Does SEOMOZ planing to restructure OSE metrics?
-
As you know SEO slowly turning into SEM and some metrics and numbers from Open Site Explorer are no so relevant any more.
As a customer of SEOMOZ product i am warning if you guys are planning to add more value and ranking metrics according to the new ranking metrics and factors to your tools?
-
Hi Jason - we do have some continual improvement plans for OSE and for our metrics. Obviously, the Just Discovered links feature was one of the most recent and valuable ones. We also do refactor and recalculate Page Authority/Domain Authority on a regular basis to make them better correlated with changes to Google.
On the longer-term horizon, we're planning a webspam metric, and we may be using more data from social and fresh web to improve PA/DA.

I don't work for SEOmoz but I can tell you that Open Site Explorer is one of the highest regarded tools in the SEO/SEM Community. The just discovered tab is in Beta and is still pretty awesome. I would say OSE is ahead of the curve and I thiunk most mozzers would agree.
I will tell you the relevance and value to every single metric in OSE.
If you are looking for more of a link opportunity tool i would suggest Ontolo or Buzzstream which I use both. Honestly my starting point for using either of those starts in OSE still.

SEOMOZ Crawl Test
Guys I really have an issue that i know have but cannot see if that makes sense. Basically 3 months ago i did a site wide 301 from economyleasinguk.co.uk to www.economy-car-leasing.co.uk Every thing looks good get all the correct header responses , all canonicals work perfectly , Google webmaster tools is updated fetch as google bot shows the old site is 301 I tried the seomoz crawl test today on the old domain and got this message Oh no! Looks like the page you were trying to access is temporarily down which at first thought ok because the site was not there it wont do it on an old 301 domain, however i tried it on a domain i know has just been 301'd and i got this message The URL http://www.site1.com/ redirects to http://site2.com/. Do you want to crawl http://site2.com/ instead?
Moz Pro | | kellymandingo
Would you like to:
Continue with www.site1.com
Continue with site2.com I really do not know what to do, its either the redirect script is missing something however its doing what it should or the server is a problem but again its doing what it should so why would SEOMOZ not be able to crawl the old URL like it example site above. Now the strange thing is Open Site Explorer does see the 301 and asks if i want to check the new URL instead Ps the redirect is done using PHP redirect which i am asking him to change to a htaccess as its now on a apache server and was wondering if this could be an issue, all pages go to correct pages as requested Thanks in Advance1 -
SeoMoz and incorrect results?
Just recieved my weekly Rankings and On Page report. First thing i noticed is that an important keyword dropped big time. "Rejser til Cypern" dropped from #3 to #40 ... So i checked google.dk myself (using impersonal.me) and saw i was still #3 in SERP. I ran SeoMoz's own Keyword Difficulty Report-tool. It showed me i was #3 in SERP. Now im thinking: Did i just loose my trust in Seomoz, to whom i give access to all my GA-data? What to do? Have anyone else experienced this?

SEOmoz ranking report SERP
I was wondering how SEOmoz the SERPs tracks? e.g. the SERP of keyword in the Google US report, doesn't give me the same result as https://www.google.com/search?pws=0&gl=us&q=keyword Does SEOmoz check the google.com SERPs from several locations and calculate an average?

How does SEOMoz crawl sites? Does it follow the sitemap?
I only ask because in my report it returned a few "no follow" links. Was wondering how SEOMoz operates.
