"Category" word in URLs of blog is it SEO Friendly URL ??

I saw many times that "Category" word comes in URL of blog. So my que is that is this negative for SEO or Positive. & if we don't wanna to come CATEGORY in URL how can we remove while URL Optimization ?

This is plugin I was talking about, but I haven't tested it myself (I personally tend to use pages for categories). Hope that works for you!

Thanks for this reply. Yes, I am using wordpress & creating new website so I am bit worried for this. But you said that we can remove this "category" word from url with the help of plugins. Please tell me the names of few plugins for this so I can remove from URL.

Having the word "category" in the URL isn't a huge deal-- if you have an established site it's probably not worth worrying about, but if you're starting from scratch it could be worth it to remove the extraneous word.

I'm assuming you're using Wordpress? There are plugins that will remove the word "category" from category page URLs. You can also create custom pages that mimic the functionality of category pages, and control the URL that way.
