App Store Optimization (ASO): Is It Really the New SEO?
Which type of technique we have to follow in ASO?
Is it same in different App store or every APP store have same technique?
-
After you've done the "on-page" optimization, you can build links of course and yes you will probably follow the same methods you use for normal SEO, but I would probably focus on making sure the product (App) itself is great and then work on getting good reviews. Since we're talking about App Store Optimization here and not Search Engine Optimization, you want to work on those things that can help boost your App in the store itself. Lots of good reviews are similar to lots of links in that they are all "votes" for that App in the App Store search results.

Thanks for this wonderful information!
I am just little bit confuse that after putting title, description, keywords and app picture how we can start linkbuilding. Is it the same way that we follow in SEO?
which type of the website we can take?
Please tell me any better way to optimize my app in app store.

John Lynch posted a pretty good article on Search Engine Watch about App Store Optimization. His post is mainly relevant for the Apple iTunes App Store, but much of the information can really be used for any App Store.
Leah Goodman posted an article to Danny Sullivan's Marketing Land that is specifically targeted to the Google Play App Store, however the article is mainly an advertising piece for AppsGeyser.com. I'm really surprised the article was shared by Danny since it's pretty much an advertorial and even recommends buying reviews from Fiverr.
Overall I think the key techniques to use are:
App Name - choose a great app name and don't be afraid to include your keywords in the name (e.g. "The WidgetMaker: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, and Blue Widgets!").
App Description - Sell your App in your App Description. This should be your call to action.
Keywords - Apple uses keywords. You only have a limited number of characters; be sure to use them wisely.
App Screenshots - You can use Mockups, and pictures of your App being used by actual customers are great too. Make sure your screenshots are High Quality.
The rest of your effort should be the same as regular SEO. Build links to and share your App on Social Networks. These signals and others are likely a factor and at a minimum provide additional ways for customers to stumble upon your App.
Hope this helps!

App Store? You mean like Google Play and iTunes? And why would it be the new SEO?
Most of the people here don't have an app. They have a website. It's a different thing. Perhaps if you elaborate some we can help you.

Best X-Cart SEO Solutions / Modules?
We recently acquired an e-commerce client that uses X-Cart. We have no previous experience with this platform and it's hard to find any good / helpful info regarding SEO functionality online. Right now I need to figure out how to handle mass redirects of 404 errors, friendlier URLs, resolving duplicate content, XML sitemap generation, robots.txt generation. The functionality built into the platform so far is terrible and all of the modules are pricey. Any recommendations, general or specific, would be insanely helpful if anybody out there has experience with this particular platform. Thanks!

List of Local SEO business categories
Where would I find a list of the top business categories best served by local SEO. For instance dentists, plumbers, etc. I'm trying to develop a target list of business categories that I can approach and work with just 1 in each category.

Local SEO Practice: Creating a Fictitious Business?
Has anyone tried fabricating a fake, brick-and-mortar store as an SEO experiment? Sort of along the lines of what Starwood is doing (check out this Wikipedia experiment with the Test Galaxy Sheraton), but with a legitimate physical address and all? Was it useful? And are there any potential legal troubles that could arise from borrowing a vacant address? I'm thinking this could be helpful for my Intern to gain practical experience in local SEO, without the politics of working for a client But I wouldn't want to blight that address for future occupants if the experiment went horribly awry. We could instead offer pro bono services to a small business with a limited web presence – that would be useful to her, and constructive. But I'd like to have a better understanding of what signals Google looks for when deciding whether to index a website in local search, and see whether possible to dupe those algos. What are your thoughts, Mozzers? .

Doing SEO when using location is not an option
When doing SEO for a company that does not have a specific location (they are an online-only retailer), and doesn't want their manufacturing location given, what is some advice on other great SEO tactics that will help counter the disadvantages of not using anything location-related (Google Places, directory submissions, etc). Obviously backlinking and on-page optimization, but in regards to the fact that Google is becoming more and more encouraging of sites that are location-optimized and listed in many records such as Places, Yelp, directories, etc., does anyone have any advice?

What are the things I should tell my website developer to keep in mind for on-page SEO wise while outsourcing it?
I have done the keyword research for my target and will do the copy writing in-house suited for both visitors and bots.Like suitable headers and mention of keyword in the content, mention of keyword in link, having video in the page if possible etc. I need some help for a proper interlinking strategy and main question is, what are the things to be taken care of in coding/development SEO wise, which should be told to developer. I am going for custom development in .NET platform( if it matters anyway ) My site will have 3 products/services page and rest are resources and Q&A community. I am targeting the keywords for 3 products. Q&A community and resources should help me in long tail keywords. Any kind of advice, suggestion is welcome. Thanks

I need your recommendations for which SEO conference I should attend to during 2011-2012. I've been working with SEO since 2002 so I'm not a beginner. I want the good stuff! 🙂 However I havn't been to that many conferences before, only PubCon Las Vegas several times. I would therefore appreciate some help from you guys who have tried them all (or at least several of them) 🙂 Thank's a lot!
