Any need to worry about spammy links in Webmaster Tools from sites that no longer exist?
-
I own an ecommerce website that had some spammy stuff done on it by an SEO firm through SEOLinkVine a few years ago.
I'm working on removing all those links, but some of the sites no longer exist. I'm assuming I don't have to worry about disavowing those in Webmaster Tools?
Thanks!

Thanks, Tom! That's what I assumed, but very helpful to hear from someone more experienced.

Hi Colin
That's correct, you shouldn't have to worry about those. Webmaster tools can be notoriously slow to update when links have been removed and no longer exist, but you should be alright having faith in the fact that if the link doesn't exist, then Google has seen it and doesn't count it any more.
If you want to be ultrasafe, pop them in the disavow file anyway as it won't do any harm. Also, you can follow Google's advice and disavow the entire domain, rather than half a dozen or so URLs from the same domain, in order to save time. You can do that by adding this to the disavow file:
domain:example.com
Hope this helps.

I want to find all the keywords that an existing page is currently ranking for...is there a way to do that in MOZ or another tool?
I've seen this done during a software demo and saw it as the only value add for that tool but it's not worth the price of the whole tool for that one feature. The tool I saw showed you all the keywords you currently ranked for (within the top 200 positions), the position you were at, the number of users that term drove to your site and the total search volume for the keyword. SUPER useful info to have.

Quality links are beneficial, but are neutral links detrimental?
So obviously a link profile featuring quality / authoritative / relavant in-bound links is preferable, but here's my question: If I'm starting work on a brand new domain, should I build links that one would consider neutral (i.e. from a non-spammy, but unrelated site) or should I not bother and only focus on quality links? Thanks

Fix or Block Webmaster Tools URL Errors Not Found Linked from a certain domain?
RE: Webmaster Tool "Not Found" URL Errors are strange links from webstatsdomain.com Should I continue to fix 404 errors for strange links from a website called webstatsdomain.com or is there a way to ask Google Webmaster Tools to ignore them? Most of Webmaster Tools "URL Not Found errors" I find for our website are from this domain. They refer to pages that never existed. For example, one was to www.mydomain.com/virtual. Thanks for your help.

What changes do i need to make to my site to get into google news
Hi, when we had the old design, we were in google news but then when we upgraded our site, we had a major problem which forced us to have to redesign our site. Since then we have not been included in google news and we would like to get back in. We only want to be in google news for the following page http://www.in2town.co.uk/Latest-News-Headlines But for some reason, no matter what we do we keep getting knocked back. I would love to know what we should be doing to get into google news and see what the problems are. We have moved to a bigger dedicated server to increase speed so i know it is not that. Any help would be great Also is there an alternative to google news that i can get our site into to generate traffic and to get our news stories straight out to people Hi, Thank you for your note. Need advice on search listings and link building
Search results on my keyword (engraved wedding glasses) produces several pages of linked domains. (My domain is giftthings.net) Some are good. And admittedly, some are not so good. My question then is simply, why does seomoz link analysis show such a small number of links? And the second part of my question is, "Is there some sort of "magic number", some sort of thresh hold that triggers Google's interest? With a link list that is small but growing, am I missing something in my concern that I'm not moving up in the search listings? I've written a few articles, continuing my work on link building but I remain buried in the search results.

These sites have zero links between them, as far as I can see/tell. Can someone please help me figure out why Google is showing 24k backlinks? Thanks
