CSS, infographics, video and social bookmarks been overdone?
-
As the title says have CSS, info graphics, video and social bookmarks been overdone to the point that they are not worth doing for links, even if they are low quality links in the sense that they only pass a small amount of juice this is fine but I want to know are these links bad (the same as 99% of directories) that can get you penalised.
I am in a pretty uncompetitive niche but need to build links up fast (this will also diversify my link graph) so would these types of links be ok or what would you suggest for low value links not low quality.

I think it's less about submitting them to, as you put it, the vast amount of info graphic directories, and more about having something that will resonate with your audience.
If it's something you believe has good information, and will bring in business, then produce it and publicise it, but I'd hesitate to mass submit to every infographic directory you can find. Pick the x most well known, or most relevant to your industry.
If the information is good, and well presented you should gain real links from real people, which is significantly more useful than any number of directory submissions!

Thank you for your answer, the only problem I have is that I know of a couple of good info graphics that would not take very long with the information we have at hand and they would bring in business, my only concern is that if I submit the info graphic to a vast amount of (as I see them info graphic directories) am I looking at the same problem we now face with directory's?

Personally I think infographics and videos are both in very overcrowded spaces these days.
As it's likely far more time-consuming to create one than a blog post or page of content their creation is a fairly inefficient way of getting a link. But if it goes viral of course...
Mind you, it's not just about the link. If you have something compelling or unique they can, and do, still work - slide decks and videos tend to attract different searches and searchers so they can still be a good way of drawing human traffic to the site.
Videos and images can appear in Google organic results, so increasing your presence.
So they're worth considering as part of your strategy so you have a presence on some different content sites in the hope of gaining exposure to different groups.

Getting Authority Social Blogs to Index
We have a few authority blogs that I manage to help increase our brand awareness and build power to our website. We have Blogspot, Wordpress, Tumblr & Typepad. Our content get's a summary syndicated to our authority blogs with an attribution link back to the original post. I also manually check them one a month to make sure it looks good and the content syndicated correctly. I even add unique content to these blogs once in awhile. I recently realized that the majority of the pages are not indexing. I added the blogs to our GSC & Bing webmasters and submitted the sitemaps. This was done on December 11th, as of now some pages indexed in Google and Bing says the sitemaps are still pending... Blogspot - 32/100 pages indexed Wordpress - 34/81 pages indexed Tumblr - 4/223 pages indexed Typepad - 3/63 pages indexed Can anyone help me figure out why I can't get Google to index more pages or Bing to process the sitemaps timely?

Adding Video to Landing Pages-Beneficial SEO Effect in Terms of Links & Visitor Engagement?
I run a New York City commercial real estate in New York City. Lately, I have started to produce 30-second videos about property listings and neighborhoods. I have noticed that the engagement for these videos on Facebook is much higher that for text posts. Should adding these videos on our website (hosting them on Youtube) result in increased visitor engagement? Could there be a positive SEO effect such as more links and higher quality links? Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks, Alan

Social Media Content Duplicacy?
Since, Social media signals are taken into account for SEO activities. Do you think that Social Profiles account content will also be taken into account? Or is it that how many fans, share, likes a profile has gets into account for SEO activities. Like more number of fans the higher the social value for SEO? Secondly, if someone re-tweets or shares. The content gets duplicated into number of profiles re-tweeted or shared? & what we even do is copy content from other pages, do slight changes & post on our pages? Do you think it will affect the SEO part?

Video SEO
Hello All! I'm wondering about the best way to link build and carry on my video trend. I love to create video's with all of my articles as I feel it adds an extra element to just boring old text! The problem is that my current 25 links from Youtube are all NoFollow. This didn't originally bother me, but it's starting too. Is there a couple of websites that I could upload my article/ video to and gain a link from in a similar manner? Come to think of it, is this a good SEO tactic to use?

Infographic: How do I make one out of this outline?
Hello, I'm making an important infographic for nlpca(dot)com on "What is NLP?" The content is going to come from this page, the creator of which is a close friend of ours: http://www.nlpu.com/NewDesign/NLPU_WhatIsNLP.html I've attached an outline of the content. My concern is that this is not a collection of statistics, but it is a very complex definition. So it's not a true infographic, but "What is NLP" is the most searched for content in our industry (and the nlpu.com link above is the strongest ranking page for that term). I'm wanting help in getting direction on how to create a stellar graphic out of this, so we can get stellar targeted content and gain a group of backlinks from the project. Any suggestions, large or small, are very welcome, and feel free to reference other infographics which can be good models. Thank you so much. for-seomoz-1-4-12.gif

Do you think video syndication is a good link building tactic?
I am creating a process & strategy for publishing videos and would like some feedback on if it is worth syndicating the videos on multiple third party sites either manually or via TubeMogul. Currently the plan is to put the video on our main site, create a video sitemap, submit to webmaster tools so that hopefully the videos on our site show up in the SERPs. Then wait a week and syndicate on third party sites such as youtube, vimeo, viddler, etc. Are there any negative side affects? My thinking is that some people may only see the video if it is on youtube and the other niche sites because they may search those sites for videos rather than Google/Bing. Your thoughts?
