How can i stop such links being indexed

Hi,
How can i stop such links being indexed
The first link is what i want to stop indexed. We have 1,000's of people writing articles and the below URl shows how many articles each did
http://www.somename.com/article/15633
But this is the URl which shows the exact articlehttp://www.Somename.com/article/step-step-installation-ibm-lotus-notesAs both start as thishttp://www.Somename.com/article/How can i set noindex? Should we set for each URL manually one by oneThanks

Is it always the same number (15633)? Are those pages dynamic or static? If they are static yes, you will need to add the canonical and noindex meta to each page. If they are dynamic just in one page while build the code to display the appropriate canonical href and NOT to show the noindex when the user is seeing the page you actually want indexed.

If i have 1,000's of such links
http://www.somename.com/article/15633
Should i add the noindex to all of them one by one
Any specific way to handle this on bulk pages

If I got it right, what you need to do is add a canonical tag to the definitive version of the URL (the one you want indexed): https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/139394?hl=en
Plus a meta noindex to those that you don't want to have indexed: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2007/03/using-robots-meta-tag.html
Hope that helps!

How would you build links to this page?
Hi i have ecommerce store and currently we are looking to build links to category pages like: http://www.theiconic.com.au/womens-clothing-dresses-party-dresses/ What are some natural ways to build links to a page like this? Our SEO agency has done guest posting and forums but these are not natural link building methods and against Google policy. Any suggestions on how to build natural links to these pages? Cheers.

Links from MOZ, Harmful?
I have listed my domain in several Ask the Community requests. These have resulted in links from the Ask the Community posts showing up in MOZ site explorer. So actual links have been detected. Are these links harmful to my link profile? The content is not at all related to commercial real estate which is the subject of our website. Thanks, Alan

Promoting as Affiliate by Having Nofollow Links, can it hurt
Hello, we have a PR-5 site http://www.updater.in In it - we are promoting Hosting, Web development primarily acting as affiliate to these companies. All links to the best of info are marked as nofollow, but still can it hurt search rankings as visitors are been directed within seconds to the respective partner I mean - the time which a person spends is pretty low and every page is marked as Affiliate. If yes - How to get this corrected with sites acting of such nature thanks

Are Navigation links different to static links
We are trying to reduce the number of links on our homepage. We could remove some fly out navigation links, We rank 1st on Google for some of these links. Would removing these hurt our SEO. The links are accessible 1 level down if we remove the homepage.

Does the number of links on a page metric include repeated links?
Just wondering if the number of links on the page metric includes links that are repeated? So, if I had 100 links to one page would this count as 100 or 1 link?

Can obfuscated Javascript be used for too many links on a page?
Hi mozzers Just looking for opinions/answers on if it is ever appropriate to use obfuscated Javascript on links when a page has many links but they need to be there for usability? It seems grey/black hat to me as it shows users something different to Google (alarm bells are sounding already!) BUT if the page has many links it's losing juice which could be saved....... Any thoughts appreciated, thanks.
