Should I Use the Disavow Tool to for a Spammy Site/Landing Page?
-
Here's the situation...
There's a site that is linking to about 6 articles of mine from about 225 pages of theirs (according to info in GWT). These pages are sales landing pages looking to sell their product. The pages are pretty much identical but have different urls. (I actually have a few sites doing this to me.)
Here's where I think it's real bad -- when they are linking to me you don't see the link on the page, you have to view the page source and search for my site's url. I'm thinking having a hidden url, and it being my article that's hidden, has got to be bad. That on top of it being a sales page for a product
I've seen traffic to my site dropping but I don't have a warning in GWT.
These aren't links that I've placed or asked for in any way. I don't see how they could be good for me and I've already done what I could to email the site to remove the links (I didn't think it would work but thought I'd at least try).
I totally understand that the site linking to me may not have any affect on my current traffic.
So should I use the Disavow tool to make sure this site isn't counting against me?

Thanks. It seems there are so many opinions on disavow it's hard to know what's right. A lot of people say to only use it when you get a GWT warning but others say it's OK as a preventative measure.
I think I'm going to put together a list of sites that I know are garbage pointing to me and disavow them.

As Moosa said, try and get them to take the articles down first because this would be better and Google says that you should try to get them taken down BEFORE using the disavow tool. If you have already tried then go ahead and use it, you can disavow links from an entire domain so you can just do that.

The links are not build by you... you are sure that the link of link that is pointing back from certain URL is a bad link and you have tried everything to remove those links but failed... now the only option you have left is to use a disavow tool so go for it!
It is important not to use disavow tool when you didn't tried removing the bad links manually but if you did attempt and failed then you should go with option left with you that is using a Disavow tool!

Use it.

Email and landing page duplicate content issue?
Hi Mozers, my question is, if there is a web based email that goes to subscribers, then if they click on a link it lands on a Wordpress page with very similar content, will Google penalize us for duplicate content? If so is the best workaround to make the email no index no follow? Thanks!

Canonical issues using Screaming Frog and other tools?
In the Directives tab within Screaming Frog, can anyone tell me what the difference between "canonicalised", "canonical", and "no canonical" means? They're found in the filter box. I see the data but am not sure how to interpret them. Which one of these would I check to find canonical issues within a website? Are there any other easy ways to identify canonical issues?

64,476 Links from a PR1 Site - Should I Disavow???
We recently discovered in Google Webmaster Tools that a Chinese website with a page rank of 1 has 64,476 links to various pages of our website which is about 120,000 pages in size. Their site covers the same topic as our site - technical information about plastics. My question is, should I let things take its natural course or would it be better to 'block' their site using Google Disavow?

What needs to be done to tell google my site has moved /changed
Hi everyone, I have a site, which I have re-built on a temporary domain, so that my main ecommerce site can still run.. I have noticed that google has already crawled my temporary domain. The only problem is I now want to transfer the new site back onto its proper domain (www.ourbrand.com). I have changed some of the URL structures of the new site so realize I will need to do re-directs relating to the same domain, but will google get confused that another domain used to have my new website on? I don't plan on using the old temporary domain again and wondered if I need to tell google in some way it was used just to build my site on? Michelle

Will using tabs on my page for navigation hurt SEO
Currently we have tabs on some pages that are set so that the page shows all the content for search engines on one page, but the user sees only part of the content until they click a tab. We are unable to use title tags for the tabbed areas. We think this hurts us from an SEO standpoint. We are getting only 3 keyword where we could have 12 if they were individual pages. What is the thought on using tabs and is it okay? Has there been any case studies on this?

Best on-line tool for checking indexed pages (or just for a Mac)
Hey guys, I'm on a Mac and that's why I can't use the usual PC software for checking if my links have been indexed. Here's the deal. I ordered some guest posts. The guest poster did it for me and put my back links. Now, I want to quickly check which pages (with my backlinks) have been indexed. I have a lot of guest posts. So, I need something that can check if those pages have been indexed by Google. I need an online tool or something that will work for my Mac. Help. 🙂

Does having a page (or site) available on HTTP and HTTPS cause duplication issues?
Say I've got a site that can be accessed using either protocal (i.e. HTTP and HTTPS), but most (if not all of the links) are pointing to the HTTP versions. Will it cause a problem if I start link building to HTTPS versions? In other words does google see http://mysite.com as the same page as https://mysite.com? Thanks
