Noindex meta tag
-
Hi
When following Webmaster Tools/Optimization/HTML Improvements it says that we have duplicate title tags and duplicate meta descriptions for hundreds of pages,
As corrective action we have added to those pages and also changed title tags to make sure that they are different but still Webmaster keeps reporting that the duplication exist.
Is it possible that google bot doesn't see our noindex code while crawling?
By the way our seomoz report says that there is no duplicate title tag or meta description on our site
google has crawled our site today and we received our report from seomoz today
thanks

GWT will take awhile to update sometimes, as mentioned above. Are you still having trouble with this or have the errors started to decrease?
Aside from that, if Moz isn't reporting a duplicate title or duplicate meta description, issue, I would guess that GWT is simply reporting old data still or something along those lines.
I'm going to mark as answered for the moment but jump back on here and let me know if you're still having trouble - happy to take a look.

Usually Google Webmaster Tool take lot of time to get updated! I would advice you to recheck your website but SEOmoz tool or search enabler to know if you are free from duplicate problem or not!

If you put the tag in your header, it should see it. It can take a while for Google to crawl your entire site, and it can take even longer for the errors to be updated in Google Webmaster Tools.

Canonical Tags Before HTTPS MIgration
Hi Guys I previously asked a question that was helpfully answered on this forum, but I have just one last question to ask. I'm migrating a site tomorrow from http to https. My one question is that it was mentioned that I may need to "add canonical tags to the http pages, pointing to their https equivalent prior to putting the server level redirect in place. This is to ensure that you won't be causing yourself issues if the redirect fails for any reason." This is an e-commerce site with a number of links, is there a quick way of doing this? Many Thanks

Noindex, follow - linked pages not showing
We have a blog on our site where the homepage and category pages have "noindex, follow" but the articles have "index, follow". Recently we have noticed that the article pages are no longer showing in the Google SERPs (but they are in Bing!) - this was done by using the "site:" search operator. Have double-checked our robots.txt file too just in case something silly had slipped in, but that's as it should be... Has anyone else noticed similar behaviour or could suggest things I could check? Thanks!

Canonical tag in preferred and duplicate page
Hi, I have a super spiffy (not) CMS that tends to create some pages at the root level of the site (not where I want it) i.e. www.site.com/page.htm as well as the desired location i.e. www.site.com/category/keyword/page.htm . Now obviously a canonical tag inserted into the URL at the undesired location would be the best option, however the source code is exactly the same for both pages (can’t change this) i.e. if I put the canonical tag that reads www.site.com/category/keyword/page.htm"/> it will appear in the head section of both pages, the desired URL and the non desired URL. Will a canonical tag inserted into the head section of a the preferred URL directing the search engine spiders pretty much to itself cause more grieft than the solution it offers re duplicate content ? Canonical tags and internal Google search
Quick question: I want some pages that will have canonical tags, to show up in internal results for a Google site search that's built into the site. I'm not finished with the site, but is it correct to assume that pages with canonical will NOT show up in internal site search results, when powered by Google?
