SEOMoz Question
-
Hi,
I have taken over SEO on a real estate site with an internal blog. Unfortunately there are loads of duplicated pages and titles in the blog. It was suggested that all should be rel=canonical so not to show up. In my last crawl here though they still do. So question is if SEOMoz crawls and sees them is Google also seeing them?
Also would it be best to move the blog off site so this does not cause anymore damage and just link to it from the main site?
Thanks for your comments

that could help but would just shift the issue elsewhere - but it's worth a try.
if you'd like a chat in a bit more of a private setting head to my profile and send me a message in private, or go through to the company site and get in touch that way.

HI Andy, Thanks for that. What if I just put the blog on it's own domain and just a link to it from the main site. I am not looking for traffic so to speak on the blog. There is a lot more to it to be honest just trying to isolate it from the individual site itself.
Thanks

long story short, rel canonical isn't the tool for the job - manual work (to an extent) is.
titles and content want to be unique even if you have canonicals. if you miss use canonicals you can have other issue within your site and serps so be careful. my advice is point blank remove the dupe content whether by manually changing content and titles.

I am experimenting with Raven Tools and have a question
Since I am an in-house SEO I'm a little slower to adopt some of the paid tools out there, but I am thinking of jumping in and opting for the paid version of Raven Tools. Can anyone who's currently using Raven Tools suggest how and where is the best place to export backlinks info for import into the Link Manager? I want something that will give me as much of the data as possible already filled in (i.e. PR, domain authority, anchor text, follow/no follow information etc.). I don't mind if I have to rearrange it, I just don't want to have to be inputting things like PR and anchor text one at a time by hand. I do have SEOMoz pro and I see that I can pull a CSV of backlinks and do two separate reports, one for followed and one for not followed links, etc. I'm just wondering if anyone has any additional suggestions. How about Ahrefs.com? Is anyone using the paid version of that tool in conjunction with Raven Tools for Link Management? Is there a better tool out there for Link Management than Raven Tools? (I just found this link in a Q & A thread for an open source SEO panel to try...http://www.seopanel.in/ - anyone using that one?) Thanks all!

So I created a Twitter feed for SEOmoz Q&A posts
I was looking for a way to subscribe to the SEOmoz Q&A posts so I could keep an eye on any new questions that I felt I could provide adequate answers to, but apparently there is no RSS feed available. So I made my own Twitter account to automatically post the new questions and felt like sharing it here in case anyone else would be interested in following - http://twitter.com/SEOQA. Additional info - 1. It only updates once an hour since I didn't want to constantly hammer the SEOmoz servers every minute checking for new questions. Which means the Twitter account will post how ever many questions there are once every hour, so sometimes it can get a little annoying seeing your feed bombarded with 6 tweets in a row from the same account. 2. Some question titles contain more characters than Twitter allows in addition to the URL, so some of them get cut off. Not sure how to fix that but it rarely happens so I don't tend to mind it. 3. It simply posts any new questions asked in any category since I'm not sure of a way to choose a certain category. It would be awesome if SEOmoz provided RSS feeds/Twitter accounts to follow for a particular category. 😉 4. I'm not affiliated with SEOmoz (other than being a PRO member) and I'm not making any money off this so I hope it's okay that I set this up! Let me know if anybody has any comments or questions or suggestions for how to make it better.

Edit SEOmoz Profile Bug
Hi,
Moz Pro | | rayvensoft
I am trying to complete my SEOmoz profile, but there seems to be a bug. I am able to fill out everything except the 'favorite topics'. It lets me go in and fill it out, but when I click the update button to save it it does not save, and still shows up as missing in bar at the top. I have tried it in Mozilla, IE and Chrome, and it still does not work. Am I missing something? Thanks.0 -
Seomoz bar: No Follow and Robots.txt
Should the Mozbar pickup 'nofollow" links that are handled in robots.txt ? the robots.tx blocks categories, but is still show as a followed (green) link when using the mozbar. Thanks! Holly ETA: I'm assuming that- disallow: myblog.com/category/ - is comparable to the nofollow tag on catagory?

What's Your Thought About Market Samurai as An SEO Tool Compared to SEOMoz?
What is your opinion about Market Samurai tool as a SEO Tool? I have used it and found it good for analyzing the top 10 competition, getting anchor text profiles and so on. SEOMoz is cool, but has a lot more features. However it lacks keyword research tool. We really cant compare the two tools in terms of pricing because the cost of the MS tool for a lifetime is what will cost SEOMoz membership for a month. What;s your take on this?

Has SEOMoz Domain Authority calc been updated recently
As ever, my apologies if this question's been asked before -- I searched for it, and didn't find it. But, our SEOMoz 'Domain Authority' has recently really jumped (from 67, where it was for many months, to 77). And, our number of Linking Root Domains increased as well, from 1,986 to 3,349) Of course, none of this has translated into Google goodness, but if any of it's true, maybe it WILL in the future? Any thoughts/ideas? Thanks, Dave (www.TeachStreet.com)
