adwords allows? And why is there a "block ads from" thing underneath this ad, but not the others? Sorry for the bad arrow, I'm on Windows XP lol Thanks you 🙂 G2d9gIr.jpg

Best method to measure conversions (Adwords)
Hi, I am a new member and fairly new to PPC. I have a service based site (car detailing) and I have been using Adwords for quite sometime now. My primary question is about tracking conversions. I have dedicated landing pages for each one of my ad groups (and some kw specific landing pages). When a potential customer lands on one of my pages - lets say my "car wash" page, they have the option to: Call from that page to book a service (I have a trackable number on that pages) Book online (its a 3rd party booking app with no tracking functionality) Continue to my main site for find out about our other services (I have a few outbound links set up on the page) But, I am running into problems when it comes to conversion tracking. I am not doing any call tracking via Adwords, so what would be the most effective way for me to track conversions? A) Should I set up event tracking in order to count outbound clicks as conversions? B) Should I remove all outbound links from that landing page and use the custom phone number on that page? My fear with this option is that customers may want to see additional services that are on my primary site. Therefore, I don't want to limit them to that landing page only. C) Should I use Adwords call tracking? If I go this route, I would have to decrease my campaign budgets in order to offset the call tracking costs. Or maybe there is another option I should consider that someone with more experience could offer. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Keyword quota exceeded! Need help with Adwords Strategy
Hello, I was playing around with my Adwords and received a nice message from Google saying "Keywood Quota exceed". Basically I have too many keywords. That made me wonder if I could organize my keywords better. I sell tractor parts online. The majority of traffic is from people putting the part number into Google i.e 0J51MP5ON . It therefore made sense to use the manufactures SKU as keywords. The problem is that we have 30,000 keywords and will be moving to 100,000 - which above the Google limit. Each keyword links to the appropriate page on the website i.e. 0J51MP5ON goes to the 0J51MP5ON page. To make things simpler I could cut down on keywords by redirecting all parts starting with 0J5 to a 0J5 landing page for parts being with 0J5. The would be from the same Tractor manufacturer. However, I am worried this will reduce conversation rates. It will make it easier to manage the keywords. Anyone got any better suggestions?
